The Oceans 999 is the ideal location to host a business luncheon or to celebrate any special occasion. Patio serivce available during summer for lunch, snack and drinks. (weather permitting)
Soulless with slow thoughtless service.
We had a very nice lunch with friends. Good food and service in a lovely and comfortable space.
Great Buffet. Not too busy the day we went. Enjoyable. Lots of fresh options and variety. Delicious and a nice piano player. We celebrated our Anniversary.
We were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant, which is located near the lobby of the Pan Pacific, is comfortable and convenient. It also has a fabulous view. Our waitress was very personable—in fact, she was the best part of the evening.
We were so disappointed in the food, however. It was definitely overpriced for what it was. The drinks were weak, the steak was of a lesser quality, the vegetables were over-cooked and the dessert was uninspired. We really expected so much more from the Pan Pacific and unfortunately cannot in good conscience recommend Oceans 999.
they forgot one of our orders and so food came out of order. They also forgot one of our drink orders.
Salmon was over cooked and the skin was completely burnt on to the fish.
Came back from our cruise and staying one night at hotel. We saw good reviews on Sunday brunch. But the crab legs weren’t what was advertised. They were small crab legs and dry. Didn’t taste as fresh. The meats were good, roast beef and the duck. I also loved the Asian items, pork and shrimp dumplings and vegetable noodles.
They also had an omelette station but I was not in the mood for eggs.
They had assorted desserts. The apple strudel and banana cake were very good. The coffee was not hot when they served it. We asked for hot coffee and they did bring it to us promptly. They were very attentive with the service.
Had a great dinner and service was the best ever
Food and service are good. A relaxing place having lunch with friends.
Highly recommend brunch buffet.
Food was fresh and excellent.
Definitely going back again.
It's not something you can enjoy too often as it's very expensive.
Great views, food is very good (could use a little more selection), a Vancouver tradition
Great service always;however, the pianoist is an disappointment to us
Went to the Sunday Market Buffet Brunch the food and service was all top notch loved the Asian/Western mix would absolutely return.
Excellent brunch buffet lots varieties every item taste awesome I go this brunch many times before always excellent
A really good selection from Sushi to Dim Sum to hot meal, Eggs Benedict, Stylized Omelette to your liking, salad bar, seafood bar, desert bar, cheese bar, roast lamb, roast beef, hot fresh vegetables, all the coffee, juices and water you can drink. There certainly was plenty to eat and fresh all the time.
Unbeknownst to us, Saturday evening was an opera buffet. Not being a big opera fan, this was not a draw for me. But given it was hard to get reservations elsewhere, we stayed. Buffets are always risky. The salads and desserts were quite good with lots of variety. The 2 main meat entrees suffered from being on steam table -- overdone and not very appealing. The vegetarian option was a mushroom ravioli, which was quite good. There was a pasta station for individualized pasta entrees. The service for drinks was extremely slow, and the service to remove empty plates while you went for the next course was very slow as well. If I liked opera, I may have been more satisfied. I regretted not eating out on the patio and having a simpler, quieter meal.
If you want to have a meal in a scenic location that offers good food, this is a place to go. For sure, the Dungeness crab cob salad is worth ordering. Best cob salad I have ever had.
Food was good, not great. Service was attentive but our mains took forever. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant and our mains didn’t come for over an hour after ordering. The explanation was the bar on the other side was full and there were a lot of room service orders. Not good. View is still great.
My former colleagues and I usually meet here now and again for lunch. We like it quiet so we can talk but today the ambient noise was a little greater than usual due to some event being set up on the outdoor patio. Nevertheless, we'd have appreciated a table further away from the activity especially since I'd asked for a quiet area when I reserved. Other than that, the food and service was excellent as usual. Oh, perhaps the coffee is a bit overpriced at $8.00! Just a regular coffee, nothing fancy!
Best service team ever and keep up the good work!!
