We had a fabulous lunch at Oak Bay Restaurant on October 22/22. It was a beautiful day for a lunch date for hubby and I! We sat outside on the balcony with the beautiful sunshine and surrounding vista!!! Michelle our server is certainly a great asset to the restaurant, very professional, yet fun, and friendly!!! The food was awesome, thanks to the whole team!!!

It was a special weeding anniversary for friends of ours and the evening was perfect. All of our dinners and desserts were superb. The waitress displayed a loy of patience dealing with some seniors, hard of hearing and a little confused. Bless her. Keep up the good work!

We were in for an anniversary dinner and had a terrible experience. Overpriced, underwhelming, staff was clearly overwhelmed, food was nothing to write home about. $18 martini that on the menu was $14, when asking the server his response was “I am not a manager”. Halibut cakes came with 1 small cake for $21. $34 pasta entree was a small portion for cost. We were sat at a dirty table, brought dirty cutlery. We will not be back and will not be recommending- disappointed as we would like to support as locals.

The food was excellent but far too pricey for the lunch special - halibut and chips at $32. Beautiful location and lovely decor.

This is a lovely place for a special occasion dining experience. The service was excelllent, the food excellent, and the view and general ambiance delightful. The only thing keeping us from a full five star rating is the unfortunate need ('and we sympathize) for very high pricing. It's understandable in these times but it makes dining out almost prohibitive except on very special occasions, which this was (a75th birthday) and we enjoyed it very much. I'm sorry that we can't do it at least once a month due to the cost. You have a lovely dining room!

Beautiful views but the food and drinks are mediocre at best. There were 6 people dining with our party and we had Surf & Turfx2, Squid Ink Ravioli, Penne, Gnocchi, and Pizza. The food was lacking flavour/seasonings significantly, and the pizza was undercooked. Our server was great however.

We’ve had many excellent meals here and love Oak Bay, however this time we were disappointed. Hostess tried to seat us at a table at the back of the balcony area even though most of the tables on the balcony with a view of the water, and not the parking lot, were empty. She explained that she could not move the other tables as other customers were already seated nearby. However, on the phone call earlier that day, I had confirmed yes to sitting outside, so this should have already been ready for us. We were fine to sit inside instead, as inside is lovely, but did not appreciate that the hostess now seemed annoyed with us for not wanting the outside table overlooking the parking lot. Service was really slow , especially considering there seemed to be an adequate number of staff for the number of guests. One member of our party got served her salad significantly later than the others who had ordered appetizers. Her main course as well was served later and then it took a very long time for her to get a 2nd cranberry juice. It also took a long time to get the bill. As I already said, we love Oak Bay as we have had many great dining experiences there. Just disappointed with this one.
