An above average suburban chain. Good food with very attentive service.
We had a very pleasant dining experience. The food was delicious, the service was spot on, and the selection on the kid’s menu made it easy to find something for everyone in the family to eat. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with the industrial elements, colorful accents, and soft Edison bulb lights. The only minor downside is that our table on the bench seat felt a little close to the next table. We had to move our table so the guests next to us could comfortably exit. Would definitely dine there again!
Great staff , friendly and timely service. Good quality food , nice presentation and taste good. Excellent value for your money.
We were celebrating a birthday. Our server was very personable; timely with our drinks and checking on our order. She came back to offer us dessert which was lovely. It was the first time for 4 of us and we all thought it was a really nice place, with good food and a compatible noise level so that you could have a conversation. The person that had been there before highly recommended the happy hour.
The waiter never came back to ask how the food was or if we wanted dessert. Just dropped off the check.
Server was excellent, very well trained and food was delicious.
We went there with our family. We have to drive to Reston now that they closed the Leesburg location, so we don’t get there as often as we used to. The food was great, except the summer special of fried chicken was a bit over cooked. There was a lot of it though, so plenty to eat. Service was great, and the bread is as always our favorite.
Awesome place to dine, salad and sandwich were very good
Very good food and good service. Haven’t had a bad meal at any NYAJ’s location.
Never had a bad meal, and the service is always excellent. Very accommodating.
We like the menu, but the service was horrible AGAIN. Had to ask for tableware. Drinks came one at a time with a 10 min gap. Appetizer came late, then bread a minute later (3rd request), then entree a minute later. Entree got cold while we ate the appetizer. Water never refilled. Server disappeared after food arrived, and we eventually had to physically search to get our check. However, the food was great.
We have had service issues on at least half of our visits. We will think hard before returning.
I love their cosmos and seafood fettuccine. But, I got the mustard crusted chicken this time and very disappointed— so dry!
It seems like they either do a dish very well or poorly. Bread and garlic dip is excellent. Jambalaya was so so. Tried the arrugula and prosciutto pizza. Crust was ok, inner dough was soggy, needed more flavor. Definitely not a place to go for pizza, at least until they get better at it.
Have had their lettuce wraps in the past and they were very good. Also had the crab cake appetizer. Way too much filler. Another bust.
Didn't have any dessert. Their app is awesome. I could just pay and be done... No flagging down wait staff. Tho the waiter we had was very attentive.
I will come back for the bread and garlic dip! And to try other items on the menu.
Service was probably the worst I've experienced in a long time. Food is okay but somewhat medicore. Probably better than a typical chain restaurant but when service so bad not worth going again.
Great casual dining experience - ESPECIALLY compared to last week's experience
The temperature in the dining room was pretty warm for some reason. Average to slow service, but the food was great.
Our family enjoys eating at Joe's. The food is great, the service very good and the bread is amazing!
We were a party of 5, but showed up as a party of 6 and you quickly figured out how to accommodate....yay! 2 of the 6 have never been to NYAJ's and are now huge fans.... I warned them the bread and dip are "crack" and they loved everything!!!
Great service. Drinks and food were delicious
Table was still messy with crumbs when we were seated. Server was polite and helpful.
Chicken breast was really small and barely took up half of the bun. Will be back but will try other items on the menu.
Nice wine selection.
My brother and sister-in-law were in town and I intentionally made a reservation for near the bar because there is always a fun feeling to that area at this restaurant. we got there a half an hour into happy hour and i loved the sangria and our family ordered some items to eat from that offering too.
I didn't really think my crusted fish went well with the braised brussell sprouts and sweet potato mash. These flavors aren't harmonious to my mind. My husband ordered a wedge salad and it was not a wedge when it came.... the clam chowder was good my brother said. so... not the greatest entre for me but oh well...
Great service and good food. Like the "summer" specials. Should keep them year round.
On top of the food being very good, our service was excellent!
Enjoyed our dinner and had excellent service, but the food was not as good as other times we have dined at this NYAJ's. The Tuscan chicken was on the dry side and the portions seemed a little smaller than in the past. On balance, however this is a vey good neighborhood restaurant for us.
The only downside to our dining experience was that our main courses were served minutes after we were served our salads.
Food was just ok. Decided to have a burger and it was not the quality I expected when compare to The Counter in Town Center. No offer for condiments for the fries and burger.
It was not a bad place but certainly having to get reservations kind of set the bar high only to get average food at an unreasonable price.
I'd like to give a shout out to our server. He was exceptional -- very professional, very sensitive to what we needed, but wasn't intrusive about it. I wish I had his name, so he'd get credit!
Been here 6-7 times now. It never fails to be excellent! Particularly love their flatbreads and salads. Going back in two weeks and can’t wait!
A group of us went to NYAJ for dinner. Nate, the best waiter ever, was wonderful. We started as a group of 15 and expanded to a group of 20 at two tables. We were not an easy group as we were talking and people kept showing up. Nate got drinks for everyone in a remarkable short amount of time and then everyone's order. The food, as always, was wonderful. I had a Cobb salad, which was very good. The Greek salad and tomato soup were excellent. The BBQ meatloaf was enjoyed as were the jambalaya and haddock. The service throughout the night was great. NYAJ was the perfect place for this dinner and Nate was the perfect waiter.
Everything was fantastic!
Great waitress and staff. The outside seats are a little hard for an old guy’s butt but I survived. Lol
My husband and I go there almost every Friday. We love the food, especially the bread! Today I had the BBQ meatloaf and my husband had the haddock dinner.
A friend and I were catching up over happy hour at a table in bar area and not only was our server's service mediocre, he proceeded to grab my signed check without asking for it or thanking us. While we ended up leaving in good spirits regardless, I called the next day to complain about the experience and one of the managers, Juan, told me that he would have a gift certificate for me next time I dine to compensate for the experience. I thought it was a nice gesture and both their drinks and food were excellent otherwise.
Our group really enjoyed Joe's. The menu had a great selection that worked for our diverse group. Each one of us ate the bread and parmesan butter because it was so very delicious. Irresistable. Our meals were great. We really appreciated that each meal has the calories shown on the menu. Everyone was happy with their meal. We'll be back!
Ordered entree salad without onions. It came with both onions AND jalapenos (which were NOT mentioned at all!). Server studiously ignored us throughout the entire meal so the salad was not exchanged. Portion sizes dropping and prices creeping up. Noise level does not allow diners to hold a conversation without shouting at each other. Not worth the exorbitant prices!!!
My husband and I were having a date night. I asked for a table by the window where we could have conversation and we were put at a lovely table in a quiet spot. It is quite loud in the restaurant. Our server Lexi was very informative, warm and friendly. The food was excellent.
Good family dinner on a weekend.
Spaghetti squash might not be everyone's "thing" but NYAJ makes a delicious version. And their bread -- don't get me started. Great dinner, as usual.
Service was terrific (will ask for Antwanette next time) but somehow the food was not as awesome as usual. Are you cooking the Brussels in horse radish? They had a very bitter taste - not at all like they used to be. And the chicken enchiladas (one of our favorite dishes) was a lot smaller than we used to get in Landsdowne.
Good choice for a business meal. Noise level is a bit high, but not too distracting. Menu offers a wide range of choices for a group with diverse preferences. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
