Nightingale Ratings and Reviews
Exceeded expectations! Everything was awesome! Keep up the great food and service!
Clients loved it and it does create a special
Atmosphere to share dishes. We were sat at an odd bench seating upstairs with noisy groups all around. so the place is meant for casual business lunches or groups of friends. Celebrations...
I had my first "experience" at the Nightingale the other night. It was outstanding. The service was top notch - water was poured when the glass was half empty! The food was totally amazing! The freshness and flavours were incredible. We started with the Kale Salad - the green goddess dressing was superb! Then shared the roasted delacata squash with feta and toasted almond, capers and sultana vinaigrette - amazing! Then the most delicious Butternut squash tortellini with sage brown butter, goat good and toasted pumpkin seeds! Topped off with some lovely wine! A great light meal before heading off to the theater! Highly recommend it!
Great service, food and ambiance, never disappoints..
Service and food was fantastic! Definitely coming back
We were at Nightingale restaurant last weekend with a group of friends for my birthday celebration. I had made a reservation for us a week prior. At the time of reservation, I was informed of a minimum spending of $45/ guest but was not made aware that this amount only included appetizers and main meal. When we arrived to the restaurant my friend explained to me that the minimum spending does not include drinks. As a result, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager explained that because this is their policy, they cannot do anything about it. I felt pressured to ask my guests to spend a minimum of $45 just on their food and felt embarrassed for having to deal with this in front of my friends. Eventually, the manager spoke with her colleague and after going back and forth, she came to tell me "that strictly this time only they are able to make an exception to wave their policy of minimum spending for group dining". She kept emphasizing on this and repeatedly mentioned that this was a one time only exception. The way she spoke to us felt disrespectful and patronizing. More than trying to keep us happy specially on my birthday, the manager made me feel like she's doing us a favour, even though we were misinformed of their "policy" for group dining. I felt so embarrassed as the manager spoke to us publicly in front of my guests and everybody heard the conversation.
Even though we agreed on no minimum spending and our total bill at the end of the night added up to $45 per person on average, the waiter who served our table also made a comment as he was taking care of our payments and said "the minimum spending policy does not include drinks" and left us all surprised why he would have to bring this up after this was already discussed. Overall, I believe the whole situation was handled very unprofessionally and left us feeling not welcomed. I had a terrible experience and felt embarrassed in front of my friends. I would not dine at Nightingale in the future again.
Outstanding! The ambiance was wonderful and the food was amazing.
Excellent service, food, and setting. Excellent choices for wine and after dinner drinks.
A great restaurant if you are a fan of small plates. A great variety of choices. The service was excellent.
I like the menu options and the atmosphere - comfortable seating, good lighting and not too noisy. The roasted cauliflower, mushroom dish, a triple baked potato wedges were delish. My Hanger steak was very tasty as well although I wish we were permitted to have our meat cooked to our preference not to the Chef's liking. I brought my two friends who had never been before and one of them was underwhelmed. She ordered the roasted chicken but didn't end up eating most of it as it was 'pink to the bone'. Our server, we felt was okay. A discussion of the expectation of exceptional customer service was a dinner topic we had and disappointingly, we feel we've had better servers from places like White Spot. We tip high on servers who are uber friendly, genuine, personable and have an "above and beyond" attitude and quality to their service. We tipped a mere 15% because we did not receive this as I have not in the past either. I will return for the atmosphere and menu but sadly I cannot rave about Nightingale as it lacks some stars in my opinion.
Wow! Nightingale was impressive and a place I highly recommend! We enjoyed both bar seating and the upstairs dining room, with the flavour profiles and service at another level. Can’t wait to return!!
The food was ok, I was expecting a bit more refinement and taste. Nice decor ample space
Went with Friends while we were doing a Stay Vacation in Vancouver. Really enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Only constructive criticism would be Scotch selection if you wanted something under $50.00 a shot was poor.
I was very happy with my overall experience and impressed that my "request" comment was met when booking - does not happen very often. Will definitely come back!
Everything about Nightingale is spectacular, but the noise level, and granted we sat upstairs, was quite defening and it was practically impossible to hear what my guest across the table was saying. Not great for a business lunch but will definitely return.
We went for my husband's birthday and we had great service. The food was amazing abd i cabr wait to go again.
A wonderful range of selections, many small plates for sharing, all the food was well prepared, interesting spicing, attractively presented. A very attractive decor, service is friendly and always ready to look after you. Good wine selections by the glass and 1/2 bottle, with knowledgeable staff for suggestions.
Great and lively atmosphere, busy even on a weeknight. Food quality and service are great. For a casual fare, this restaurant provides a excellent value. I appreciate the fine dining service for a casual restaurant.
