Nuba - Gastown
Fantastic! We love it.
We needed a restaurant for before theatre at the Playhouse. This one is convenient for that. We found the atmosphere on a Saturday night to be lively and fun. The service was good and prompt. We enjoyed the Grand Feast as we do like this sort of cuisine and it was plentiful but we couldn't help but think it was somewhat overpriced for what it was. The dishes were well executed, but more or less pretty standard stuff... Overall we were happy though as everything was fresh, flavourful and healthy.
Food wise, I personally prefer Jamjar, though I found the place in Jamjar to be a bit too small and crowded.. But then ambiance wise, I love Nuba location the one in Kitsilano (by Macdonald and Broadway). .
Lovely restaurant, great staff and interesting food. Would definitely visit again.
Attentive waitstaff, good value and food was great fun environment and the basement restaurant was nicely lite and has really cool welded design metal security screens.
We had a great time. It was Our first time at the restaurant. Definitely be back. Service was great
Was a wonderful impromptu date night. Food was amazing. We will bring friends back for sure!
Solid middle-eastern inspired meal in cool setting in Gastown Vancouver.
Lovely experience. My partner and I met here with some friends for the first time and the staff were all lovely. They informed me of what was and was not vegan on a shared vegetarian platter and let us take our time getting through it all. Can't wait to go again (and get even more cauliflower)!
Everything was excellent. I look forward to the next time.
Delicious food, great service! The lighting could be turned up a notch, that's my only criticism.
I had a great experience! I will be back soon
The waitress didn’t greet us with a hello. She greeted us with what can I get you to drink. Super strange way to introduce yourself. Food was inauthentic and tasted like the exhaust of grill/ broiler they’ve used to cook the chicken. It’s been almost a decade since I’ve been to Nuba but this was not something I’d come to. It seemed to attract many people so some people like it. It wasn’t for me.
Fantastic food and great for groups. Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly service!
The food is really great here and the staff are very nice! One thing however is that the ladies washroom needs work - first it was quite dirty. Also it just needs sprucing up with some thing! Lastly, the stall doors are difficult to get by - someone should look at how that can be improved.
Food is fantastic, we ordered 6 share plates and ate tapas style. Love the ambiance and the fresh food.
Everything was great, the two person feast was a perfect amount of food and all of the cocktails we had were delicious. Thank you!
Food was delicious and the flavours were unique and enjoyable.
so much love the Nuba. Love them even more as I left my water bottle there and they actually kept it for me!
Given the great reviews that I read, I was expecting really outstanding food, but it was very mediocre. We got the big Feast for two, and it was fine, but certainly not great. But maybe being from the San Francisco area I'm just spoiled :-)
Flavourful food! Prompt and courteous service. Start of a lovely evening before going to a pet Fannie at the queen Elizabeth theatre!! Great evening.
Excellent food, great presentation. Very good value.
Decent Lebanese food, but not spectacular. The main dish Saffron chicken was outstanding. The chicken was fresh, moist and charred tons of flavors.
The rest of the dishes, Trio of dips- beet/pomegranate, carrot, and hummus, not memorable. The grilled halloumi cheese over tomatoes and some sauce seemed prepared awhile back prior to serving. The dish came out room temp, and dry. Lentil soup was served lukewarm closer to room temp. Falefal was ok and I could have had it at any take-out donaire places. I have issues with food coming out lukewarm or cold when they are supposed to be warmer and fresh.
Service was quick and efficient.
We ordered the group vegetarian share platter, and added on the halloumi for 6$. Our server forgot the halloumi, then we reminded her and she brought it halfway through the meal, but charged us for the full $15 appetizer version. Other than that the server was nice and friendly with good service. The falafel and hoummous was delicious, the rest was quite bland. Nice atmosphere inside and unique drink choices.
Always consistent great food and service. Wonderful vegetarian choices!
We love this restaurant. The food and service are amazing. Great place to share multiple items.
Most amazing food and atmosphere
Nuba - Gastown has been one of our go to restaurants when friends visit Vancouver, especially those who appreciate healthy, fresh, natural and tasty food. Also, it is a very convenient location, just a couple of blocks from the famous steam clock in Gastown.
This particular experience did not disappoint. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The food was very nicely plated and arrived quickly. Also, the desserts were excellent too.
Nuba never fails to please. I have brought many friends and colleagues here for lunch, but this was the first time I have brought my family for dinner. My girls were delighted, especially my hard-to-please vegetarian (mostly vegan) 19-year-old! We all agree, the cauliflower rocks!!!
Good vegan comfort food — some excellent — and superb, friendly service.
We had a great time. I brought friends from out if I’m town and they loved it, especially all the gluten-free options.
Staff were very helpful and took the time to accommodate a small birthday gathering. The atmosphere and food were awesome!
Very nice Lebanese food at a good price. We had the platter which had a nice mix of meat and vegetables.
Our visits and vacations to beautiful Vancouver are never complete without a meal at Nuba. Never a disappointment/ always delicious 🤤
It's our favorite spot to celebrate birthdays because there's something delicious for everyone no matter your dietary restrictions/requirements. Been going for years, love it so much. Najib's special cauliflower is a must!❤
So delicious! Make sure you get the Najib cauliflower and the Brussels!
We were really disappointed. We used to take people to Nuba when they were in from out of town, and have recommended it to numerous people in the past. We haven’t been since last year, and found that the quality of the food has decreased. Also, usually when we get the Grand Feast there are good amounts of each item, however this time it wasn’t equally proportioned. There were tons of potatoes (which we didn’t think tasted good) and very little meat (which was dry). We also really missed the lamb lollipops. I must admit, I don’t think we’ll be going back.
It’s what I call my dinner trick! I bring any new friend, out of town colleague or really just anyone who will dine with me to Nuba! We even celebrated my 30th birthday at one of the locations. My favorite location though is the gastown location. - Carissa
We had the feast times four. Great food, leftovers for lunch the next day. Our relatives hadn’t experienced Lebanese food before so a great intro for them.
Always packed, but always good service. Food is unbeatable.