We had made a reservation as we were celebrating our anniversary. The service was for the most part very good. Dishes were cleared promptly when we were finished. We were initially given a table right in front of the pasta station and I requested another table as I felt there would be too much foot traffic going by our table and smelling the pasta cooking while we were trying to enjoy our meal was not pleasant. It was a special evening after all.
The music did not compare to our previous experience when the singers were Edd Wright, Dolores Scott and Ingrid Facdo. The opera singers were not as good. They were with Burnaby Lyric Opera and I think a couple of them were still students. We didn't hear many familiar pieces. They sang a few pieces from Carmen that I have not heard before and I have the recording that I listen to frequently. I enjoy light opera but I found for us most of the pieces were pretty obscure. One of female singers was brutal when she hit the high notes it was really harsh and hard on the ears. It was not nice music to enjoy while you were having your meal. I will check the entertainment schedule next time before we make reservations.
The food while good was not as good as on our previous visit. They didn't have steelhead trout but instead had snapper in a citrus sauce. Snapper is usually a very mild fish but this dish had a very strong and unpleasant taste to it. I have a feeling that the fish was spoilt. Even although it is a buffet they gave us a special dessert of caramel cheesecake and they put a candle on it for our anniversary. It was really good but we were so full that we ended up leaving part of it.
It’s really a shame the evening turned out the way it did because I had high expectations because of our last experience
We would still return but maybe not as frequently as we would have based on our previous experience. I would definitely check the entertainment schedule before making a reservation.
Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was 2/3 empty. They said they lost our order
Beautiful acoustics to listen to the Burnaby Opera perform. Awesome server who offered to take photos outside on the deck. Excellent food and beautiful waterfront sunset!
We had an amazing brunch, celebrating my husband’s birthday. It wasn’t too busy so we were able to request a table on the patio- which we haven’t done before. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was spectacular and the chefs were helpful, as always.
The wide variety of food is what this restaurant is known for. Great service. The perfect place to celebrate any special event.
There is very limited selection for the buffet lunch. The quality of the food is mediocre. Attendance to the customer is far and few in between.
Best service team ever! We are going back again next month!
The food was pretty good, the service was absolutely terrible though. Our server was basically non existent through out the entire meal, when my wife ordered another drink it took a good 20 minutes for her to get, my water glass was empty through out basically the entire meal. When we voiced our concerns to management she dismissed our concerns as if it was no big deal.
Live opera was good. Food selections are not there. Food quality is just average
oceans 999 pan pacific, thanks for my family's all things is batter of the food and services and Orchestra.
we'll booking for the Saturday June 15, by the 6:00 pm, we have four adult and one child by three age.
thanks again and regards Kelly Liu
Friendly but repeatedly slow service. Excellent food, waterview, and live music. Guitarist sings songs of the 70s, fun entertainment. I will definitely go back & give them a chance to improve service. My salmon was excellent.
The hotel itself and the restaurant were absolutely wonderful especially if you stay there before a cruise.
wonderful...but could be more variety of food on the buffet :)
The view was spectacular!!
Excellent food and service.
Very nice opera buffet nice delicious food thanks for our server Harry made it very special evening
Our servers were all very pleasant and worked very hard to ensure that our experience was good. Thanks to all our attendants
Fantastic location in the heart of downtown Vancouver over looking the water to the north shore mountains. Must for all visitors to Vancouver to experience
Our waiter Jose was very attentive to our brunch at Ocean 999. Thank you for a great time and anniversary cupcake. Food was very fresh and I enjoyed the ambiance as I had a great view of the ocean.
we went specifically for the opera aria performance and was not disappointed
Ambiance was very nice overlooking the water and mountains. Food was typical buffet, nothing fancy considering $60/head. It was nice to have live piano man playing. There was a hair in the sushi I was about to eat and all I got was a simple apology from a Manager. Server didn't seem to really care about it though. Would I go back, probably not worth it and turned off by the hair in the sushi considering it's at the Pan Pacific Hotel! Overall, wouldn't really recommend it.
