online they said they closed at 4 for a website, our reservation was at 2 & the did last call & closed the kitchen at 3 so we only got to stay for an hour which we didn’t know. other than that it was good
Enjoyed an opportunity to taste different wines. Staff was informed on their various wines/beers and gave great recommendations. Great snacks too that paired with our wines beautifully. The vineyards were so much fun to walk through. Highly enjoyed our experience!
Delicious beers and light snacks on the Tank Patio, hope to make it back before our trip is done!
We had people visiting from Florida. One of the places we wanted to bring them was Newport Vineyards. We usually love our experience at the Vineyard.
There was a wedding going on so the vineyard grassy area was closed. There was no Jenga, corn hole or music.
We went up to the walk up bar but we were told we couldn’t get a drink while we waited for our table that wasn’t ready yet.
We sat down and we’re served well by our server. The server ce and food was good.
It was cold but they don’t have any patio warmers.
Thankfully we brought blankets.
Definitely not the same ambiance or experience so we were disappointed.
As always the food was amazing! It was my first time on the Tank Patio, which was nice, but I was disappointed that the menu was different than the main Taproot building. I was really looking forward to ribs, but they weren’t available at the Tank Patio. The beer selection was also better in August when we went than this time. However, the food we did order was delicious!
Came here to celebrate my 30th birthday with my boyfriend and our daughter. Our server was lovely and attentive. The space is beautiful and serves a delicious selection of wines and beer. This was our second time here and will definitely come back again. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the quality of the food.
Beautiful place, amazing experience on sunny days.
Waitress was extremely attentive , outstanding service
Great place for some craft beers and wine. Could not get into the main dinning room so we went to the Tank Patio. Our server was great and the beers/wine were too! When in Newport this is worth a stop!
Absolutely amazing and relaxing time. Tacos and chowder, best we ever had, service was on point, friendly and inviting. Will definitely go again and bringing friends.
We loved it - beautiful place with many options for where to sit outside and have a drink or eat. Their food is incredible too - especially the local cheese plate and raspberry preserves!
The patio was great and the food was good. No one in my group particularly enjoyed the wine. This is a good place if you are looking for a place to sit outside on a nice day with some good food.
I was looking for my normal experience at the Newport Vineyards where I could do a winetasting with my friends and bring my own appetizers to enjoy. Newport Vineyards is getting too big for their britches they are over priced and I will not return!
I was embarrassed that I had brought my friends from Virginia and North Carolina here!
Hi Theresa, thank you for visiting. Since we have an onsite restaurant, we unfortunately cannot allow outside food. This is stated in our reservation and website information. We do have a range of delicious options including cheeseboards, snacks, and entrees available to pair with your wine tasting that are quite popular - with ingredients grown onsite and sourced locally. If you do prefer to bring your own picnic somewhere, there are some great options to do so in the area. Best wishes!
Had a wonderful time tasting wines and eating bites. Service was great and the view was nice. Perfect place to relax on a nice day.
My wife and I stopped in for a beer and wine tasting. The view of the vineyards is beautiful. The wine and beer were both delicious and the cheese board was a great pairing. Definitely recommend.
The pork carnitas street taco was fatty. I should have ordered chicken instead. There was too much sauce on the street corn. Cam our server was great!
Beautiful location, wine was good and cheeseboard was excellent. Cute gift shop where we purchased bottles to remember the day by!🍷
Outstanding venue. Great location space. It was really busy, but we had great service.
Amazing experience! Great beer, tasty wine, delicious food, friendly service. 5 stars!
Anything from the grill menu is good. Eat next to the vineyards
When we arrived we weren’t acknowledged. We called over a waiter after sitting for 15 minutes. After that service was great.
Menu is a bit limited due to difficulties with staffing (Covid), but you can't beat the atmosphere and the wine! Hubby also loves the beer.
