Always a great experience at One North Kitchen & Bar!
Great place to go before the Opera! Happy hour was great- food was delicious
Salad really flat but pricey
We had been here for lunch and found the small plates very good our latest dining was for dinner and found the food good but the service was outstanding
Casey- is the best. I really enjoy his insight on beverages and he always pleasant demeanor!
I ordered the sliders and they were burnt.
The Gouda curls were so dry we could not eat them
We have dined there numerous times over the years, but the quality of the food is deteriorating time after time.
Our experience was mixed. We had reserved a high top and when we arrived all the high tops in the main restaurant were full. They started to seat us at a table and when I asked about a high top we were then seated at one in the entrance to the restaurant, right next to the kitchen. The service was spotty although, at one point, someone came out of the kitchen to make sure we were being served and took our appetizer order. The food was good enough (we had hummus, the charcuterie plate, a Caesar salad with salmon, and one filet slider) and was served quickly. The service was friendly, just not as consistent as I wanted. I didn't like being stuck off in a corner away from the bar. Given the choice, I don't think I'd return.
Ambiance fine : servers were super. But food was very poor : flatbread burnt , fish not cooked ( suspect frozen and inside cold and seemed unthawed) , veggie burger just Ok. Drinks good but pricey .
Great place to go before an opera. Servers are efficient and helpful. They pace their service to get u to the show on time, but do not rush you. The food is good, not great, but the menu changes enough that there is always something new that appeals.
Top notch food. Spouse had smon done perfectly with slightly pink center. I had fish and chips. One might say it's so plebian but that was tenderess freshest cod and fried at a high temp so no oiliness to it. Had an app with absolutely fresh buffla mozzarella and a gentle proscuitto with lovely mild baby arugula with just a hint of pepper. Was surprised it wasn't busier but the Lyrica Opera is across the street and they had a real dog of an opera.
Pre opera-love dining here!
Great for afterwork events. Right across from the Civic Opera house. Wine, wraps & flatbreads were delicious.
It was an ok experience for us. Went with friends. Food good, service your run of the mill, busboys too eager to get plates out of your way - hardly put the fork down.....It's noisy. Wouldn't go back
It was great for the lunch. I would go a little later at noon the sound was very loud. We enjoyed the food the risotto was super!
Love this spot - try the buffalo mac & cheese side
waiter was rude
Four of us were headed to a concert so we were in a bit of a hurry, but not rushed. Our Waitress was friendly, prompt and kept our drinks full. Our food was delicious and served HOT! Was so glad to have hot food served for the first time in a long time... loved it here and will be back.
Perfect spot before the opera. Good food, fast competent service. Directly across the street from the Lyric.
Going to opera
Great place for a business lunch. Food is great, service is quick, wait staff is attentive.
The food was delicious and I have no complaints on the taste but very expensive for what you recieved. I paid $20 for essentially pasta noodles and tiny pieces of italian sausage. Most items were more expensive than this and came with no sides. Cocktails were $12 which is relatively on par with other places in the city but the glasses were very small. Ambience and service were excellent!
We ordered calamari and stuffed Gouda puffs as appetizers, then I had the bacon risotto for an entree and every bite was delicious! Plus we were out in plenty of time for the opera. Great food, better service.
Congenial ambience, reasonably priced entrees ( my risotto was excellent) and ACROSS THE STREET FROM LYRIC OPERA! Will go here again.
My Asian wrap was as salty as a cow’s salt lick. Maybe try not using frozen chicken pre-battered nuggets. Service was as slow as I could possibly imagine. Overall, not a good dining experience.
Food was good. The waiter wasn’t the best, the place was rather empty and it took him forever to get to our table. We had to ask for the happy hour menu and then waited 10 minutes to find out that there was nothing different on the happy hour menu except a couple fries and $3 cheaper wine. That being said the food we got was very good.
This was a one-off I'm sure, but my chili wasn't very good; three people at my table got filet sliders and said they were very dry. We've all been there before, and we were all disappointed, which is why I believe this was a one-off.
It's always such a great vibe, food so delicious (never disappoints), their team is always so professional and attentive (also they give perfect recommendations). Always look forward to coming here and also introducing other people to this gem!!
I love the place, the food the service, but it is TOOO loud!!!
Please try to make it less loud!
Thank you so much
I think the meal was a little bit pricey for what we got.
The food was fantastic and the service was amazing, we got in super fast too.
The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the location, across from the Lyric Opera. The menu is limited (with zero vegetarian main dishes or appetizers on the opera menu), the food is mediocre, and the ambiance, at least the night I was there, was closer to senior living facility dining room than restaurant/bar. I will not be going back.
It's a great pre-opera spot! Location couldn't be easier. Staff is always terrific, attentive and understanding if you just want to order small plates and drinks or need to get a fuller meal in with a hard stop. Look forward to our next visit.
Food and wine (and dessert this time!) were excellent, as always. Service was friendly and solicitous, from the moment we entered to the minute we left for the opera across the street. Our waiter could not have been better (I wish I could recall his name). We tend to order seafood, which is always prepared and presented beautifully. There was a special soup we tried that was delicious.
I know we were pre-opera, but we were there extra early for a leisurely dinner and were totally rushed through. Appetizers, dinner and dessert in about 45 minutes. We had to kill an hour before the opera.
This is always a terrific place to eat dinner prior to a Lryic Opera performance. My group drives in from Milwaukee ahead of the performance and it is wonderful to have such a terrific option so close to the theatre so we only need to park once! We've always had outstanding service.
Wonderful pre-opera dinner, especially on a Saturday night when the happy hour crowd that makes the noise level unbearable during the week is absent!
We had a delicious lunch before attending an event at the Lyric Opera. We were seated quickly, our server was attentive and had a friendly personality. The calamari appetizer was remarkable, as was the brownie gelato dessert. It was a very enjoyable lunch experience and I would recommend it to my friends.
Food was good and service very fast! Wine list nice and was great to be able to take a little taste before ordering a glass. Waiter friendly and attentive. Good experience!
Restaurant was very busy. Had to wait for second glass of wine twice and it arrived after we finished the meal. Got the impression they need more wait staff in dining room. Food was very good. Would go back.
