Osteria Giulia sprung to life in our imaginations as a tribute to Italian traditions of the past.

We wanted to create one simple, beautiful thing. Somewhere outside of your busy life, outside of your surroundings, outside of time. An environment, an experience, an entire evening.

Osteria Giulia is intimate, warm and familiar. We’ve reveled in her every detail. We’ve established a rarified menu focusing on Northern Italian cuisine and delicate coastal, Mediterranean flavour.

Giulia is a new imagining of what an Italian restaurant can be. It always was the place of our dreams, the reason for our collaboration, and the culmination of—and conduit for—our collective passion.

From the OpenTable editors: Osteria Giulia, chef Rob Rossi and restaurateur David Minicucci’s follow-up to Giulietta, builds on its sibling’s accolades. Rossi’s take on Ligurian-inspired dishes like hand-braided pasta with wild squid is equal parts fresh and refined and exudes the same understated elegance as the restaurant’s serene Yorkville dining room.

    Disappointed. I’ve always wanted to try this place and had a chance to go for my friend’s birthday, but the service here was a huge let down. Now the food would be the only area I grant any points, but it wasn’t amazing. It didn’t help that recommendations from our server didn’t leave us believing they were any good. His tone and body language felt disrespecting to us as if we were wasting his time. I am a strong believer of “the little things matter” and the servers did not care about the little things or little people. The absurdity from this restaurant saying they don’t provide tap water and forced to buy still or sparkling. Some may say it’s not law, but reference from AGCO, TPH, and Smart Serve, restaurants serving alcohol must provide access to potable water to their patrons. This is drinkable water including tap water without charge. Overall, this place is overhyped, overcharged, and taking a coin flip if you pay your moneys worth or pay to get disrespected.

    This place charges tap water which is unusual even in fine dining. Food quality has deteriorated, I cannot tell the difference between the pasta and risotto

    Great experience. Staff was extremely helpful and gave exceptional service. The VITELLO TONNATO was incredible. The lamb CARRE di AGNELLO was also cooked incredibly well and very tasty.

    Osteria Giulia is my favorite restaurant in Toronto. It never disappoints with its friendly and attentive service, as well as the food. I truly enjoyed the insalata di pomodori with the peaches, and my son couldn’t get enough of the scallops crudo dish. I had the SPAGHETTI NERI ai GAMBERI, which was exquisite. My son had the TAGLIOLINI al GRANCHIO ( crab), which he stated was the best pasta he ever had!!! Everything was perfect. The tiramisu and strawberry desserts were heavenly. I always enjoy the cocktails and dessert wines. Our server, Giancarlo, was professional, friendly and offered some great insights. The host was very welcoming. Looking forward to my next visit!     two of the most famous items on the menu were disappointing (the Fucaccia and the calamari homemade pasta) we tried other 5 plates and they were excellent

    TLDR: The dining experience’s highlight was the delectable food and kind service. Every dish was thoughtfully put together and cooked to perfection. The ambience is cozy and you know you’re in for a treat the moment you step in. Definitely worth a visit whenever you’re craving Ligurian fare! Portions are smaller and will give you the advantage of trying multiple appetizers and entrées. We ordered Focaccia di Recco, Spaghetti neri ai Gamberi, Spigola alla Griglia & Paccheri alla Genovese and Tiramisu. EVERYTHING WAS A HIT! The only two aspects that didn’t match our expectations was 1) our choice of bar seating - With extremely low back support, it gets uncomfortable after an hour and a half. 2) Additionally, the servers rush quickly through the menu explanations (I’d assume in order to have you get through the 2 hour course in time) making it hard to keep up or hear them, especially over fluctuating moderate to loud noise levels.

    Amazing experience from the moment you step inside to the end ! High level Italian food pared with great wine from the really knowledgeable Sommelier Alessandro!
