    This restaurant is extremely small with very little ambiance or character. Almost cafeteria-like. Much of the space is on the other side of some doors and appears to be designed to serve the dripping wet patrons from the adjacent thermal bath spa. This set up also made the restaurant quite chilly as that side is exposed to the outdoors quite a bit as patrons come in &out from the outdoor spa. I’d estimate that in the “restaurant side” there are tables to accommodate no more than 10 people. I planned my husband’s birthday getaway at the hotel & spa a couple of months ahead of time. I made a reservation at Ono a good 2-3 weeks ahead of time through Open Table on the restaurant’s website. However, we arrived to blank stares and consternation. We seemed to be inconveniencing them. “On a pas d’espace!” (We don’t have room) loudly whispered one employee to the other. A group of about 6 loud and partying men was occupying the tables along the wall on one side of the restaurant. The waitress asked them if more people would be joining them. They said no, so she pulled a two-seater table away from their group, moved it about 2 feet away and triumphantly offered us seating there. Not interested in trying to enjoy my husband’s birthday dinner next to a group so clearly unconcerned with disturbing everyone around them, we declined. We left and had an outstanding dinner at Kato (also in the hotel). Highly recommended Kato. Definitely suggest you take a hard pass on Ono.

    The food was mediocre at best. Filet mignon was over cooked after asking for medium rare. Tried to speak to someone about it by they didn’t care. No where on the menu did it state that gravy was going to poured all over my steak. Any good quality steak never requires gravy and should have been an option. Au jus would have been a better option Wait staff was no where to be found, no one came by to ask how our food was to ask if we wanted another drink. People from the spa kept walking through the restaurant in their swimsuits and bathrobes dripping wet. Not worthy of the 5 star review they have online
