A lot of people including myself were expecting a little more selection of food. It’s fair to say that it’s a little overpriced based on what is being served at night. The quality of food were pretty good since they are hotel quality. However, it’s not really worth it.
Overall, the food was good except for the waffles. It was very very dry - not edible.
We love the Sunday brunch at Oceans 999 ❤️
Our first experience was for Mother’s Day, and everyone just fell in love with the fabulous staff, beautiful view, and eat-till-you-drop buffet.
We’ve been back at least once a month since then, and it has never failed us. Highly recommended!
A great treat for Sunday Brunch....wonderful different options to enjoy!
This was one of the most disappointing buffets in Vancouver. Compared to Notch 8, Sutton Place, The Arc, Dockside this Buffet was underwhelming. The staples of brunch are pancakes and waffles which are not where to be found at this buffet. Dim Sum had only one option Siu Mai when Ha Gao and Dumplings should have been the 3 bare minimum items. Seafood selection was very limited, I did not find any salmon/tuna sashimi, mussels, clams or scallops.
For foodies who don't like lamb, beef or salmon you will leave here very unsatisfied. There is no chicken, turkey or ham at the carving station.
There was only one deep fried option, vegetable spring rolls. Hash browns or Tater Tots would have been a great option.
Finally the most epic fail of the entire buffet was the dessert station. Consisting of the cheapest and most boring desserts: jello, mini breads, danishes and muffins, two types of cake, warm bread pudding, cheesecake sliced into tiny squares and chocolate cakes sliced into tiny squares and a tasteless creme brûlée where someone forgot to add sugar. When I go to a buffet I expect to be WOWED with unique food items and speciality desserts that I cannot experience at the local bakery.
The buffet is priced at $52, definitely zero value here and I guarantee you will leave feeling empty inside and hunger for a better experience. Even the $30 everyday buffet at the River Rock offers more value. I would strongly suggest the manager of food and beverage try the River Rock buffet and see how the Oceans 999 buffet fails in comparison.
Crispy Skin Wild Salmon was amazing. I have no words to describe just how amazing. I have eaten great food all over the world and this Salmon with the Watermelon Fennel Salad was the absolute best thing I have ever eaten. Way to go Oceans 999
Usually visit 2 or 3 times a year for lunch with some ex-colleagues. It's a nice quiet place to chat and enjoy the fine food on offer. Service is very good and unobtrusive.
The hotel is unique with its location. Not overly crowded, a pleasant atmosphere
No loud music. These are points why I liked my lunch.
Very good ambience and food. Our server was very professional.
All staff were very friendly and attended to our needs from the greeter at the entrance to NATALIA who is an asset to Oceans 999 for her pleasant disposition and service with a smile. Thanks yo all of you who made our experience enjoyable
Brunch was delicious, shared the salmon hash dish and blueberry pancakes. I would have gone back every day for that salmon if I could. Great service and beautiful view!
Very nice view over the bay. They had live soft music when we dined on a Monday, which was very nice.
ended up eating at the bar side... turns out the actual restaurant was closed for a “private function “ yet no one appeared. i think their overall profit margin wasn’t met for the restaurant so they ultimately decided not to serve. no one was aware of our open table reservation... we had to improvise.
Our server was friendly and very helpful. She was attentive and asked if we wanted refills on our drinks several times. He food was delicious, but pricey for the Market Brunch. We had dined there before when it was the Cascade Lounge. Although there was a good variety of food, there was less than before.
Baby’s First Birthday!
Thank you for the special birthday cupcake! It was sweet and thoughtful. We weren’t able to stay for the happy birthday song but the evening was perfect. We loved it.
We can’t wait to go back again and try the buffet as well.
The food and service were above satisfactory. But I really want to try their weekend brunch, which was also the reason why I went for a try.
Family loved it
My wife’s 40th bday
Great food. The cold bar is excellent, but I wish it had smoked salmon or more salad options. The warm food focuses on a couple dishes and excels at it. When I went the veggies and lamb were excellent. Would like to see a soup option to make the meal even better. My second time here and would come again!
