We ordered three of the pear specialty martinis. They were very tasty but were garnished with a dehydrated pear slice. They all had a mildew smell and tasted bad. When we brought this to the attention of our server, she told the bartender and she was told to tell us the cause was bruised fruit. What? We had two appetizers - the deviled eggs and the calamari. Both were very good. The food is pricey. For entres, one was the prime rib at $49. The vegetables were hot and good tasting but the prime rib was tepid at best. Another entree was the halibut at $42. It was overcooked, dry and tough. I had the rack of lamb at $42. I removed a foot long black hair from my food. That grossed me out. The waitress took the hair and my plate to the kitchen. The final entre was the gnocchi. It was very tasty and served hot. After about ten minutes, my plate came back and nothing had changed on the plate. I assumed they could not find any more hair. The waitress offered to summon the manager. After about twenty minutes. He arrived and duly apologized for the food and offered us a couple of free desserts. We declined. He then comped the prime rib entree but did nothing about my entree. This was a very unpleasant experience and I don’t think I would go back. They tried to blame it on a wedding party. Hey, if you can’t handle a wedding party and run the restaurant then make some changes. Personally, I think the problem is lack of supervision and enforcement of health department guidelines.

We opted for an outdoor table which came with the sea lion entertainment package. It might annoy some people but it was fun to watch them hassle one another. Very nice harbor view, The food was very good, I had scallops and my wife had a filet mignon. We opted for the fried Calamari as an appetizer. Very nice wine list with lots of local wines which we always appreciate. This a recommendation from our banker and she was certainly right about the ambiance and the food. We will be back.

I think our waitress was new. We ordered two salads. She brought us the wrong salad and then forgot to get the other. The halibut and duck were both overcooked. And we had to remind her about our bottle of wine. I was looking forward to dinner after reading the reviews. It is a beautiful room and location, although the food and service were disappointing.

We ate here for the first time. I had the pork schnitzel and it was so good! We were seated outside and it was gloomy and cold but the heater kept us warm and it was nice to be out on the harbor. The ambiance is really nice outside at night. Drinks were good too. My only suggestion is it would be it would be nice if you served bread as an appetizer instead of nuts. Also my husband had pasta and wished he had bread with it. We would definitely come again next time we’re in town.

Despite cool overcast weather we were comfortable on the patio with my friend's dogs. Our waitress was fabulous and the food was good. Nktes to the chef: My side salad was a bit wilted and cooked veggies on my polenta cake too few and over cooked. The egg yolk was not runny as advertised. At 10 am there was no crowd and overall we were glad we came and will return.

When they're on their game, I think the kitchen turns out the best clam chowder on the coast (ditto burgers). The calamari has been variable. This time, it was spot on. Beautifully seasoned and cooked. My friend and I both had the chicken Marsala--a popular dish here, which neither of us had ever tried. On arrival, it was visually very unappealing...a mound of brown (fried vegetable peelings with little color, on top of the chicken with its sauce, on top of couscous. The veg medley added some color, and was delicious. Between being on top of the couscous, and under the fried peelings, it was hard to get a good sense that it was actually chicken Marsala. Maybe it was that the sauce just needed more flavor. Service was excellent. Jimmy was affable and very professional. The rest of the staff were excellent, also.
