Our classic burger on a martin's potato roll with joe's special sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. Add your favorite burger toppings:
simply grilled with seasonal veg and three rice pilaf
lightly breaded in gluten-free bread crumbs, topped with melted mozzarella and house-made tomato sauce with gluten-free pasta
Waiter was superb. He gave us space and suggested a way to signal him when we were ready to order. This is preferred rather than waiter continually coming and checking/asking if we are ready to order. We were disappointed it was only lunch items and no breakfast/brunch items (eggs, etc) on menu. We enjoyed the experience and will return for lunch or dinner not brunch.
This was my first time dinning here. The food I got was very good and the server was excellent. I look forward to returning and trying other entries.
Always visit when we are in the area. One of our favorite restaurants.
Service was not good in the beginning as it took a long time to get our drinks. Service improved later and our server gave our girls extra I've cream cups the food was very good.
I was with two little boys (5 and9). The waiter was absolutely wonderful with the boys. He is truly an asset to the restaurant. The food was great and the service was perfect.
This is a good place for lunch. They have a good clam chowder. The chicken Caesar salad was also good but the chicken was a bit overcooked.
Great as always!
Food is tasty but not very healthy. Portions were huge. Would prefer smaller, healthier portions. Restaurant is dark and quiet, no music playing.
It sucks that they canceled their happy hour. and $15 for a barely 9 ounce pour of a basic red wine?
There were out of Cabernet, which was disappointing and initially brought the wrong drink order. My water had something floating in it too, so had to request another. After getting through those initial hick-ups the service and food were very good and we enjoyed are meal.
Quick and attentive service.. Food arrived hot. Bread and oil always an added plus. Worth going for
Had a party of four there on a Sunday night and noise level was pleasant. Great service, satisfying food and bar choices. Was a nice stop as we travel through town.
Great food and service. I love coming here
Service at NYAJ’s is good and the bread and dip are to die for. The sirloin tips this evening were not very good the glaze was excellent but the meat itself was a bit gristly, not the normal for this dish. All other entrees ordered were very good.
Our greeter was great and he seated us in a quieter section of the restaurant as we requested. The food was good, although one of our party didn’t care for the fish and chips. The veggie bolognaise was good as was the poke bowl.
The best part was our waiter, Kohn, who was both professional and engaging in just the right way. When the fish and chips wasn’t well-received, he took care of the change with grace and no problems. I’d go back just to have him take care of us! LOL
Would have been great except for a seating issue. I requested an outdoor seat and with an 11:45 there were a lot of empty tables. My friend got there before I did and was in the total sun. I have a bad burn on my back and since nothing was ordered yet asked if we could not switch tables to one where there was some shade. At this point there were at least 6 or 7 unoccupied tables. We were 2 and the one with shade was a 4. I was told no that all tables were accounted for with reservations and we could not switch. Next couple, jus the two of them, came in and got seated at the table for 4 with the shade. Really bugged me and I was concerned that I was getting more sun on my already 3rd degree burn on my back. We got a different waitress part way in later who was delightful. Food was great and service was quick.
We enjoyed the outdoor patio despite the drizzly weather. We both ordered salads which included old lettuce and over grilled chicken. Focaccia and Parmesan dip are one of my favorites but the bread was quite hard and we didn’t eat. Definitely not routine for the restaurant. It appeared that there had been rain damage that day as the indoor floors had standing water so perhaps they were distracted. I’ll give the restaurant another try but was a bit disappointed that day.
The expression out of site out of
mind was what I felt tonight. Had a seat at a high top in a corner. I was half way done with my sandwich before our waitress came over to check on the food delivery and to offer drink refills, as my drink had been empty and I didn’t have water. My husband order a substitute side and he was half done before that was corrected. Took 15 minutes to pay bill once the check was given. Also, waitress was to bring us the October menu, never saw it. No straws!
During the week, the noise level is so much better than on the weekends. We had a great meal with friends in the bar area and were able to enjoy good conversation.
Very nice lunch. Waiter was awesome. Food was great
Great food m, excellent service, staff always friendly and attentive.
We enjoyed sitting on the Patio. But service was very slow, we would have liked more drinks and even would have ordered dessert, but were tired of the long gaps of service. The food was all large portion sized and decent flavors but almost seemed like someone was “trying to hard” . The pasta was drowning in sauce, the wraps were 90% lettuce. The server ad a good personality but was perhaps overwhelmed with other tables as the evening progressed? Was not my favorite visit to this location.
The food wasn't great although we had good service ! Looks like a place that is good for large groups.
Awesome evening all the way around. We had a fabulous server, a young lady who waitresses after her daytime job. She was delightful. We asked for some time to relax and enjoy the wine before eating outside and we felt served but not rushed. There were plenty of other vacant tables. The meal was outstanding, I had the sirloin tips and my friend had the crusted haddock and said it was one of the best she had had in years. We had just a lovely experience all the way around. Will definately be going back. Great job NYAJ!!
Family dinner. Great food and great service
I used to dine here a few years back and was always happy with the quality of service and food, but this is not the same Not Your Average Joes anymore. I’m afraid it is quite average. Very disappointed. Will not be back.
Good all around though the menu looks a lot smaller after covid. will definitely dine again.
Not Your Average Joe's is one of my "go to" places for a late lunch with friends or colleagues. The food is excellent and the servers are top notch.
Came because of their reputation for Gluten free options. Not disappointed
Ate outdoors. Food was decent. Service fine!................
Absolutely fantastic food and excellent service. Value was outstanding. We will be back soon!!
Taste of food was good but my wife had sweet potato fries was bit over cook and my fish and chip was unbalance portion. Two thin piece of fish was not right portion along with tons of French fries. Other than bit of disappoint of food, staff was great and enjoy the time
Amazing service and the food was really good but they sat us next to the server tables where a bunch of servers were just chilling and rolling silverware and talking (mind you this was at 6pm hours before they closed). Definitely odd considering there were so many available seats but our server was amazing and she was always on top of our refills.
Restaurant was packed.
The chicken parmigiana was over cooked and had a taste like it was fried in old oil. Disappointing
One of favorite places when we visit Reston. Have eaten there numerous times. Never disappoints!
It was wonderful. The food was awesome and the service impeccable. We really enjoyed it and will be back.
Our meal was fine but definitely overpriced for the quality. Also we were given a used small plate for our appetizer (like someone ate a chicken wing on it and left some sauce). Maybe it got skipped in the kitchen wash, but it wasn’t a big deal so we just set it aside. We had a kind server. Overall I’d say this is a mid-tier restaurant charging high-tier prices
Joe's continues to have efficient friendly servers and delicious food. It's a great combo!