Great seafood buffet! The food was the best we had during our stay in Vancouver. There were a ton of seafood options as well as lamb and beef. The dessert station had several options offering something for everyone. Our waiter, Jose was very attentive to our every need. I would definitely recommend the Sunday buffet to anyone in Vancouver on Sunday.
A nice brunch, if a little smaller than I expected (in terms of variety). Good view of Coal Harbour from high in the Pan-Pacific Hotel. Attentive and efficient waitstaff. My only real criticism is that other brunch buffets have had items like Roast Beef, shrimp, omelettes made-to-order, etc. This was, instead, a small, high-quality breakfast buffet with a few additions like high-end juices and lots of smoked salmon. Still, not as much variety as one would expect from the price, which is quite high.
Somehow, our visit this time, was not as good as before on the variety of food selections! Other than that, service and overall still very good!
Limited selection of food, smaller than river rock casino buffet but the food itself is good. Dated decor
The place was essentially the extension of a cruise ship buffet on dry land. This is not a seafood buffet if that is what you are looking for. I cam only speak for the saturday dinner buffet. I am sure the brunch buffet is much better. If you want to listen to their opera singers, i might recommend sitting at the bar/lounge.
Based on a Google search of Vancouver’s best brunches, we decided to give Oceans 999 a try. Housed in Canada Place, it’s a wonderful location with views of the water throughout the restaurant. Seated promptly, and was a little surprised that it wasn’t’ more crowded. I gather it’s priced a little on the itch side, even for Vancouver, but the views make it worth a special occasion visit. The website menu seemed to build up the variety a little more than what reality turned out to be. There was certainly enough for everyone, but I guess I expected a more lavish spread. Food and service turned out to be very good. Not sure if I’d dine there again, given that there are so many choices within walking distance from where we stayed.
We went for the Opera Buffet on a Saturday evening, which included a pleasant entertainment. The buffet-style food was great and service very pleasant. This is a lovely space and the photos online don’t always do it justice.
I love the brunch at Oceans 999! My family comes here for every special occasion (mother's day, father's day, etc.) and often just for the Sunday market brunch. The chefs are highly skilled, the service is always fantastic, and the view is breathtaking. Highly recommended!
Excellent brunch expensive but lots choices
it was a wonderful sunday brunch. service was awesome. food was great.
great service and good food. a bit expensive but it's all good.
The menu provided by the open table app is inaccurate. One of the main reason I booked this restaurant is because of one entree in the menu. Quite disappointed when I discovered that the entree is not available.
Great service and entertainment during opera buffet night. Only wish the chef at the pasta station was more friendly. The singers also did a shout out for all the folks celebrating an occasion and staff brought out cakes with candles which shows a true appreciation for their guests
Opera Buffet was highly enjoyable. Stayed the whole evening!
Food was outstanding. Server failed to ask if we wanted a cocktail and then disappeared until mid meal. Was a little noisy, but don’t know how you could improve on that in such an open space. All other service staff was excellent.
everything we had was a step above out prior 48 hours of meals. Fresh ingredients, thoughtfully prepared and presented and delivered timely.
They did not advertise a mandatory service charge of 18% and I found it a bit insulting they applied one to our bill for a small group of five people. Normal restaurants are up front about such charges. It is as if they thought I would stiff them on the tip. I usually leave 20% so they lost about 5 or 6 dollars and my custom.
Oceans 999 is a great place to go for an anniversary. The service and view were amazing! If you are a meat lover, this is not the place for you. The pasta bar is delicious, as is the assortment of grilled vegetables, but there are few meat selections. Though we are not typically opera fans, we loved the singers. This is a unique experience that is perfect for a special occasion. We will definitely go back again.
I really enjoyed the performance at the Italian Opera Buffet. Good food, beautiful view, and great live music! Nice variety at the buffet, although a bit limited for proteins for the entrees. The value I rated as 'outstanding' mainly because I know one of the performers, so my meal was complimentary. Doesn't get any more outstanding than free! I would have found it a bit pricey otherwise, but okay for an infrequent experience.
Have been to Opera Pasta buffet, none of the entertainments and food have been disappointed. We enjoyed every single second of our time being there. Food is excellent, fresh and well prepared + presented. Services are great, friendly.
Will do it again and again.
