OLO Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Victoria, B.C.’s bustling Chinatown neighbourhood, OLO pays homage to the region’s trade hub roots.
The name ‘Olo’ means ‘hungry’ in Chinook Jargon, a derivative language of English, French, Chinese and Chinook. The Pacific Northwest was once a gathering place for traders from all over the world... French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, First Nations and more; at OLO these influences are integrated into a cuisine that showcases the Cascadian region.
We are lucky to have access to the forest, farms, and ocean here on the West Coast. We are a restaurant that believes in sustainable farming practices, seasonality, and knowing the stories of the growers.

Excellent food, well presented in a lovely brick-walled cozy ambiance. Excellent date place!
Very interesting and tasty meal. Attentive yet relaxed service. A jewel among Victoria restaurants.
Unfortunately, no. I've been to Olo several times and always had an amazing meal. My meal this time was okay, but not great. The presentation of the Tuna Tataki was uninspired, and the pork was just okay. The meat and the vegetables didn't provide enough contrast in flavour in my opinion, and the sauce was quite bland. Our server was great - personable, attentive and provided help and information as we needed it. Having said all this, I will try Olo again - maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen.
Delicious tasting menu. Very inventive flavours. I would recommend this restaurant for a special night out.
This is my favorite restaurant in Victoria. The server was very kind and friendly. They refold your napkin when you leave the table to use the washroom. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had. And I have had a lot of gnocchi from top rated restaurants in different cities. I have nothing but good things to say about Olo.
Valentines Weekend
Friendly personal service. Missed one request about dish but no biggy. Had a lovely evening and my pork was delish. Will be returning. Keep it up OLO!
Good reservation system. Super friendly, great services, great food. Highly recommend.
OLO is an outstanding dining experience, and easily one of my favorite restaurants in Victoria. Always great service, the food is as good as it gets, and the portions are solid for the price. I highly recommend!
we chose all the vegetarian starters plus the sablefish collars and the gnocchi .. omg, so good
I really like OLO. The food is very very good. It is imaginative, with some unusual ingredients (at least for me - pickled kelp, for instance) and combinations, but the flavors are very well integrated. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and not at all snobbish about the food. The wine list has some interesting choices, and some good local ones. The place is small, and I expected it to be louder, but you can actually have a conversation without screaming at each other, which I really appreciate. I think the decor could have more character and the atmosphere could be a bit cosier, but this is a small complaint. The fact that you can have a conversation is definitely more important to me. I was there for both work and family occasion, and each time I had a very nice time. When they are busy they tell you the reservation is for only two hours, which can be a bit tight, but they have mastered the art of letting you know in a nice way and helping you get everyone fed and happy in just those two hours, so I did not mind this even when we arrived late and this was a bit of an issue. I totally recommend it.
Experience a departure from ordinary with dinner at Olo. You will be welcomed into a warmly pleasant dining room, and taken on a culinary journey. The food is original and perfectly comforting. Surprising and unique wine pairing choices. Put yourself into Olo's capable hands and have a wonderful evening.
Absolutely spectacular. Fantastic is what OLO oozes and would happily eat 3 meals a day there! Love the tortured vegetables! Wine list is top notch as well. Is it weird that I wanted to fill my pockets with the mini cornbread loaf? Also noticed that OLO looks like two eyes and a nose and I can't un-see that now. Praise to the whole team making that a highlight of our trip.
Everything was absolutely amazing. We had one of the set menus and it was timed perfectly and was absolutely tasty! Will definitely go back!
Really innovative food and nice ambiance - a bit crowded due to small size, but overall a really enjoyable meal. Good selection of BC wines, which is always nice when entertaining those from out of province. Will definitely return
We decided to finally try Olo during Dine Around Victoria. Now we're wondering why we waited. Every course was a delightful adventure and each course complemented the next. The service was friendly, helpful, and just there when needed and no more. The space is inviting and pleasant. You should go. We will again!
Great restaurant with amazing food. I find the service there can be good but some of the servers are too eager and it almost becomes uncomfortable.
It was wonderful. Service was outstanding, food and wine pairing exceptional. Food was unique without trying too hard, amazing flavour combinations. It feel like the chef spends all his brain space dreaming about what to serve, presentation, mind blowing flavour and texture melding. Thank you!
The food was unique and delicious, so well prepared and presented. The service was truly excellent—from every person we came in contact with. Pricey but worth it!
Amazing meal. The sunchoke soup was extremely delicious and perfect for the cold weather.
The gnocchi were fluffy, not gummy and the whole meal was very tasty. The chocolate pudding was very delicious and rich. Points added for a lovely presentation. We will be back the next time we are in Victoria.
The ambience and service at Olo were great but the food was average and did not live up to expectations.
Had the Dine Around menu. Two of our party of 3 were happy with their food. I was happy with my soup and dessert, but found the gnocchi dish just okay. It was a weird combination, and the gnocchi was a bit mushy. I've made gnocchi at home and it's always been firmer and tastier. My husband said he'd go back, but I'm not so sure. Appreciated the quiet music. The servers could have been quicker getting our cocktail order in, as we sat for about 15 minutes before I flagged someone to take the order. This meant we were still drinking them when the food came.
OLO serves local food with high quality ingredients. My expectations were high as I've heard and read so many good things.
With my friend, we decided to go for the Dine In and we took the 3course meal for 40 CAD. The dishes weren't that good then what I thought. Although the server and the wine was excellent. I also really liked the interior design.
OLO was beyond our expectations - a perfect evening! We will be back soon!
Food was delicious!! Service was perfect! Great atmosphere!
Great food and wine pairings.
I enjoyed my dinner, but my husband’s was just so so. Soup was tasty, but cold. We waited at least 20 minutes before we were waited on, while a waitress chatted to a table of her friends that arrived after us, and took their order. The ambiance and noice level were both good. Probably won’t return anytime soon.
My girlfriends and I enjoy a ladies night together each year during Dine Around Victoria and we’re never disappointed. This year we chose OLO for it’s great selection of fresh vegetables, farm/sea to table menu, and the interesting combinations of flavours on the plate and in the cocktail glass. We had a wonderful night. Thank you!
The meal was one of the best I’ve ever had but nothing could compare to the skill of the bartender. Hands down the best cocktails we have ever had and all specially made to pair with our meal.
Excellent meal, attentive staff and great vibes all around.
The food was amazing, the staff were wonderful. A great experience.
Great food. We really enjoyed the dine around menu. Excellent wine pairings too. Everything was delicious and really well informed staff.
Service was friendly and attentive. Wine pairings were to my taste. Food was plated beautifully and the flavour combinations were unique yet delicious.
Excellent food, pleasant atmosphere - a very nice evening with friends.
Amazing food and service! A dining experience not to be missed for the serious foodie in Victoria. Go!
It was really nice! Enjoyed the time I had there and would definitely go again.
Highly recommend a visit. Party of 6 and everyone loved their food (!), even the picky folks. it was the perfect amount of food, easy to connect with everyone in the space (and hear one another). Flavours were stunning.
Would highly recommend Olo to anyone looking for a nice dinner out in Victoria. Their dishes are creative and they use local ingredients. Staff is excellent, and the room has a nice, comfortable atmosphere.
We went to OLO for a birthday dinner. Attentive hosts, waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, food was great. It's pricy, in comparison to other places we've been to in Victoria so far, but overall very good experience.
Best meal I have eaten in Canada. Thumbs up to the chef and the excellent service staff.
