North Italia - Reston
Sat for 25 min waiting for initial glass of water.
Chris our server was great!
service super slow but we appreciated the credit on the appetizers!
this is our favorite restaurant and we live across the street and come often
the bolognase is my favorite but this time it was served a bit cold and the pasta was not as fresh as usual-I have had it many times
nevertheless, we will be back!
I always love North Italia - my cousin, daughters and I went last night. Alex, our server, was wonderful - very attentive, gave great recommendations on the food and remembered me from my last visit with my husband in October. If you want a great experience ask to be seated in Alex's section.
Prior to dinner I met some colleagues for drinks and apps in the bar. The service, food quality and drink quality were not up to North Italia's standard. The bartender is new and having trouble keeping up - and the meatballs I ordered were cold. They did bring out another order that was warm. The server did the best she could but hard to overcome very delayed drinks, limited alcohol pour and cold food.
My colleagues won't go back for Happy Hour - they went to accommodate me. I'll give Happy Hour another try, and see if they can work out the kinks.
We have eaten at north Italia in Reston many times. Last night we had exceptional waiter, food was best we’ve had and it was a busy Monday night but noise level was moderate.
Great time! Thank you!!
Good and service was amazing
Food was authentic and well served! Pricing was very reasonable!
The ambiance was less romantic than I’d hoped. Waiter was somewhat flamboyant and heavily pierced, which isn’t something we like. Food was mediocre at best…not a lot of flavor, burned veggies, and odd pairings (some sort of pea concoction with the salmon). Service was slow and food overpriced. The branzino was okay but lacked flavor and the Caeser salad was okay. We will not be back.
Everything was good, food was very good. Just took a bit to get us silverware, and not sure if it was because wit was busy but it did take a bit to get our entree orders taken. Once they were taken food came out on a very timely manner. Over all, 4.5/5
Restaurant was not quite full but service was overwhelmed. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and appetizers. The food was good, but overpriced for the quality and service.
Service was a little slow, with our waiter clearly managing too many tables.
The waitress must have been NEW, because she forgot the wine order and the extra bread order and she got a few of the dinner orders wrong.
North Italia has the best servers, and the food is delicious.
Overall was good. Took a little longer to get our order but still fun.
The sangrias and our white truffle garlic bread were great. My margarita pizza was underwhelming, it tasted vaguely like a DiGiorno pizza.
1st, they wouldn’t seat us although we were 10-mins earlier than our reservation. The place was not even 1/2 full.
2ndly, bar was sooooo slow. Took 1/2-hr for a cocktail. Really?!
3rd, my arugula & avocado salad came out without avocado.
With all these mess, I wouldn’t go back even if I were invited.
I am aware that this restuarant is having staffing issues. However the dinner we had was very disappointing. The calamari was overcooked, squid ink pasta, both squid and pasta was rubbery. The wild scampi shrimp which i always have here was salty. And the servers seem to have no patience. Very disappointing.
The waiter was the best. Excellent customer service and was very helpful.
North Italia is my favorite restaurant in Reston Town Center. The food is superb and the service is great, too!
We love North Italia and chose to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary there. We had a great time - food was excellent - service even better. Alex our server could not have been nicer or more accommodating. He was appropriately attentive. Cole, the new General Manager, came over and introduced himself. He is such a nice guy and appears to be very hands on and attentive to his guests needs but also his staffs. We had a great time and plan to return.
Overall, the dining experience was good and the food was excellent. However, my only complaint would be that we ordered two of the pasta dishes to go and they made them immediately rather than waiting to make them closer to the time we were ready to leave. Also, they made the mistake of packing one to go and the other in the bowl to be eaten there in the restaurant. We told them it was also to go. We noticed that the to go container had about 1/2 the amount as to what they put in the bowl to be eaten there in the restaurant. So, apparently if you order to go, they give you half the amount and you would never know it.
Wesley, our server was one of the best servers we’ve ever had, ever. Great restaurant, great food, exceptional service.
Love this place! Food, service, drinks - splendid!
