Great service and great food!
Erica was amazing she always checked on me to see how my food was and if I wanted anything else. The cheese board was amazing and so was the branzino
Unfortunately, North Italia had tons of waiters and waitresses plus "managers-hostess), but service was awful. Our waiter would disappear for long period of times; he was also doing as a bartender and conversing with individuals at the bar like he was just tending the Bar. Also, most of those working the floor spent lots of time in the kitchen drinking coffee or water, but not working the floor. Lots of people for such a poor service attending. Runner bringing food wouldn't ask whether the orders were good or ask any questions - he woudl just put the plates on the table and leave. Waiter no where to find him. We requested extra cheese in the pizza (didn't happen).
North Italia has always done better - hope DC can match the service in Tysons
2nd time there. Great food & great service!
Got there ahead of our reservation time and they accommodated us nicely. Thank you
Great food, drinks and atmosphere!
Server and manager very attentive. Definitely would eat here again
Amazing gf pizza
North Italia is a nice addition to the solid restaurants downtown. It is 5 blocks from where we live so it’s convenient to dine in or carry out.
Good food, good value and nearly always crowded, in a good way.
Very good food, will definitely go again. They put cheese on things without telling you so be advised and order “without cheese” if applicable.
Delicious fresh pasta, very good overall, great service. Maybe just a little pricey.
The pomegranate mule, meatballs, calamari, broccolini, tiramisu, and the Italian butter cake were the standouts for me.
Perfect place to reconnect with good friends from high school!
Fantastic experience! The hostesses and staff were sweet and lovely and the happy hour is incredible (such a good find). The food was tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant!
I chose the hamburger and I found it very good.
Visit North Italia in Tysons; it's a much nicer experience. North Italia DC has good food but needs better trained staff.
Great food and friendly staff. We were in a rush with a flight to catch and they were super nice and effective . The food was very good . Excellent pasta and pizza . Creative salade . We ll be back soon
Our visit was it's usual wonderful experience!!! The only minor drawback, and I understand the current employment issues in the industry, was that our server was also the bartender. Although the drinks were great and the food was served by assistants, our drinks were delayed a bit and her attention to our table was a little distracted. Still great overall and we will return.
Great food and service in a comfortable friendly atmosphere
Too expensive for what you get. What Italian restaurant does not provide salad with entree?
A very pleasant restaurant with good service. A little rushed but attentive wait staff and very accommodating. The ambience is great. Salads were excellent - we sampled the Simple, Arugula, and Caesars.
Exceptionally attentive service, wonderful food full of flavor and fresh ingredients.
I really loved our waitress, she was super nice and very attentive. the food was delicious as always. hoping to come again soon.
The glazed short rib cavatelli was the best pasta I have ever had in my entire life! The staff were very kind and helpful, and coped admirably with a busy dinner rush on a Saturday night!
We came for brunch and had a delicious meal. It was nice to come early in the day when the noise level was much lower and there weren’t too many other tables inside. I had the burrata anolini and it was DELICIOUS. So good that I could have had seconds. This remains one of my favorite Italian restaurants!
Overall we enjoyed North Italia. We were seated promptly for our reservation, our server was pleasant and attentive, our appetizers were mostly delicious though we did order garlic bread that was overdone. Our entrees came out a little too promptly arriving while we were still eating our appetizers and enjoying our first round of drinks but they were delicious. The major issue with the restaurant was noise level which was off the charts loud really detracting from the dining experience. If you have no problem with struggling to hear your server or dinner companions you’ll love it.
Calamari and grilled bread were delicious…loved all the entrées…chicken parmigiana, bolognese and the squid ink pasta!
Always great food and friendly service.
Ate on the outdoor patio, which was quite nice. Service was prompt. Food was served quickly and presented nicely. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Priced a little high, but it is a nice addition to the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.
Servic was great. Food was delicious.
Nice-looking place, but the service was very slow. I felt as though the wait staff was not very attentive in general, and the food was just ok.
This restaurant is my favorite in the West End of D.C., where I live. The food is well chosen and prepared to mimic the best in Tuscan couisine with remarkable flavors and an excellent eye for cooking, but not overcooking the meal. From salads to pizzas to mains, quality is a focal point and the servings are more than adequate for sharing. The prices are most reasonable for D.C. Inside dining is spacious and airy; outside is smaller but acceptable, especially on the weekends when there is less vehicular traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue. There are heaters for the sidewalk that work well when there is not a strong breeze to disburse the warm air that they generate.
Excellent food and nicely served. Music somewhat loud
Food was fantastic.
Out server was fast and efficient. I had reservations for 5pm on Friday and was in and out in an hour. Perfect for more time to walk around before the Kennedy Center performance. The food was Amazing!! The ingredients were fresh and delicious. This isn't a fancy Italian restaurant where you need to hold your pinky up. It's more modern/contemporary. Funny atmosphere. At 6pm the music came on and I was expecting an Olive Garden feel, but no Frank Sinatra. We'll definitely be back.
Happy Hour menu is a STEAL. - we got the board + bottle and a pizza for $20 per person.
Great atmosphere with outstanding service. Roasted half chicken was excellent..
Amazing food and service
Very nice staff, very good pizza! Super energetic and fun in there. Probably not the best for a quieter intimate conversation but love it!
My trans partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and the service wasn’t only horribly slow but ridiculous subpar. Seriously the food runners throes my food on the table and ran away before we could ask for a plates. Ended up taking our entrees to go just because it was that unenjoyable. We won’t be back.
