The name ‘Olo’ means ‘hungry’ in Chinook Jargon, a derivative language of English, French, Chinese and Chinook. The Pacific Northwest was once a gathering place for traders from all over the world... French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, First Nations and more; at OLO these influences are integrated into a cuisine that showcases the Cascadian region.
We are lucky to have access to the forest, farms, and ocean here on the West Coast. We are a restaurant that believes in sustainable farming practices, seasonality, and knowing the stories of the growers.

Absolutely. we love it there. I can't stop telling everyone about it.
The lamb duo was absolutely delicious and the wine outstanding. Service was excellent. I would definitely refer this restaurant to a friend and we will definitely be back.
I have visited OLO a number of times and twice in the last weeks. It is an exceptional restaurant - imaginative menu, locally-sourced items, wonderful presentation, great cocktails and a perfect wine list. The most amazing part however is the service. Every time I have been there the service has been above and beyond but the most recent time was probably the best. Our server, Carson, was welcoming and professional with an incredible knowledge of what she was serving, in particular she had a deep knowledge of the wine list and spent a fair amount of time educating us about the wines and providing excellent suggestions to match the food.
OLO remains one of the very best restaurants in the area. The food and service are impeccable. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to advise on wine pairings. The refresh of the decor has also added some nice touches. Highly recommended.
Olo has been a favourite restaurant for a couple of years but no longer. The meat, in my case flank steak, is presented as a thick dull but perfectly uniform brown/grey surface. The soups vide and whatever method they use to finish renders the steak as unnatural and unappetizing. The vegetables were all over salted. The cheeseburger was dense, highly salted and almost inedible. Nothing stood out as exceptional at our table of 6 except for the fried mushrooms and the excellent chocolate cakes.
Every time I go it is outstanding. Great friendly & knowledgeable staff, excellent food, and a warm & welcoming atmosphere. Definitely at the top of my list to bring people visiting Victoria who appreciate great dining
The restaurant was absolutely delightful! All wait staff were energetic, kind and good-humored. The food was uniformly excellent. The atmosphere was convivial and the space lovely and intimate.
The meal was fantastic from start to finish. We ordered the gnocchi for a starter, and we agreed we could have eaten that all night, the flavors were just right. Had the duck and my niece ordered the steak and we loved every bit. My niece told me it was the best meal she's ever eaten - it surely ranks in my top 10.
Some restaurants try to be great. This one is great without fuss. Great food. Great service. Knowledgeable and interesting service. Sophisticated simplicity. Understated elegance.
What a delicious dinner! I had the Lamb Duo, my wife had the Duck Breast, both beautifully presented and really wonderfully tasty. Started with well made cocktails, and a bold Syrah with dinner. Friendly, unique restaurant, and we will be back!
Carson was a delightful server who looked after all our special allergies. The drinks and food were also amazing
We celebrated my eldest son's University Graduation at OLO and were thrilled with the unpretentious and knowledgeable service, the interesting and delicious food and the overall warm and pro atmosphere. It is a higher price point restaurant but worth it.
I hosted a couple who are dear friends to me. They have lived in Europe and have travelled extensively so are connoisseurs of wine and food. Your place was recommended to me and it did not disappoint.
Initially I was concerned that the menu choices we a bit limited but the duck and the steak did not disappoint. The presentation was awesome and the flavours with both dishes were heavenly.
Carson, our waitress, was lovely and her knowledge of the wines was very impressive. I have continued to rave about our experience and look forward to returning.
Our friend highly recommended the duck so we came with high anticipation but duck was not on the menu!! It is good that they changed their menu frequently but I think the menu can easily be updated online. We checked online and there was duck... We were really disappointed.
I feel like the always evolving menu has become complacent and the quality of each dish has become less satisfying every visit. The farm to table scenario is always amazing. The service is always at least very good. Ambiance is great. Maybe just time for a refresher?
Eat here! You will not regret it. 5 star everything.
This was a very disappointing meal. We were expecting much more given rave reviews. The appetizers were very average.
The main dish was a problem. This was a pork dish with beets. The pork was sous vide and generally tasteless. The beets both pureed and grilled made the dish unusual, but not in a good way. The puree was over acidic (think vinegar) and was not balanced in any way. The beet red color of the puree was smeared everywhere on the dish was really off-putting (bloody mess).
The service was good, and the server did offer to remove the main course from my bill. I declined because I had finished most of it in an effort to try to prove to myself that I would learn to like it!
Lovely warm atmosphere, good service from very pleasant servers and fresh, healthy, unusual but very delicious food.