The place is nice, I love the atmosphere
The wine was ok
The service was ok
Forgot our order but other than that it was ok
We had a Saturday night reservation and were seated promptly, the staff was polite and friendly. The patio was uncomfortably smoky and smelled like charred meat. One guest was the designated driver so ordered strawberry lemonade, which was poured from a half gallon plastic container (store bought). The cheese plate was pricey and small, and had some random unidentified fruits placed for a gourmet effect that missed the mark. There was a total of four triscuit-like crackers, the only thing on the plate to hold the cheese. The menu was small, which would be fine if the offerings were not so taste-specific; the 3 sandwiches offered were beef, swordfish, or chicken thigh. One guest ordered the beef sandwich, she said it was ok but wouldn’t order it again. The homemade potato chips that came on the plate were delicious. Another guest ordered street tacos with pork. The tortillas came stacked two per taco, an effort at authenticity, but were too thick and firm so they split immediately at the fold, dropping all contents back to the plate. The pork was sparse and fatty. All items were served on paper plates.
The check in process was confusing, I believe because there was a wedding coming in. Our waiter was familiar with the drinks which was good. We ordered 3 apps only received 2 before we ordered dinner. It was ok, I’d return just to have a better experience.
WOW! I booked Newport Vineyards for my future sister-in-law's bachelorette party as a fun activity during our stay in Newport and it did not disappoint! The website was very descriptive of what we could expect during our time at the vineyard, and made everything easy to work with. Our wines were amazing and the weather and the views truly made it the perfect afternoon. All of the girls left with either a bottle of wine or beer. I wish I lived closer so I could come back!
The food and drink was exceptional as always but our service was truly lacking. We order apps and flights with our meals. Our flights came out quickly but we waited over an hour for food and of course the apps and meals ALL showed up at once. Our server hardly came by to check on us. I felt bad as we took a couple who had never been before.
Our server was great- although very busy and understaffed, everyone had a great attitude and was willing to accommodate changes to the menu and many questions about the wine selection. Will definitely be back!
Never been to a vineyard before but this experience was amazing! Having lunch outdoors with the backdrop of the vineyard. Food was freshly made, tasted amazing and it was the best food I had on my 3-day stay in Newport. Wings, swordfish burger, bbq burger and chicken wrap was tasty! I ordered a wine flight… Reisling was my #1. Special touch for this experience was being able to take pictures in the vineyard!
The space was beautiful and the menu offered a decent variety of food- but unfortunately for us and many others, part of the grounds were closed for a wedding, despite the wedding seeming to take place in a completely different section
Very nice place. The staff was very friendly and energetic. The food was very good. Just wish they had entrees that weren’t sandwiches, but it was good overall
Delicious food and wonderful ambiance! Service was great too.
It was a lovely visit to the vineyard. Ambiance was great. We had a beautiful sunny day. The food was good. Just the right amount of variety to please any palette.
Great location, beautiful surroundings but the kitchen closes very early on Sunday. Also you cannot order off of Brix's menu which is right next door. They also should have some decent plates and silverware for the type of restaurant and the pricing.
Nice place .average food
Food took awhile to arrive but the panzanella was delicious and refreshing. Lots of wine options.
We love the Newport Vineyards. It's always such a great time. The food was very salty but still good. I still 100% recommend this spot!
The wines are great! The scenery is beautiful and the staff is attentive!
Beautiful location and a great way to sample a variety of wines/beers/ciders. Great for a special occasion, or for a change of pace, from the usual run-of-the-mill restaurants. Wait staff was very good / courteous / responsive. Food options are rather limited though. It's a rather small menu anyway, but if you have any type of food allergy/intolerance, be forewarned that you will be *extremely* limited in what you can eat. Some items which *should* have been an option at a typical restaurant -- with minor modifications -- actually could not be modified due to the kitchen pre-marinating items, etc. That was a bit of a bummer and kind of surprising, truth be told. Otherwise, a lovely environment to hang for a couple hours and the gift shop is totally worth checking out post-tastings. You can get your favorite wines, beers, and specialty gift items there.
