Oddfish had been recommended by several people and as we were entertaining out of town guests, we thought it would be a great time to go. It was outstanding. The waiters were knowledgeable, happy to suggest and not wrong! The wine list was pricy but good. The food was delicious. It was a great night.

We had a nice meal at Oddfish. I think some of their dishes seem rather overpriced but isn’t that the case everywhere these days. We had the Tuna Tataki — good, Scallop special —- very good, smoked fish cakes — good but stingy portions, endive and pear salad — very good and the broccolini — very good. We were seated at a corner table on the patio which was a little chilly but I hate having a heater on my head so didn’t ask them to turn up the heat. I would definitely go back.

The room is really nice and the servers very efficient and friendly. The food was all very good, particularly the whole fresh fish from New Zealand that we ordered. My only criticism is that if a seafood restaurant charging a very tidy sum for dinner is offering a whole fish, they should prepare it for the table. We asked for the spine to be removed and while the kitchen did do it, it was treated like a bizarre request. I've eaten in many, many seafood restaurants and the standard practice with a whole fish is for the server to remove the spine and prepare the fish at the table, or sometimes the kitchen does it. If I wanted to debone and prepare a whole fish (without proper utensils I might add), I would stay at home. I go to a restaurant to have my food prepared. Train your staff or don't offer whole fish.

Everything was good with the food as expected, except when I phoned for the reservation I said it was a birthday event. The staff didn’t ask anything and said “we’ll take care of it”. All they did was bring a dessert at the end with one candle and then charged us for something we didn’t ask for. Is this what they mean by take care of it? That’s disappointing service. If they are going to do this, at least inform us and give some options, if we choose to have dessert. As it was, we were full already.

We had oysters, sour dough, spaghetti with clams and butter lettuce. All tasty, sour dough nothing special wish I ordered a different appie. Dessert was amazing salted caramel. I also tried two cocktails, el po po which was good and a rosemary drink on special which I didn’t like as much. Overall good experience.

Having had 2 previous outstanding visits to Oddfish, we decided to bring relatives for a special evening out. Cocktails ($18) were a miss - I asked my passionfruit one to be less sweet, it arrive without any sweetener and was a bit like drinking a glass of flavourful vinegar, so a disappointing start but not a dealbreaker. The server sold us on the crudo sampler ($45) which disappointed all of us both in size and flavour - take a pass on that one and order the ceviche instead. Fries were super tasty and although good, can't say they were the best in the city (as touted by our server). The wine list, which I recall in the past as having a number of BC wines, has changed to harder to find and more expensive wines so we decided to pay corkage ($40) and bring our own. Mains were solid - linguini vongole arrived piping hot and full of clams with house-made linguini, and my brother said his halibut, albeit a small portion, was very tasty. And the lemon posset was was the winning dessert. Overall, a few misses and a few hits but would have to rethink visiting again anytime soon.

Went to Oddfish with friends for my wife’s birthday. The server was outstanding and did a great job explaining the menu and what we could share as a group of six. Both the sole and halibut were fabulous and I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts.

Loved it. Friendly service. Oysters were 👌, the mackerel..holy mackerel! So good. Olive oil cake was best I can remember ever having. Everything fresh and delicious.

The service was excellent and we loved every bite of food. Unfortunately, the noise levels from the kitchen, other patrons and music made talking during dinner almost impossible. Also the music in the bathroom was very loud for some reason. We’ll be back for sure but maybe not on a quieter night than a Friday.

Every time we dined at Oddfish, it has been a very satisfying experience. The food was always fresh, seasonal and tasty. The serving team was amazing. It’s seldom to see familiar faces for a number of years in restaurants these days … which goes to show something about how staff members must be treated and in turn, they created a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended on my list!

Food is excellent but quite pricey. $5.75 for one oyster. $16 for a 5 oz glass of wine. Only place I have ever dined out where the size of a glass of wine is less the 6 oz. Spaghetti alle vongole were worth every cent at $35. The pasta is made in house & there were SO many clams in the dish. Better than what I have eaten in Italy. The octopus carpaccio was also delicious. I will definitely return.

Big fan of this place. Had a last minute dinner with a friend who's vegetarian and all their veg options are outstanding. We had the beet salad, and the butter lettuce. With marinated olives to start... Plus 3 daiquiris, lime, raspberry & Passion fruit.

Love the food here at Oddfish, great taste and beautiful presentation! The noise level was a bit too much for us, but we could tell it is popular for a good reason! We will definitely return to try the other dishes.

The food and service were outstanding as usual. We sat outside because I know it can be noisy and one of my guests is older and has compromised hearing. The noise was so loud, even outside, that I could only converse with my guest seated immediately beside me. Could you look into some noise absorbing solutions? Table cloths, carpeting, curtains and sound baffles hung from the ceiling could help. Otherwise, it was a memorable experience.

This was a real surprise and a gem! Impressive wine list, pricey but backed by quality, best oysters I’ve had in a long time, love the fennel salad and the ceviche was a delight - tangy and acidic balance with halibut and baby shrimp. I had the spaghetti with Dungeness crab and my friend had the mussels/clams which he polished off with extra bread. Highly recommend for the serious seafood lover who wants a first rate dining experience!

I was disappointed by Oddfish. It was not a bad experience, it was simply that it didn't live up to my expectations. The food was nice enough, presentation was acceptable, but it certainly wasn't worth the final bill. I am more than happy to pay for a good, memorable experience, but this wasn't one. Lower your expectations, come with a full wallet, and you will enjoy it.

Whether catching up with friends, or celebrating a special event, Oddfish is always incredible. Dishes are delicious, creative and beautifully executed, service reaches fine-dining standards, but feels relaxed and welcoming, and the space is lovely. One of the best kept secrets in the city!
