The dark experience is definitely very worth the money, but I didn't find the food to be too amazing. We chose to have surprise everything which was really interesting because we didn't know what was going to be put in front of us!

An incredibly unique experience. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They encouraged the excitement we were feeling about our dinner in the dark. We all had the "mystery" menu and were very pleased with the result! Our waiter Sami was flawless; service and experience was beyond our expectations.

The experience in general was really nice... however we found the noise level somehow too high and the valentines price a bit too elevated.

Very unique experience! Was a bit a nervous before going in. Was a very cool experience. Nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Tip for anyone going; remember you can’t see what you’re eating, so pick your food strategically. Something you can either pick up with your hands or easily use your fork.

We had an amazing and thrilling experience! We were scared at first and weren't sure what to expect, but once seated we had an incredible time of laughter and were able to discover our other senses.

Such restaurant is recommended for a group of people rather than just for a couple.

Very cool experience! Can pick between a two course or three course meal, as well as any drink pairings. The room is completely blacked out, so you’ll select your meal in the bar area before heading into the special room. Your waiter guides you into the room and will instruct you on everything. At first it’s almost unsettling how dark the room is, but then your instincts kick in and you adapt. Eliminating your sight allows all your other senses to heighten, including your tastebuds! I recommend ordering the surprise dishes on the menu, adds some extra fun as you try and guess what you’re eating and/or drinking!

The experience was one that I am glad I had, but I wouldn't do it again.

Appetizers: I was sitting there, with mine in front of me, waiting on my partner's to arrive, for about 20 minutes. I couldn't see to ask the waiter where hers was. Kept waiting till he tried to take mine away, and then I said that I hadn't started because I was waiting for her to get her appetizer. We both asked for not spicy, we can't handle spicy. Mine was not spicy, hers was very spicy (when it finally came). So I ended up eating a cold, but not spicy appetizer, while she ate a hot, but very spicy one.

Main meals: We ordered the "surprise", and no one told us what it was. We had no clue where the food was. If it had been described, then that would have made the world of a difference on how to eat it, but I ended up eating polenta and slow-cooked beef (on the bone) with my hands. Not very romantic. I asked the waiter to wrap the rest of my food and he said there wasn't any left. I know for a fact that I only ate a few bites from the dish, and the majority was still there.

Desserts: I got the surprise (still have no clue what it was), and she got the creme brulee. It arrived inedibly burnt. Neither of us could eat any of it, it was so burnt. The waiter didn't offer to replace it, and only when I commented in the lobby did they refund us the app and the dessert.

Giving someone spicy or burnt dishes, when they are not expecting it is bad service. Doing it in the pitch black when they can't see it is a betrayal of trust and unprofessional.

This place is a culinary feast and a memorable life experience! A mere 2 hours in the life of a blind person is enough to shift your paradigm on the whole eating experience. You never realize how your sense of taste is influenced by your sight until you can’t guess what you’re eating correctly. Take at least one ‘surprise’ course for the full experience.

Very unique and fun idea! It really is pitch black in the restaurant- you can eat mashed potatoes with you hands (and probably will have to because it’s rather difficult to use a fork in the dark).

The price did not reflect the food for the vegetarian options. While the food was not bad, the tofu was really plain and the portion was extremely small. We spent $120 on two people, and when we left we were still hungry. I would recommend vegetarians get the surprise option rather than the set menu.

This was a very unique concept and it was very cool to experience. It really puts things into perspective as we tend to take our sight for granted. Service was fabulous.

An unforgettable experience! I took my teenage children to Onoir for dinner on new years' eve and we had a great time. The room was incredibly quiet at the beginning but then a reparti was established between the tables. We were even singing at one point! There were tourist from various countries which created a great international ambiance. Our waitress Sophie who said she had worked at Onoir for 7 years was very professional, friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding. Blocking out one of your senses really does enhance the whole tasting experience. We have two family friends who are unable to see and our experience at Onoir gave us a bit of insight into their daily lives. Great food and great time guaranteed and reasonably priced too!

I made a reservation at ONoir about three weeks in advance. My kids and I looked through the menus and decided on two and three course meals. When we arrived at NYE, we were suddenly confronted with choosing a four course meal for 59C$ (!) each. Three weeks before they didn’t know they would offer a NYE special for that price, and could have posted it on their website? We had to chose a cold and a warm appetizer, a main dish and dessert. As warm appetizer we chose the calamari. It turned out they were served in a salad. So no warm appetizer at all. Our server spilled my kid‘s soda. No big deal. But no offer for a refill. My crispy tofu was not freshly made and served. It sat in the kitchen for quite a while. The risotto was served without a spoon which makes it difficult to eat especially when one can’t see the plate. Overall, I think the food must be a flavor explosion when one sense is limited. It wasn’t. Going there is a good experience to learn to adopt to an unusual environment within about 90 minutes. But spending 250 C$ including two sodas and a raspberry-vodka drink (I tasted no vodka at all!) on two kids and an adult was crazy much.

This was our second time to O’Noir and it remained a unique and delicious experience. We ordered surprise courses and drinks on both occasions and weren’t disappointed! It’s really stimulating to evaluate what you’re eating with no way to see it. And the wines they matched with our meals were spot-on. We look forward to returning again for more surprises!
