The food was absolutely delicious. I did feel like the tables were too close to one another. The really need to expand the restaurant and make it bigger. It was packed but the service and food was Amazing.

The pizza we got was very good, however, the homemade papperdelle was extremely tangy to the point it was inedible. We didn’t complain, but beware of the pappardelle dish.

Fair warning - I usually don't cook with a lot of added salt. But fish/pasta dish was so salty it was almost inedible. Lasagne was dry, not a lot of sauce. King cake gelato was okay, but I've had better with more flavor. Tables are tight & restaurant is small so it's loud. Not a romantic dinner spot. Not a spot for kids because it's so tight. But service was very good -waiter & greeter very accommodating. Because the wait/greeting staff was so accommodating, I hesitate to give only a fair review. But for $190 for 3 people, it was disappointing.

Oak Oven is by far one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Everything is fresh and made daily. I have also been to their new restaurant in Mandeville which is equally superb. As a regular I am amazed by their consistency. The pasta and pizza dishes are my personal favoirites.

The manager was a little testy when we arrived. Because of a bad experience in the past with an order & service ( after 45 minutes our entrees never arrived & we quickly paid the bill & left ), I always call ahead & request Michael the server. We will not go there unless we get Michael because he is the best. The manager tried to give us another server even after I called & spoke to another employee & she said we would have Michael. After a couple of minutes we ended up with Michael & everything was great. !! I do not want this manager dealt with, however, I own a retail business & always pay it forward. My husband and I had the oyster appetizer, chicken parmigiana and shrimp fettuccine. It was all wonderful. Mike, our waiter could not have been better. Cannot wait to return and bring the family.

We haven’t been here in a while and we were lucky enough to get reservations in very short order. This was just a quick dash after a full day of shopping and was looking for a good place to unwind. Pizza is the main reason we come here so it was a given that we’d have one. A nice bottle of merlot got things going for us, nicely priced for what it was. We did the Americano as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. No fancy descriptions here. True Napolitano style done right. In the past few months both of us have pulled back on our food intake so we followed with a Parmigiano salad with grilled shrimp for her and I had the nightly special, which was a wonderful braised pork shoulder with a fresh stracci style pasta, small serving size. Wow! What a dish. I could have easily skipped the pizza and gone for the large serving. It was that good. This place never disappoints. As a bonus we were able to watch Joe Burrow announced as the 2019 Heisman winner on television. Nice reception from the crowd in there.

The waiter was not good. He put three grown men at a table that had benches. It was uncomfortable. He did not know the menu. The chicken piccata dish was excellent. Choose better staff and we might return.

This is a small restaurant, and they serve very good food. I particularly like the meatballs (lamb!) and spaghetti. They offer small and large portions, which works great for my wife and I, we can either split a large or each get "our size" entree. The Cesar salad with fresh shaved Parmesan is great, and the bread is always fresh soft and warm. All this, with good wines and nice and attentive staff, makes this great.

We've been here before, and always loved the cuisine. From the time you walk in, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Wince selection is good, and some entrees come in two sizes, so you can either take it light, or save room for dessert.

The food at Oak Oven is amazing and we will definitely be back. We will come when the weather is nice and sit outside because the restaurant is very small and the tables are very close together so you can hear everyone’s conversations.

Food was great I had a pizza and salad. Wood fired pizza was just right. My wife had the soup of the day and a pasta dish which she enjoyed. We also had a white wine sangria to drink which was great! We also were given bread and a dipping sauce while waiting on the food. Dining area is small but there is also dining outside as well. We made our reservations on Open Table and had no wait we were seated promptly and place was very busy. Great experience and will be back and recommended to friends already.
