Wow!! If you need to impress or pamper yourself look no further. Scott & Mel were very attentive and knowledgeable with the menu items. We both had the A5 ribeye and words cannot describe the quality of the perfectly prepared steak. Armando (sommelier) suggested the most amazing Malbec I’ve ever had to accompany the A5’s. My friend and I have a traditional Christmas dinner every year and Oliver’s will be difficult to top. We might have to come back.
Server was exceptional, food was incredible. Love this place and will always keep coming back never disappoints!
Rated value in the middle only because you don’t go here for that so I am not sure that is relevant.
It is high end dining and they most certainly matched the expectations.
Prices have definitely gone up but still a very nice upscale restaurant with good food and service
Best Italian and Steak house in Oakville by far. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu and have never been disappointed with anything.
Good food. Good service. Good ambience. Recommend
Perfect evening - the complimentary appetizer and potato bread a delight and steak perfect, waiter lovely
Just a bit slow -.dinner arrived in 2 hours
Otherwise a great evening
Excellent meal, service and the quality of food was as expected. This is the place for the special occasions, where you need to be less price conscious.
This will be a special occasion spot for my husband and I!
WOW! This was the best dinning experience I’ve ever had. The food was fantastic. The attention to detail in each dish with flavours, presentation, freshness , quality, temperature... mind blowing. We ordered for appetizers the Tuna Tar-tar, beef carpaccio, calamari and their beat salad which was a special of the night. Their in-house baked bread was something I’ve never had before. The texture was dense and soft, melt in your mouth with perfect salted crust. I’ve never had anything like it. For my main I ordered the lobster gnocchi. Soft pillows of heaven. We were treated like royalty. The decor was very inviting. The service was very well orchestrated. Kind. Attentive. Did not feel rushed. I will be back.
Great service, food was excellent. Prices for lunch are absurd. Way higher than peer restos in Toronto.
The food and ambience don’t match the price point. There were more staff than patrons which speaks volumes in DT oakville where getting a same day reservation at other restaurants is impossible. My steak tartar was too acidic and looked like ground chuck. The fries and sauce were wonderful as was the cocktail. Oysters were fresh but the house speciality I.e. steak was not memorable as the prices would suggest. Terribly average and therefore an overall disappointment.
It was my parents 25th anniversary! Oliver’s steak house made my parents day extra special! They went above and beyond for them and I really appreciate what they had done. Love the place, the staff, the kitchen and the service A+++ We will be stopping by regularly! Thank you so much
We dinning out on Remembrance Day , for forgetting those hurts. Just forget my Harry is leaving me away so sad
Olives steak house never disappointed us, the steak always outstanding! All the people work there are lovely and nice .
Kansas ribeye is absolutely amazing. Buttery and tender. Nice spot in the charm of Oakville
Excellent dinner overall. Haven't been here in years. It was great to go back.
We came to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday and the mean, the service, the ambience and the beautiful and unexpected birthday dessert creations made this a moment to remember and hold dear! Thanks to Michael for running such a wonderful restaurant and staff and ensuring that every meal is an occasion! Cheers!
What an amazing service and exceptional food. Worth going there for special occasions.
The food was excellent. The service was ok. We thought the servers were distant and not that friendly or personable. Everyone seemed so serious.
Prices were outrageous. $38 for a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
We don’t expect to return anytime soon.
This is the best restaurant in Oakville, very high quality, excellent service and its pricy!
However,it’s good value if you wish to have top quality. My in- laws are planning a dinner in the private soon very soon and I told them they will not be disappointed! Thank you.
To say that we enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Oliver’s would be an understatement, the food, the ambiance and service was impeccable. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our evening. The food was delicious. Best rib eye I have ever had. Our dessert was beautiful and so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
The food at Olivers never dissapoints. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We were there for a birthday celebration, and the management presented a birthday dessert, which they comped! Nice touch.
We visited Oliver’s to celebrate our 31st anniversary.
Food & service was outstanding .
Good and service very good but it is very difficult to find a parking spot.
The food and service was impeccable! Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for the best steak in town!!
Food was excellent, service was very sub par. No utensils until we asked, ordered wine that was never brought until asked again before main course, steak order(wellness) incorrect.
But food is great
Overpriced food, have had much better steak elsewhere
$100 Ribeye steaks should not be overcooked and under seasoned. Sides were great but when you are paying over $200 per person then you hope to go home happy. Other steakhouses in the area, including chains, have offered a better product.
Was our anniversary
Was recommended by a friend
The service was over the top
Never had better service
Food was excellent
Will be back
Thank you for a GREAT night
Extremely overpriced for the quality and value of the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, not excellent. We ordered, beet salad, 12 oysters, $96 Dover Sole, $100 Kansas Ribeye steak and $25 Mac/cheese, not to forget a $165 bottle of Justins Cab/Sav that you can buy at the LCBO for $35 a mixed drink for $24 and $11 bottle of water.
The Dover Sole is not worth $96...nor is any fish dish that I could make better at home.
The steak was overcooked, I ordered it Med/Rare and it came well done. The waiter acknowledged and stated "it happens" and "Human error" but also said that "he would not make a new one" and offered to "comp our desserts (which would be a $40 value" vs the $100 I had paid for it.
This restaurant is not here to cater to the working class and seems put off by anyone who may question quality or even price.
In the end, I declined the dessert to which the water begrudgingly offered to comp the steak after I informed him that I did not enjoy the meal.
I am by far not a cheap person, and have a household income far above the general public, but I do no consider myself rich by any means, so this review is coming from an extremely honest place. We still spent $560 /tip inc. for subpar food even with $100 taken off.
Do not visit this establishment unless you have money to burn and do not care about value. There are much better restaurants in Oakville like Cucci or Rust in Burlington where the price to value is much more worth it.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. Food was top notch, service even better. Fantastic dining experience. Well worth the price.
Celebrating a friend 40th .. was such a beautiful dinner . The staff at Oliver’s are so friendly and professional. From the superb wine recommendations to the beautiful presentation of the food everything was just perfect . Thank you
Can’t believe they called and cancelled my reservation at 9:10 for a 9:30 confirmed reservation table. My dinner time is 7, however I still delayed the dinner to go eat at this restaurant. Service and respect for guest can’t get worst than this.
The ambience was good. Customer service good. But the steak was okay. Nothing special at all. Meat quality wasn't good.not tender not enough flavor and its super over priced for that quality. For that price, I was expecting a great quality steak. Also it doesnt come with any side at all one big plate with just one piece of meat not even a small decoration or vegetable.and took and hour to be prepared. I would not go there again.
Our go-to place for a special night out. The service is untouchable and the wine list the best we've seen in the city.
Excellent food and service. A must do if you have not experienced Oliver’s Steakhouse. Highly recommended.
wow...this is possibly one of the greatest restaurants in Canada..
Great meal and wine selection! Will be returning!
reservations were made for 7:30 and did not get a table until 8:30
Table service excellent. Food took over an hour to arrive which was frustrating and turned what could have been a great evening out for my wife’s Birthday into an annoying “where the hell is the food” experience.
