A repeat visit. Friendly service. Kid friendly. Good variety for all food tastes. Would recommend.
A friend and I met for a Sunday brunch. We didn't partake of the $28 full brunch because it's too much food for us. We each ordered the same salad with quinoa, sliced roasted chicken, veggies, which we both enjoyed. Of course, their ciabatta , served with dipping garlic, red peppers, olive oil was delicious, as always. Our waitress was fantastic!!
Unlike before the Corona, the place was not crowded. GO! The tables are far enough apart, if you're nervous.
One of our worst dining experiences in recent memory. The mimosa and bloody mary were good although the server tried to charge us fir complimentary ones. The hot food was out too long so it was overcooked and tasteless.
Food was delicious! Our server was exceptional! Great experience!! It’s one of our favorite restaurants!
I have some dietary restrictions so I always appreciate restaurants that are able to cater to this. I especially appreciate when they offer menus that are already labeled. Very good food, service was amazing (for a Saturday night, our entrees came out very quickly!), and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Lunch at Not Your Average Joe's in Bethesda was terrific. Our waiter Scott was incredibly friendly, jovial and efficient. Since I hadn't seen my dining companion in some time, he allowed us ample time for conversation before ordering and our meal was fantastic. When we were seated, Scott brought over the bread and oil, garlic and cheese dip that is a staple at the restaurant. Unlike my experience last month at their Gaithersburg store where it was too gloppy and pasty, this was fluid and delicious. My cheeseburger was cooked to perfection (again unlike the Gaithersburg location where it was 3 temperatures too well done) and was garnished splendidly. My friend's chicken caesar salad was perfect and dressed properly, and was crispy and delicious. We opted for coffee after our meal and Scott put on a fresh pot for us. Who could ask for more? I highly recommend the Bethesda location of Not Your Average Joe's over for a wonderful time and delicious meal with exemplary service.
We were a party of four and had made a lunch reservation using OpenTable the night before our date.
The Hostess understood our seating preference and seated us away from
the ventilation system in a quiet booth.
We had the caesar salad, tomato basil soup, baked haddock, chicken marsala and chicken picatta. All of the food was excellent.
I highly recommend Not Your Average Joe's Bethesda
I would like to especially recognize the staff at Not your Average Joe’s. I was dining with my service dog in tow and the staff were all incredibly kind and accommodating, especially given that a guest at a nearby table was doing her damnedest to distract my dog. Excellent service, great food as always.
This is the second time I've met my friends here for dinner, but my friends been here several times for lunch. Sean was out server again. He remembered our previous orders! Was terrific. Loved the oysters and shrimp specials with our martinis. I was able to ask for a slice of avocado with my burger order. The Pecan-Sage Pesto Salmon, delicious! Flat bread pizza, also yummy.
Wonderful experience! Great food! I'll be back!!
Accidentally fell for $4 upcharge for the hummus along with the bread, but that's okay. The hummus was delicious. The olive oil, parmesan & garlic dip is sufficient though, ordering the other stuff is unnecessary. Food was good, service was decent.
The staff was most attentive.
The food was very good.
We had lunch at 12:30 and the noise level was acceptable..
We were pleased with the experience.
Great atmosphere and location. The food was excellent as well as he quality for the price. Looking forward to my next visit real soon. A must visit!
Had nice time catching up with friends
I love this restaurant because of its menu alone and what they offer to the Gluten-free customer. So many people I know that are Gluten-free do not know that NYAJ is that kind of a restaurant and after they visit it - they are blown away. I will keep coming and keep recommending.
My sister and I are regulars. Love the menu and specials.
Many options, everything fresh, staff is wonderful, very attentive.
You must offer MORE Vegan appetizer and dinner options. I would not recommend NYA Joe's to my Vegan friends.
Chicken piccata, shrimp rizzotto, and meatloaf all excellent. A number of salads have been very good. And the bread with their signature oil mixture is special.
Food was very good, salmon cooked to perfection!
NYAJ is an energetic, highly varied, and efficiently run restaurant. We started with Lobster Bisque and Tuna Wontons. Then it was simply salmon and haddock with great veggies like sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts, and saute' spinach. A nice bottle of chardonnay topped it off. Our waiter was excellent, timing the dishes just right.
For a buffet, the brunch was good. I would go again.
Always tasty food
Great bread and dip
Always reliable and enjoyable selections. Staff was super helpful with group and babies. Good time with good food at a reasonable price.
The room was so cold I had to wear my coat throughout. Busier than usual and so noisier than usual. The food was very good, especially the goat cheese salad. The goat cheese balls were rolled in crushed biscotti and baked served with glazed nuts, mixed greens, raspberries, and a raspberry vinaigrette.
It was Valentine’s Day and the place was super busy but we were seated at our reservation time, service was friendly and attentive, and food was very good (wine is overpriced though)
My wife and I took a couple who had never been before and they loved it.
Service and food were excellent. We’ll be back as will our friends.
The kitchen made a terrible mistake and cross contaminated my food when I specifically told them about an allergy. The crazy part is that the dish was not even supposed to have the item I’m allergic to in it in the first place. It triggered a reaction for me.
Ordered a salad with chicken. Chicken tasted as if it was cooked last year.
Very good. By the time we left the service had slowed down, probably because the restaurant had filled up.
It was great. The service was nice and the food came fast.
Very poor service. Each thing ordered was delivered incorrectly.
My wife and I became ill about an hour after eating the restaurant's haddock.
Food was delicious. We wanted to order desert but the waiter never asked and so we took a pass. Went elsewhere for coffee and desert.
First time at their brunch. Delicious! Scrambled egg bar, fresh roast beef and ham, salad, fruit. My picky son loved the French toast and bacon. I'll be back.