Inventive and creative very seasonal localized fare. The "ingredients list" style menu items don't do the final product enough justice (results exceeded expectations), it does leave the kitchen plenty of room to play. Things like the "carrot sorbet" in the Cocoa Husk Carrots are a lovely surprise, and it must be fennel season based on its wide but subtle incorporation. Do come with an open mind and willing taste buds, you'll be glad you did. Service is spot on. Prices are reasonable for the effort involved and results provided. They also obviously understand they'll be Instagram-ed (e.g. the geometric Flat Iron steak plating) but the presentation thankfully doesn't go way over the top. Highly recommended.
Wonderful experience, Knowledgeable and personable service. One of Victoria’s best.
From the service to the atmosphere and to the food, the entire experience was amazing! Would highly recommend for people not just looking for great food, but for an experience.
Fabulous evening...great drinks, food & service. Can’t wait to go back!
We already have recommended OLO. And we will go again. One of the best overall experiences ever!
Amazing in every way! We come to Victoria once a year and I’m scheming a way to get back sooner because of Olo!
I've been to Olo several times and it's consistently excellent. The food is delicious and creative; the service is friendly and professional; and the ambience is great. My one wish is that the wine prices were a little more reasonable.
Our favourite place in town because of the ever evolving menu, wonderful and imaginative food, and unpretentious yet delightfully on-point service! This is where I send anyone coming in from out of town.
Amazing food ! Presentation and flavours were exceptional.
We had a great evening - nice atmosphere, good and friendly but unobtrusive service. Food was very tasty with my guest praising the ling cod in miso. I found the wine on offer to be interesting but OLO should offer a few wines in the $35 to $40 range: not everyone wants to pay $65 to $100 for a bottle of wine.
I’m confused: Olo has been highly touted and a friend said he had an incredible meal there. My experience was otherwise.
The environment is comfortable, the service good; however the food was only ok, mediocre even. I could have done better at home and I’m no chef.
The flavors used in the dishes weren’t necessarily complementary of the main component and the suggested wine was characterless. Presentation was nothing special either.
Perhaps the kitchen had an “off” day but this kind of experience suggests that organization is a problem: default routines to insure consistent quality are lacking...or worse.
Go and taste: maybe you’ll get lucky.
This is a very good restaurant with delicious food. Everything that we tasted there was cooked to perfection. Nothing to complain about.
A cozy place on a chilly evening... offering warm hospitality and delicious food. Highly recommend.
First time at the OLO - we really enjoyed the experience! Food was outstanding and well worth the money. Our servers we polite, friendly and efficient. we will be back again soon.
We have a small child. This place was way too small to accommodate our party of three. They wanted to store our stroller in the back room. Food was probably fantastic-looked very tasty small portions, but looked a bit overpriced. Was looking forward to having a drink but very limited options. Small area with uncomfortable spacing. OLO said we didn’t show up for our reservations as well- which we did- we just decided not to order after looking at the menu. Polite staff otherwise. Seemed to understand that it was a good fit for us.
We had a bit of a wait but food came as expected (same as before), very high quality and delicious. Service was AMAZING! It isn’t everyday that your plates get changed three times throughout one meal. I was impressed!
Delightful celebration with friends, made simple by the staff who accommodated a last minute reservation time switch. We had the fix price chiefs selection which our group selected so that we had a chance to try all the options. The wow factor... is there carrot sorbet in my salad! The gaps between courses were filled by great conversation.
This was for a special occasion which brought us back to one of our favourite restaurants in Victoria, it was great to get reacquainted and we had a fabulous experience.
Everything is amazing! So much thought and care goes into every aspect. A wonderful treat. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the service was impeccable.
Outstanding dishes to sample on the tasting menu. The wine pairings are a must to get the full experience.
Simply superb. Thank you everyone for a memorable evening.
Olo gets it right from top to bottom: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff, fresh ingredients, great preparation, and terrific presentation. Their emphasis on as much local supply as possible is not just a good idea, it's great in execution. The staff and ownership are truly exceptional - everyone pays attention to everything, regardless if it is that server's table. We had one server tell us that she loves working there because the owners do everything the servers do - often not the case in restaurants. Have to make special mention of the albacore tuna appetizer - it was an amazing combination of fresh ingredients and novel combination (melon, fennel creme fraiche, purple daikon, and nori-wrapped albacore). Probably the most memorable appetizer I've had this year. My companion also raved about the turnip and apple salad for its lightness and novel tastes. Truly wonderful experience.
Glad we went for sure and we had a wonderful time. Food and our waitress were fantastic. The tables were a little close together but didn’t really bother us that much. It was a little loud for us to really have good intimate conversation. Found the alcoholic beverages and wine list very pricey for what you got. I’m sure we will go back now that we know how the menu works. The food was DELICIOUS!
