Oddfish is a Seafood and Vegetable focused restaurant. Ethically sourced and high quality ingredients are what you will find here with the focus being on the food - not the fuss. In regard to the wine list - approachable and interesting with a great price point is our goal. The atmosphere is casual and fun. We are a neighbourhood restaurant that others from outside the neighbourhood come to for that welcoming atmosphere. We are the same people who created Nook and Tavola restaurants.

We ordered the seafood hot mess and really enjoyed it. We probably would have preferred crab in place of the lobster but all in all, the platter was beautifully prepared. Butter lettuce salad was a great compliment. We were there early in the evening so it felt a little roomier than at peak hours. Great summer spot with the patio outside.

It was so refreshing going out for a rare date night. We wanted to have a casual atmosphere with fantastic food and it was so worth it. Not only is the food amazingly fresh and great portions but the bar tables right up where the chef's action was the best! We will definitely be back and will also try Nook and Tavola.

I'm sitting in the restaurant, stuffed full of food, and i do not want to leave. Everything is awesome. Clams are big and juicy, sunseeker oysters are fresh and succulent, the spicy squid is amazing. Get also the wild mushroom and the octopus.

I really love this place. Ambiance, food, and service are stellar. The octopus dish is amazing and so tender. The only reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 is that the whole fish we ordered had so many pin bones. I understand that they might be aiming for a more rustic dish, but it makes for less than 5 star eating. The taste was great and the fish was cooked well, but I can't get over the bones. Nevertheless, I would definitely return and definitely recommend to others.

Great casually elegant local spot to take in or out of town guests. Creative food presentation and lively west coast modern ambiance. Hip vibe.

My sister and I were delighted with the atmosphere & warmth and friendliness of the server. The beet salad & fries were delicious. The perch special extremely disappointing & shockingly overpriced....$45! I have learned a lesson about asking for the price of special items. Despite being fileted, there were lots of bones which put me off. I would put a cautionary add on to any recommendation I would make. Don't order the perch. Ask for the price of items.

We arrived quite early so we had pick of our table. Our host was extremely welcoming and genuine. We were served at the table right away and our cocktails, appy and meals were served all at the right times. Our favourite dish was the mushroom linguine - pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavour was spot on. We will be back!

Appetizers were very good but too small for the price. Mains were hit and miss. Seafood Hot Mess was disappointing, especially for the price point. Seafood pasta special was also disappointing but mushroom pasta delicious. Nice room, great service.

How refreshing to be spoiled for choice for pescatarian dishes. The food and service were great. Our only suggestion for improvement is that the wait staff tell you if the dish is an appetizer or a main when they inform you about the specials. We could not see the daily specials board from where we were seated and ended up ordering an appetizer, thinking it was a main course based on the order in which our server listed the specials, consequently, it was less food than we thought we were getting and was too late in the meal to add another dish. Regardless of that, everything else was so outstanding we will definitely go back.

Food was good but portion was extremely small for the price. Price of halibut was $30 for a appetizer size, mussels good but very small portio for price. The pasta vongole was good but about half the size of Ask For Luigi and other top restaurants for the same price. Even the $10 fries was very small. For the same amount we spent we would’ve been full and had better food at most top restaurants in Vancouver like Annalena, Bluewater, Mackenzie Room or Ask For Luigi.
Very disappointed with my Mother’s Day Dinner. I told my husband to cancel reservations to Provence to try Oddfish.

My wife and I visited Oddfish for an early Mother's Day dinner. I ordered the fresh whole perch, which was excellent. The dessert, which was a meringue confection, was out of this world.

Server was very nice, room was attractive and full of energy, however the fresh sheet was sold out, at a seafood place

Saturday night and halibut, salmon and cod all gone.
We had the trout with a side of scallops that were a little fishy, along with the pretty good brussel sprouts.
No apologies from chef, nor bread to start.

Food was mediocre, the seasoning was very off. Some dishes were too salty and others were bland. I ordered the octopus dish but no where on the menu did it say charred octopus. The dish came out tasting rubbery, salty and interlaced with bitterness from the charred parts.

While innovative, many of the dishes were off target and too odd for my tastes. Additionally, beware the portions are very small and a $25 appetizer could very well be a couple slices of raw tuna tossed in soysauce, sesame oil and salt. Honestly, I could make many of the dishes no problem, as I can taste each ingredient. I felt truely sorry for my wallet, as we had to order 4 appetizers and 3 entrees for two people!! In the end we still were not full but we were already over budget.

Additionally, I went on a week day night and the place was crowded and very loud.

Nothing Odd about this establishment other than it is exceptional when so many fall short.
Frankly I didn't have any expectations but I'd heard Oddfish was "interesting" and worth a try. It was all that and a lot more. Often you know from the moment your enter a restaurant if it is going to be a good experience, this was one of those. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful (and fun), they looked like they love working at Oddfish. The wine selection was good and the food was outstanding. We had the mussels and the Wahoo special plus a cauliflower dish. Excellent all around. Super fresh. I would say this place is reasonable price wise and very good value. We are looking forward to going back.
