What a wonderful evening; it was very pricey but the food, drinks, and service were amazing considering the high price. Would recommend for a fancy dinner date.

It's a great place to DINE and many of the servers have been with the company for awhile which is so nice. They know their menu both the food and the wines associated with the restaurant which means that they are working closely with the Chefs to produce a tasty and consistently beautiful meal. Many of the servers are trained in various levels of certification in sommelier training which appears to be supported by the company and a great selling point for the diners. They remember you if you dine there frequently which is delightful in this day and age of hurried dining. I have yet to be disappointed and plan to go there regularly for pre and post theater dining.

This was a reservation for my Mother's 60th birthday. She really enjoyed the dinner and cake that was brought to the table per my request. We will definitely comeback again.

Thank you!

Went for the lobster mac but I didn’t each much of it because it was extra dry. Just took it home and added some milk. Otherwise everything was great!

All good. My seat in the booth was oriented so that a streetlight shown into my eyes the entire meal. Disconcerting and distracting. A pull down shade would have changed my dining experience.

Always love Oceanaire where ever I am and DC is a frequent visit.. Hash browns are a must. Our server and his support team were top notch in making us feel welcome and giving us recommendations. I had the rockfish with lump crab and it was outstanding. My son had crab legs which he had been dreaming about while stationed over in Afghanistan. Now, if the maitre'd did not judge us so poorly and put us in the booth right next to the door (not crowded, plenty of other booths) the night would have been perfect. Just because you are in jeans and not wearing a button down does not mean you do not plan to come there once a month. Next time I guess I will have to wear my normal pinstripes to be treated right from the doorway, but then again maybe I will just stay in Eastern Market area for dinner for a while.

Just simply GREAT! We spent our 15th Annivesary in the Atlanta Oceanaire. We went to DC for our 20th Oceanaire everything spot-on from time we walked in the door.

This is a great place for a mid to high priced dinner. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was formal but not stuffy and it was not overly crowded or loud. The prices are on the higher side, but reasonable given the quality and location.

Outstanding oyster bar and delicious $1 oysters!! Very pleasant service, however, somewhat slow and forgetful server. Tuna Poke had bones as the tuna wasn't filleted properly. One of the managers stopped by and he was super willing to please. Overall, we'd come again.

This was my second visit here and it didn't live up to my expectations. Ordered the lobster bisque and it was served luke warm and sent it back to be warmed up. Then the crab cakes and roasted brussel sprouts were served luke warm. Sent the crab cakes back to be warmed up. This is unsat for this type of restaurant. I am in no hurry to return.

Valentine’s Day for two. Food and drinks felt a bit overpriced. Appetizers were better than mains (one of us loved our main and the other thought it was just okay). Despite the volume of customers, staff was quick and polite. If you’re gonna spend $200+ there are better places to do it, but otherwise a decent spot for seafood in the heart of DC.

Food was not worth the amount of money spent. Our server was not hospitable. He did not check on us, he simply took our order and we did not see him again until we asked for the check. I had high hopes that my husband and I will enjoy our Valentine’s Day here, however IT WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I will not recommend this place to anyone and definitely will not be visiting again.

My honey and I recently celebrated Valentines Day here. We loved our table in the offset room. Very intimate! It was magnificent. Our waiter Carlos went above and beyond. The food was outstanding! We started with a dozen oysters, 2 different kind, that were delicious and well shucked. I had the Alaskan king crab legs that came with 2, but they were huge! Lol. Tasty and more than enough. I took one home lol. My honey had the rockfish which he said was just okay. He fishes for his own so he's a little selective in that lane lol. However, the sides were very good and very generous! The sides can feed 4 people. We had the lobster mac & cheese, sauteed brussel sprouts, and the sauteed spinach. Scrumptious! Great food washed down with Moet for the occasion. The creme brulé for desert was wonderful as well.

There was a couple across the room where the lady was very loud at times. Everyone was a little annoyed by her loud nature. Eventually, she got the message as some people would turn around and scowl and she then lowered her tone.

Overall, we had a very lovely time and would definitely come back. The coat check was much appreciated too. Thank you!

This restaurant is way overrated. The grilled branzino was very good although a bit overcooked. Homard Thermidor’s taste was ruined by putting grated cheese on it before grilling (a dumb idea). The homard bisque was most linely not made and the grilled octopus had been grilled long time ago and was just reheated before serving it. All this is very disappointing. Poor value for the price (over $200 for two guests). Inattentive if competent service and rather noisy rooms. The worse? Very uncomfortable chairs. How is that possible?
