    Currently, my favorite restaurant in Louisville. The service, food and beverages are outstanding. The menu is inventive while being true to its New Orleans’ inspiration. Reserve ahead of time and get a barrel table. It’s a delight.

    Brought family in from Texas. The peppered catfish , roasted vegetables, boudain balls and the roast beef sandwich was a great hit ! We were there for lunch. Eric and Angie were so attentive and gave great service. A great place for lunch and dinner.

    What a great experience! Wonderful food, great drinks. Meals for every taste. Definitely try one of the riffs on the old fashioned - so good! Highly recommend this place.

    We got there an hour late. I left a message notifying them we would be late with the understanding they would hold the reservation for two hours. When we got there it was a big deal we were late. We got a table though. Since it was still happy hour the menu was limited to a few appetizers. The server did know the names of the few beers on tap. The charcuterie board was good and their bourbon selection was outstanding. To me, it's more of a bourbon bar than a restaurant.

    One of the best restaurants in Louisville. Menu is both comfortable and inventive (mirliton ceasar salad) and fantastically N’Orleanian.

    Thanks to the bartender at Buzzards Roost, we ended up dining at North on Bourbon on her recommendation. So glad I listened and canceled our other dinner reservations. This is a very small restaurant so make sure to make reservations. We were lucky enough to sit in a barrel to dine. Fun! Jessica was our server and took great care of us. She was friendly and made great recommendations. We decided to order a variety of things off the menu, sharing them between the 6 of us. So glad we did as we tasted many items. First off, the cocktails and bourbon at this restaurant are very good. These are the items that were hits with us…Oysters with Tabiko, Pear Salad, Chayote Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, Catfish Nuggets, Potato Wedges, Mac & Cheese. Just okay was the Sticky Quail. Misses for us were the Shrimp Yakamein and Hominy Pot Pie. We ordered the Banana Foster and Cheesecake for dessert. Both were good, but that cheesecake was a heaven! I want to mention the host who seated us, he was friendly and engaging. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Proof on Main used to be my favorite when visiting Louisville, but I think I have a new number one.

    Brunch was absolutely phenomenal. I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the buttermilk fried quail. Both were outstanding. We loved our drinks as well. We will definitely return

    food and service phenomenal.. not overly large .. we arrived early with reservations for the barrel seating .. pear salad and pot pie to die for .. buttered old fashion hit the spot .. we shall return

    Outstanding restaurant, with outstanding food, terrific people and service. With a party of four and we were seated in one of the bourbon barrel booths. Started off with peppered catfish nuggets. All agreed they were excellent and very tasty! On the advice of our waitress, Tammy, I had the Shrimp Yakamein. The shrimp sausage, broth, louiaiana chili crip, plus the boiled egg was fantastic! This is something I would never order, Thank You Tammy! My friends had the salmon special and the Delta Wet Salad, and agreed the food was excellent. Add a bottle of red wine and the evening out was outstanding. Highly recommend for those people looking for a night out of dinning with friends.

    Eating at North of Bourbon was a last minute decision and we are so glad we did. The ambience was perfect! The bar was so impressive and we loved the barrel booths. The food was so delicious and plentiful, and the dessert was to die for. I would recommend the restaurant, it will be an experience you won’t forget.

    Came for dinner and it was fantastic! They put a twist on classic recipes. I was hesitant at first, but everything we had was amazing. We ordered the caesar salad, pot pie, and gumbo. All delicious. The cocktail list was impressive and very unique. The drinks were just as great as the food. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to return and try new things.

    The food was good. The portions a little on the smaller side, but if you order several you can share. Nice atomosphere and large selection of bourbons and a good cocktail menu. Our drinks were very good. My only complaint is that the table we used had benches for seats and it wasn't very comfortable. We might have stayed a little longer and had another drink if it had been more comfortable.
