The experience was ok... nothing outstanding. I cannot say anything especially stood out for me other than the ambiance...which was fantastic.
Beautiful place, great beer and great menu. Our server was fantastic.
Food was to spicy for our liking. Afternoon sun was blasting at our table which made it very uncomfortable. Not the best summerlicious experience I have had. I would not go back.
Enjoyed the spot. Decent beer and the service was great. Unfortunately they forgot my dessert (so did I) but still charged for it. No peach cobbler for me!
I went here with my friend for their summerlicious lunch, priced at $23. I found the items I ordered to be too salty. Not sure if I would come here again. The food was cooked well and it would've tasted more delicious if it hadn't been too salty.
Great atmosphere and fantastic staff. Always willing to help and attentive to the needs of their guests.
Delicious food and inspired beer menu, but the music was very loud for a mellow crowd and the service was a little slow.
Would still recommend!
My husband and I just visited Northern Maverick for the first time this Sunday morning. We had the Summerlicious menu which was super delicious! He had the salad, buttermilk fried chicken and peach cobbler and I had the veggie pakoras, buttermilk fried chicken and the ice cream with fruit compote. Everything was delicious and excellent price at $23 per person! Our server Michelle was so fun and attentive! Loved the patio and the restaurant atmosphere in general. Would definitely go again and recommend.
Good food and great beer.
A touch pricey, but worth the occasional visit!
We had a groupon for a tour, two flights and some bacon popcorn. We had never been before, but were quite impressed not only with the impressive set-up but the bacon popcorn was surprisingly delicious, the in-house brewed beers were fantastic, and the bathrooms were SO clean (surprising how many places in Toronto slack in this regard)! We will definitely return and I’ll be looking for their lager in the LCBO :)
I really didn't like sitting in the VIP upstairs room. They should specify that before placing you there.
Waited for over an hour to get oysters. Got sick after as well - not going back.
Food catered to the crowd,
Meat pies are exceptional only available during wolf pack viewing parties
Was not organized and gave away the table. They made it up to us by giving us free drinks but they promised we'd be in front of a TV on the phone and it was not quite as promised. They did their best though given the mix up
The manager Jeff was very helpful and accommodating as there was a confusion with our reso time ! Great service
Food was absolutely great, although it seemed pretty expensive to what we got.
We always love Northern Maverick when we are in Toronto. The oysters never disappoint and neither does the beer!!! Great place to go before a show at Budweiser or Echo Beach too!
We were told the buck-a-shuck oysters would take 30 mins but it came out way quicker which was great and the special is a fair price for a Sunday treat. Otherwise, the servers seemed to not really know who is taking care of who and sections seems jumbled up. Food was just okay, burger was very pink and although tasty, the pork bao had such a small piece of pork in such a big bun it was not worth the $18ish we paid.
We went at a particular busy time during the NBA playoffs so it was very loud, but in the best way, and that’s what we signed up for. I’ve been there other times and the noise level is just moderate and quite comfortable. Dined at the bar but had lots of room and attentive service. Enjoyed our cocktail and beer selections. The Bao and BUNZ were particularly delicious and find myself still thinking about them. The octopus was recommended but we didn’t care for the texture... it looked grilled, but texture was overly crispy and crunchy. It wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend. Loved the squash fritters. All in all a terrific meal. Have been other times and enjoyed the food. Also a great venue for small events (great private space upstairs).
It was a Wednesday night during Happy Hour so it was busy. This may have been the reason there was long gaps in between when we saw our server and had to wait longer to get our drinks replenished. Our entree’s didn’t arrive at the table at the same time, as there was a mix up in the kitchen, we were told. As good as the food was I may not go back for a meal but stick to only drinks.
This is a great sports bar, good food and vibe. Our waiter provided poor service - forgot several additions to our orders, was extremely slow and appeared to be very nonchalant about his errors. On multiple occasions, we had to ask other servers for the items he forgot - they were very quick to help out. I would come back, just hopefully never served by him again.
It felt like Northern Maverick Brewing wasn’t prepared for one of the first nice patio days of the summer (plus a raptors playoff game). There should have been more staff as the service was very slow and orders were very delayed.
The order was mixed up and was missing an ingredient and returned to the kitchen. We just didn't feel like valued customers.
