North Italia - Reston
This was my family’s first dining experience at North Italia and we thoroughly enjoyed! The service and food was excellent. Our server, TJ, was awesome! Will be back!
Noisy, lively, seems like it's always busy. Small menu. I'm not sure why this new restaurant is so popular. I don't have much to say about it. It's not bad, but left me somewhat underwhelmed.
Service is atrocious, slow and inattentive (manager nowhere to be found). Food is really good but not worth dealing with the service.
Our server and the managers who checked in with us were delightful. Our food was delicious. And we loved the wine we chose. Great dinner night with friends!
We all ordered very different items, and 4 of us were finished long before the pizza for the other 2 in our party arrived. It was not well-planned! Our waitress showed no interest!
Amazing food and service in a beautiful setting. Excellent wine list. I would recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely eat here again!
Wasn’t too loud on a Monday night because it was not too crowded. I fear a weekend night might be much too loud.
For some strange reason restaurants think they must me very loud to be successful.
There are actually people in this world who like to be able to speak to each other. Texting to communicate with your dinner partners is absurd.
I received a call from the restaurant about an hour before my 11 am reservation to inform me that something had happened and that Northern Italia would not be able to open on Sunday March 1. It was most unfortunate since I had arranged to have brunch with another couple that Sunday morning. The cancellation by the restaurant on such short notice left me scrambling to find and make arrangements to meet at another restaurant. The caller did not explain what had happened and made an apology with an offer to book another day.
It's an excellent place for a nice dinner. The service is great and there is no rush.
I think the prices for a glass of wine is too high, especially since it is only 8 oz. most restaurants offer 9 oz.
good for an evening out. Service could be better but the food was good
Food is good, not great. The "Bread and good olive oil" is simply toasted bread. Mussels appetizer was tasty. Strozzapreti was very good, though rich. Service was mediocre and rushed: asking us how the food was immediately after it was brought, before we tasted it; bringing the check within minutes of finishing eating.
North Italia is good but it can be overpriced. The dishes are large so if you share that makes it more reasonable. We had an odd situation where portion sized in Reston were significantly smaller than Tysons and when we questioned it the manager didn't really seem like it was an issue. We didn't need anymore food but just an observation especially when the entrees are so expensive.
Great food, service and quality.
Absolutely loved the food, service, and atmosphere. I'll definitely be back soon!
Food was quite tasty but very overpriced. Server was extremely attentive (almost too much!). She kept coming back every 2 minutes.
Delicious food and great atmosphere!! I will definitely be back.
Food portions very small, Bolognese and Chicken Parm- pasta.
Service was slow. jb
It is our new go to place to celebrate birthdays and special events. The food is very good. I would highly recommend North Italia to my friends.
Only reason I didn't give a 5 is I requested a booth.
Service was slow and server seemed confused. They never came to refill water until we asked, we she did the pitcher was empty and she didn’t go get another.
The food was good, the wait was over an hour for simple pasta dishes and i never had a server come back and fill my drink (I was begging people for wafer).
Loved it! Would definitely go back.
Order for cheese on the side had cheese on the dish. When we pointed it out to the waiter, his response was the kitchen was busy. He offered no apology. Waiter forgot to bring out a salad that was ordered.
I would recommend with reservations. We were very please the first two times we visited this restaurant and the food was terrific. This time the food was just so so. My favorite dish, spaghetti and meatballs did not have the intricate flavors it did the first few times. The squid ink pasta which we were told was there specialty was a big disappointment. The calamari was mainly arugula lettuce. Very disappointed.
Food is fairly decent but the menu is extremely limited and honestly, kind of boring.
The silly grilled bread with 'good' olive oil appetizer was disappointing as there was very little olive oil, of any quality, present.
Entrees varied in quantity wildly so that the person with the smallest appetite ate her tortelloni fast while the rest of us had more sizable entrees to work through.
Service is extremely friendly and cheerful but execution is not there and seems it never will be. The server had no idea that dolcetta is on their wine list when I ordered a glass of it, and also couldn't answer a question about the beer list without disappearing for 10 minutes to ask the bartender.
No one had any idea who ordered what but the person who delivered the plates didn't even wait for an answer before putting plates down at random in front of each in my party of 4. Nothing horrible happened, it's just that I expect more and would appreciate the friendly energy being channeled into executing on service rather than kibbitzing with me like we're old friends.
The location is great and the food is good. For once the tables are not right next to each other so you could actually have a conversation without the person sitting at the next table overhearing everything
Food and service were excellent. Love the bolognese and tiramisu.
On the downside, it was loud there and we sat a good distance from the front door but could feel a draft - it was a very cold night out.
We went on Valentine’s Day which I do t think if fair to judge any rest
The fixed price valentines day dinner was fair at best. I played it safe and went with the lobster appetizer and filet mignon for entre. Neither was that tasty. My wife played it safe also with the meatball appetizer which was OK and the Bolognese which was just OK. Even the drinks were just OK. Not a favorite place but everywhere else was booked.
i was sick after eating the meal; we ordered the caesar salads, procioutto pizza, desert...tasted good but the body disagreed.
Fresh food and lots of flavor. Highly recommend the calamari and tiramisu.
The food was great. Our server Nathan was great. Super nice and helpful.
Great service in bar area, even spilled my wine and they gave me a new glass! Great food and good plave to go with friends!
Good food and very nice location and mood for a great dining experience.
We had experienced North Italia in San Diego a few weeks ago, so when we learned there's one in Reston, we thought it would be great for dinner with kids and grandkids. Exactly right! My son and daughter-in-law loved it and the 6 & 4-year olds had a good time too. Food was great. And waiter Nate made it fun with recommendations and comments. He said it was his first solo weekend on the floor, but he handled everything like a seasoned pro.
Incredible food and loved the music and vibe to the restaurant. Great value and fun place. Friendly staff. A treasure in Reston Town Center ❤️
Service was superb, food was delicious. Will definitely come back here!
Food was cold and everything was incredibly over priced! $20 for a glass of wine! You have to pay $5.00 to get bread which was cold and greasy!
