Food was good, service was quick but not overly attentive. Music was blaring which made conversation challenging. They seem to be very attentive to Covid and keeping things clean. Also noticed the outside patio where they had blankets and heaters available.
Good cocktails, good food, pleasant servers.
I tried the blueberry pancake, egg benedict, and the waffle chicken. The food was amazing.
The food was amazing. I had the pancakes and are easily one of the best pancakes I’ve had. The ambience is really nice, music is not too loud and the overall experience was just great.
Food was amazing
Very cool menu! I even vlogged about my dinner here on YouTube if you wanna see the food up close! Search: TorontoUnicorn
Great music and vibe, friendly staff, quick service. The space is well designed, stylish, and clean. The food was super tasty, came quickly and it was not too crowded or loud. Would go again!
Great food, fantastic servers, my new favourite local….
Got the fried chicken and waffles but the chicken was super fibrous. The waffles were amazing however.
Fabulous food. Not too many choices, but all of them sounded so appealing it was hard to decide. Very generous portions. Service was prompt and amusing. They accommodated a baby sleeping in a large stroller.
The food was delicious and service was great. I highly recommend this spot. Thank you!
Weather is beautiful for outdoor dining last Sunday. We had a relaxed brunch. However the waiting time for the food is super long. The restaurant is super busy. Food is good.
Love the waiter!! But Went to have a good brunch : too expensive and no vegetarian option
So we left and paid just for a mocha, it was so bad, no chocolate in it.
Never had Blanket and pillows by the way, and service was long just for a bad coffee.
However The place is very beautiful !!
food was great, servers were very kind and quick! will be going back 100%
Food is DELICIOUS and the portions are very generous. Service is so so lovely and it's just a fun spot.
I haven't been here in the last 2 years. My fiancé and I decided to go for brunch at Oldskool. We made a reservation with a special note which was accommodated so was happy with that. The ambiance was ok - the tables near the entrance were very close to one another. It was difficult for ppl to sit down without bumping one another. The staff also had difficulty walking by as well. The front door was left open and although it was 13 degrees out it was quite chilly with the wind which made our food cold quickly. The staff was amazing with service no complaints there. Food was just ok - I ordered the egg benedict with fried chicken. I found not very flavourful but the side salad was great. I enjoyed that part of my meal most. Probably won't be back here anytime soon.
The host and the patio were absolutely great, it also seemed to have a great atmosphere inside.
Our server didn’t write down our order so on two different occasions he came back to us to ask what we had ordered. When my friend asked what one of their drink specials was he responded rudely and then when our food arrived two of four dishes were cold.
50% of the food ordered was good but it definitely didn’t love up to expectations and was more expensive than it was worth.
Pros: the host, the ambience, the heated patio and the coffee!
Tables were packed very close to each other which made restaurant very crowded and noisy; could barely hear each other without yelling and not ideal for COVID times. Hot chocolate was sickly sweet to the point of being bitter. Blueberry pancakes were ok but very one-note for such a big portion. Overall mediocre experience.
I was looking for the best pancakes in town and Old School didn't disappoint. The hot chocolate was absolutely perfect and the "Blueberry Hill" pancakes were to die for. I am already looking forward to going back.
The place is really cute and welcoming (blankets were provided to have brunch outside, mid-October). And the staff super friendly.
Food was fantastic staff was excellent
Everything was awesome from the minute I walked it! Very friendly and courteous staff! Service was excellent.
We were seated outside near a heater--it was chilly but the heater worked well. The patio was very nicely designed and, though full, was well spaced. The waiter was good--on his second day of work--and the food was good. The blueberry pancakes came in an enormous portion; the scrambled eggs dish had good beans, sausages, and potatoes but the egg portion was very small--1 egg? All in all, a pretty good experience.
Pancakes are good / not the best in town (hard to beat Mildreds ) seating is very good . Service is good . Overall good place
Food was comparable to other brunch places in the city. Our waitress was amazing but the food took 45 mins to arrive without being informed of a delay. When it did arrive it was cold and the eggs were not cooked Benedict style.
Chicken and waffles were awesome! Great size portions!
Everything was amazing. Our server Ginger made the great experience a fabulous one!!!! Will definitely be back, can't wait.
Will go back.
It was not busy but the server was rather disinterested in serving us.
Made multiple mistakes,
Amazing service staff! The patio wasn’t busy at all so if you are looking for a quiet dinner (with great music) this is a great spot! They had a dinner special of $1/oz wine and half price apps so the value of our experience was unbeatable. I am excited to try brunch at Old School- which we heard is a busier but fun time to dine.
Great all around except for the male server who was trying to upsell extras, and then proceeded to shame the friend who made it clear it was pretty shady when she got her bill. Would come back if we wont get this server again.
This place really hit the spot for a nice Sunday brunch.
Food wasn’t good
The service was terrible. And the tables were dirty. There was a fly trap next to our table. Never going back. I waited for over 15 minutes and no one attended to me and I left for another restaurant.
Loved the food and my waiter Ginger was amazing. I will definitely be going again, already have plans.
Brunch was fantastic.
Great service, delicious food, lovely outdoor area and nice coctails’
A waitress( a white mid age lady with a Poly tail) has impatient attitude
My friend got the pancakes which were amazing but my chicken and waffles was dry, both chicken and waffles, chicken was unseasoned. There were wasps flying around everywhere and the staff did not seem to care about our safety and well-being. Great pancakes though!
amazing restaurant, delicious food. our server was very kind and let us sit at by the neon sign. overall very good experience
We were seated inside, group of 7 ladies for a bachelorette. We were so excited to finally be able to try out Old school, but unfortunately our experience was not good. Our server was not personable at all and overall quite rude. Did not introduce herself, ask if we had any questions. Simply walked over, stared at use and said “who’s first” with a rude demeanour. Throughout lunch, she rolled her eyes when one of the ladies asked if her coffee was coming and never came over to check up. After paying our bills (which already had %18 gratuity added due to us having 7 people), she basically just took our money and walked away without saying thank you for the tip she did not even deserve in the first place or saying goodbye. Loved the location and vibe, but that was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and put a damper on my friends bachelorette.