Brunch with my girlfriends. Food was amazing. We will be back for $5 mimosas. Shout out to Aiden the Manager. Made our brunch experience very memorable.
Great beer and food. Busy night and thus loud with after work Friday crowd.
The Raptors game was on at a very high volume when we arrived. It was so loud we had to yell to hear each other over the guy narrating every play. It felt like a man was yelling at us while we’re trying to speak. They even played the commercials at the same volume. Who wants commercials blasted at them? We asked the host politely if it could be turned down and he said he would see what he could do. We waited, looking over the menu for a while, but by the time the waitress came to take our orders, the noise hadn’t changed at all. We told the waitress that we can’t stand the noise and we’re leaving. It would have been tolerable if the game was played at a reasonable volume. I don’t understand the appeal of having it on so loud. The restaurant wasn’t very full so it’s not as if it had to be that loud to hear it over the people. We were very disappointed in this experience.
Ordered oysters, we had to cancel as our main meal was being served first. Although they still served them to us for free with apologies. Also no onion soup. I understand if it was toward the end of the day, but we were there for lunch with very few people in the restaurant. I just think that if you have it on the menu, then it should be available.
My husband enjoyed the different types of beer and the signature burger. I however didnt enjoy the ribs and I'm not a beer drinker. Ribs were dry and tasteless and fries were also mediocre. My husband would go back but I wouldn't. And they dont have dessert neither except for soft serve ice cream. Definitely not a choice for full sit down dinner but more so for beer drinkers.
Enjoyed my time at Northern Maverick. My fiance and I had a date night there and filled up on Oysters, Samplers, and tasty beverages. The food was good and the ambience was excellent! Great service, cool spot - I'd go again.
Excellent range of beers, extremely good quality food, nice environment, super friendly staff, in particular Marisa!
Toronto Wolfpack rugby team viewing party. Lots of fun. Staff were great.
I wasn’t aware that there was a special event going on. I wasn’t notified on their profile on the app and no one let me know when they called from the restaurant and confirmed my reservation. The who restaurant was full of rugby fans watching a game, and even a team-themed special. It would have been nice to know this beforehand for someone just going for regular dining. As well, I went at 12 on a Sunday and they didn’t have their normal brunch menu. It would also have been nice to have been notified about the menu change.
We went to watch the rugby game, great venue, fantastic food, knowledgeable servers amazing craft beer
Great atmosphere for the Toronto Wolfpack match day viewing. Excellent attentive service, very prompt and efficient. Portion sizes of the food could have been just a bit bigger, but the quality was excellent. The beer I tried there was one I will gladly drink again. Depending on where you were sitting it was a little difficult to see the video screens to watch the game, which was a concern I had before we went, and I asked them to please ensure that my young son would be able to see clearly. We needed to move after we had been seated in order to achieve this, however. Staff were very accommodating, but it was something that I specifically asked about beforehand. Despite the busy day, there was no 'rushed' feeling to get us to leave, and we were able to stay for a while after the match to enjoy the ambience and hospitality. Good job, we'll come again, and recommend you to our friends.
Great food and great beer. Not a great place to watch games, need bigger or more TVs if they hold sports events.
Excellent spot, service was excellent, servers are very attentive, polite and prompt.
Everything was excellent....food...drinks....atmosphere....service. Would go again
Chef Johann does an awesome job there. Shepherds pie is good
I just loved the oysters and the venison tartar, the service and the ambience are excellent and the beer flight is an amazing option to taste the most of the brewery options.
My husband and I each started with a flight. I had the lager/bitter/IPA/stout. The bitter was chai infused...really tasted the chai. I loved the stout!! Tasted like chocolate and coffee; two of my favourite things.
The atmosphere was relaxed/cozy and welcoming. Really enjoyed our time watching the Leafs game. The menu is fancy/up scale. We had mango habanero wings and truffle fries. Both were soooo amazing and delish! Our 2nd course was the porchetta tacos and the squash ricotta cakes. I found the porchetta pieces too large/thick for the tacos and I would have liked the ricotta to be mixed in with the cakes instead of crumbled on top. Check my Insta page for pics @live4urbody
We would definitely go back again!!
