Octapas Cafe is located in downtown Olympia, WA, adjacent to the iconic Capitol Lake.
We provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere with hospitality as our main goal. Our menu features local seafood and produce and best quality ingredients available. We offer a variety of small plates, entrees, oysters, mussels and steak, pasta and more. For those that imbibe we have an ever expanding wine list, a unique craft cocktail menu and selection of craft beer and cider, as well as creative n/a options.     The brunch experience was exceptional! Both presentation and flavor of entrees were outstanding! I can’t recommend the huevos rancheros enough! The service was also the best!

    I went here with some friends to celebrate my birthday. I got a table outside on the patio and it was just perfect. The server was super helpful and friendly, and the food and beverages came out at a perfect pace. Food was delicious and beautiful. Can’t wait to come back!

    Nice ambiance with amber lighting and decorative paintings. Service is always good and quick. Great cocktails and drinks selection. The food is hit or miss—the rigatoni pasta and the sardine tapas are always good. Carrot cake is the best ever! Other tapas and specials can be mediocre for big prices. Overall, a nice spot to get a cocktail and a couple tapas, but we don’t go often because the prices are a bit too high for the food quality.

    So, there we were, in the middle of Lacey, ready for a dinner that could go either way. Little did we know, we'd soon be dancing with the food gods. I ordered the filet mignon with bone marrow sauce, and let me tell you, if steak had a theme song, this one was a chart-topping hit. My husband, on the other hand, went for the New York steak, and I swear, if his steak had a fan club, he’d be president. Then came the chocolate and beet cake—a combination that sounds like a bad blind date but turned out to be the Romeo and Juliet of desserts. It was rich, it was decadent, it was... well, we’re still alive, so clearly, it didn’t *literally* kill us, but it was close! The atmosphere was just okay—nothing that would make you want to pack your bags and move in. But the service? Let’s just say our server was like a food encyclopedia with legs. They knew everything down to the molecular structure of the sauces. I half-expected them to offer a TED Talk on the dessert menu. All in all, if you find yourself wandering through Lacey, do yourself a favor and stop by. Just make sure you leave room for that cake—you might need a support group afterward.

    From the moment we walked into the restaurant it was so inviting and friendly. we had oysters, the Dijon Brussel sprouts, patatas bravas, grilled octopus and the crab cakes.. 10/10 on everything. the real star of the show was the amazin beet chocolate cake. that was 11/10.

    The food just wasn’t as good as in the past! Beet salad was not bad but soggy. Filet mignon was tough and overcooked and entire meal salty to the point of inedible. Pork chop was better but overcooked and dry. Very surprising because we normally really like the food.

    We had been here before for happy hour so wanted to try a Saturday brunch. The food choices were varied and amazing. I had the Creole Shrimp Eggs Benedict with potatoes - nice and spicy. We tried the Tempranillo Sangria for 2 - great and just the right amount on a Saturday music. The was a tiny bit loud but loved the selection - Go'Go's, Pat Benatar - kept me moving.
