Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

Food was great, but we noted that it was our anniversary in the Special Occasion section of our reservation booking and it wasn't really mentioned or acknowledged which was too bad.

Service was good, people were friendly. Food wasn’t good at all, the tortillas smelled bad, meat tasted strange and was impossible to chew, it was way too expensive for what we got, the food wasn’t good at all.

This was our first visit and we were definitely impressed. Cuatro chiles cocktail was unique and a great match with the tuna tostadas. Our mains were great and we can’t wait to return and try more dishes. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable

This place is amazing. Only thing that didn't make this a 5-star review was the repeated reminder by our server of how long we had left of our 2-hour reservation time limit. A nice reminder when you first arrive is more than sufficient. We heard from the hostess, than again from the server when we sat down. And then again with just slightly less than 90 minutes into the reservations and meals finished, we gave an indication that we were considering another round of drinks, we got the "you just have to be done in 25 minutes left" speech. Complete turn off and we chose to have a final drink elsewhere.

Gorgeous space. Fantastic service. Tasty over priced drinks. Beautiful entrees, small expensive portions. Chips did not seem homemade. Tasted bland and served at room temperature. Guacamole, not flavourful or memorable.

Service was on point. Our server was so good at knowing when to approach us during our dinner to ask if we are enjoying ourselves and she really took the time to explain her recommendations and popular/top choices on the menu. Food came out quickly and was super delicious! My partner and I will definitely be going back to explore the menu more.

Went for a quick bite during the happy hour. The tacos were tasty and packed with meat. Also ordered the ARRACHERA GUACAMOLE. It was a bit weird to have random pieces of skirt steak in the bowl of guacamole.

We went for dinner and found the place extremely loud. Between the music and the acoustics we had to talk loudly to hear each other. Our servers was nice but we could barely hear him. The starters and drinks were good. However, our entrees were lack lustre. The plates didn’t make much sense and some of the flavours were bland. For the prices you pay, we were surprised that the dishes weren’t a bit more interesting or exciting. It’s becoming increasingly expensive to have a nice meal out and when you go to a fine dining experience, you hope that it’ll be something that stays with you for a few days. It seems more like a place you can say you go to for the status of it. Overall, we were underwhelmed. But it’s a popular place so I’m sure this review won’t make much of a difference.

Ophelia is always amazing. My partner and I have tried every main course and almost all the appies now. Highly recommend the octopus and the pork belly. This time when we went it was for my partners birthday and I selected that as the occasion when booking with OpenTable and they brought out a free dessert as a surprise. I tell all my friends about ophelia

We arrived early after an exciting day of Pride in Vancouver ... the service was attentive and we were able to take advantage of the Happy Hour drinks to get started (definitely try the guacamole!). The Spanish wine was new to us, but our server had all the details, including the name of the grape. It was very good. The ling cod was perfectly done and the pollo is an outstanding value. A lovely meal, and the staff were attentive to our requirements about a dairy sensitivity. A wonderful evening!

Food was good. Took a while to get served and also a while to get our food. I ordered three corn tortillas on the side. Was surprised with the upcharge and the cost of the upcharge. They should mention that when ordering. Overall pricey for what you are getting.