The waitress was great ! It was my birthday and the food was amazing and the service was great.
One of the worst server experiences we have ever had. She literally walked off on me, brought our appetizers at the end of the meal and was so rude. The manager was nice and tried to help with the situation but the server ruined our entire meal
Hi Ahona, I am sorry to hear that your visit was severely lacking the hospitality we are known for protraying. I have sent you a private message for more information. Hope to hear from you soon, Cole Wiedel General Manager
Love this restaurant. Excellent food and service.
Great food, location and company. Service was slow.
Love the food and the service was perfect I’ll go again abs again
Food was very good as was the service. Outdoor seating was full, however, indoor was spaced out and doors open.
I would typically give this place a higher rating, but for Sundays their service and food declines some and I would not return. The food took forever to come out. They did apologize for the delay, but I'm not sure what caused it. The place was not that busy. Also my breakfast pasta had TONS of raw garlic in it, so I could not eat it. My son really enjoyed hi chicken dish, so it appears to be hit or miss. I would probably stick to dinner at this place.
Great bar area. The food and service was very good. We will definitely go back.
Overall it was good. Food came out a little cold but service was great!
We sat outside in a beautiful day, the service was friendly and warm. The truffle appetizer, chicken salad and pizza was perfect. I am glad this restaurant is in my neighborhood.
We liked the food but our pizza was about 30 min late. It would have been find but the manager came over to check on us and then out waiter mentioned the pizza would be comped… then it wasn’t. I wish the seed of the comped pizza wouldn’t have been planted because then we were let down.
I had a reservation and the hostess still tried to seat me at the high too bar area which annoyed me. Second, the table we sat at was not wiped down that well and was sticky. Lastly, our waitress took over 15 minutes to attend to us once we were seated. Thank god the food made up for it otherwise I would have lost it.
We were at the restaurant celebrating a birthday. We had hoped for good weather, as there is ample room to sit outside. Since it was rainy, we sat inside. We knew if would be noisy, but were given a corner table away from the bar.
It would be better if the "background music" was turned down to a lower level., to enable easy conversation.
The food was delicious and the server very congenial and helpful.
My only other suggestion would be to have some sort or green vegetable as part of the meal. My husband had chicken parm with rigatoni. While he very much enjoyed it, the plate cried out for some green beans, asparagus or broccoli to add both color and nutrition. I had diver scallops with risotto. I thought there would be asparagus, but they were chopped into bitty pieces as part of the risotto. Again both the presentation and the meal would be better with a green vegetable on the plate.
Since the meals were not cheap, I feel the addition of a green vegetable entirely warranted.
Late lunch with soup of the day. Just perfect for chatting.
My husbands fish dish was excellent. My meal was awful. I ordered the pasta bolognese, there was such little sauce with absolutely no meat on it. It was so dry it was almost inedible. I asked our bartender (we sat in the bar area) for a side of the meat sauce. After 15 minutes of waiting, it never arrived. I approached the bartender again and the manager came by our table and took the dish and said he would replace it. Another 15 minutes later, my husband had finished his meal and I still didn’t have my dinner. When the pasta finally arrived, it wasn’t a huge improvement in terms of the amount of sauce that was put in it. I’m not expecting a soupy dish but the point of the bolognese is to have a hearty meat sauce with the pasta and this is not at all what arrived, both times. At this point we just wanted to leave. When our check arrived with, we were charged for 2 orders of the pasta AND the side of meat sauce we never received. It was corrected, however at this point, we were just done with the entire experience.
I understand restaurants are hurting for staff, I am very patient but this was just unsatisfactory on all levels. I likely will not be returning after this experience.
Great food and service! Everyone was very attentive and especially nice to my 8 m.o. baby.
For those of you that have tried real ($$$) Wagyu don’t bother from here cause you will be highly disappointed. It was very chewy and burnt! The rest of the food was great and the staff was lovely!
My coworker and I love going to North Italia. This was our first time at this location and it did not disappoint. We set at the bar and had the best service, delicious cocktails and food :) 10/10 recommend!