However, we had to wait 30 minutes for our table despite having a reservation at 6:30pm. I believe there is opportunity to be less aggressive in the restaurant's schedule planning.
I have dined at Nightingale 3 times...twice for lunch (sitting at the chefs table) and once for dinner and each time I enjoyed the food, the service and the ambiance immensely. I cannot wait to return and look forward to taking friends and family there so that they can share in the sheer enjoyment that I experienced.
Everything was really good. We ordered the Tuna, cauliflower, brusel sprout, lamb chop, and bone marrow.
The tuna and cauliflower was really good. Highly recommend.
Bone marrow is pretty good, but it's not a 'repeatable' dish. If you haven't tried it before, do try it, but i'm pretty sure trying it once is good enough.
Brussel sprouts and lamb chop were too salty. It's ok, but just not something you expect from a Hawksworth establishment.
This was a surprise birthday dinner. When confirming the reservation over the phone, the host made sure to find out the name of the birthday boy so they could ensure the whole party was there.
The food was fantastic. Jeremy was a great server, recommended ordering 2 each of dishes to ensure all 8 of us could taste.
Once explained that the very extensive menu was about sharing, everything came together.
Good food , nice atmosphere, not excessively noisy for a large venue.
Have been to Nightingale a number of times and it never fails to deliver. It is one of my favorites for all the right reasons... food service and vibe. The only negative is that it can get quite loud with a full room so for a quite intimate get together, it might not suit.
18th Birthday for my son.
Greatly enjoyed experience by all those present. Excellent service, great food and wonderful environment made for great dining. Would definitely recommend to others.
The hostess weren’t very organized, we were early for our reservation so after check-in n coat checking they sent us to the bar area n left us. We felt awkward n didn’t know what to do so we had to go back to ask. We were then told if the seats are full then it’s standing room. When it came time for our reservations no one came for us. When we follow up 15-20min later they say we had not check-in??? They tried to make up for it by complimenting the appetizers we had at the bar however the tone of the night was set.
Great service by a great server and wine team member. Both names were Mike. Fantastic food and wine recommendations. Will be back for sure !
I had been to Nightingales a few times prior to this occasion. This time was a first date so it was important to impress the lady! Your staff did not disappoint! Food recommendations were wonderful, the food arrived timely, we were not rushed and the tastes were great. My guest brought a wonderful bottle of red, and the corkage fee was very reasonable! The staff was polite and prompt. I can't wait to go back. Thank you.
Interesting menu with unique flavor combinations. The food was delicious. I can't wait to go back.
Fun, trendy spot for a great friends get together downtown. The food was delicious and creative. I'd definitely recommend and return to the Nightingale.
Very extensive menu great for sharing several dishes.
Delightful meal that worked well for my vegetarian friend. Energetic innovative food.
It was my daughters birthday dinner. Her chicken came basted in sauce with pork ! She passed on it and we were not charged
My sisters steak came cold. She did not fuss as it was a birthday dinner
My lamb shank was disappointing
Service was slow. It was a busy Monday night !
Keegan our waiter was very attentive and deserved the 20% tip.
The food is really great! Loved the hanger steak!! The half quail is very good as well. Love the choices of vegetables! Very tasty!!!
The service is really not that great. At the beginning, we were brought 3 sets of utensils (for 2ppl) that were left on the table as a bunch.... Just a whole pile of them in the middle . Then we could not get the attention of the waiters to ask to bring the pepper and salt..... The dirty dishes in front of us never bothered them either. Seems like the waitresses are busy communicating with each other and being busy feeling pretty and important.... Remarkably, it was just 5pm - the restaurant was almost empty!!!!
Great food and ambiance! Our server Veronica was fun and helpful. Food and drinks were served in a timely manner.
We liked the restaurant and all the staff were friendly. But the food didn't come out at the same time, one dish wasn't very hot and the other was a bit burnt. The service wasn't a hundred percent brilliant considering it was a quiet Saturday afternoon. We liked the décor and the music. We'd go back but we'd sit upstairs next time.
Hands down my favorite place in the city. Food is absolute perfection every time, a unique mix of comfort and elegance. The fried chicken and spaghetti with Manila clams are a must try!
Great food but very noisy hard to have a conversation..........
The food was excellent but the noise was tiring and detracted from our enjoyment.
service was inconsistent and not the greatest. Out of 5 dishes, one person cared to explain the ingredients. Everyone else just dropped it off giving the dish name and each dish was dropped of by a different person. Waiter wasn’t really on the ball. Late to take drink order so I had to ask. Checked up on us once throughout. Restaurant was quite loud overall, so we had to yell at each other.
