Osteria Giulia sprung to life in our imaginations as a tribute to Italian traditions of the past.

We wanted to create one simple, beautiful thing. Somewhere outside of your busy life, outside of your surroundings, outside of time. An environment, an experience, an entire evening.

Osteria Giulia is intimate, warm and familiar. We’ve reveled in her every detail. We’ve established a rarified menu focusing on Northern Italian cuisine and delicate coastal, Mediterranean flavour.

Giulia is a new imagining of what an Italian restaurant can be. It always was the place of our dreams, the reason for our collaboration, and the culmination of—and conduit for—our collective passion.

We were celebrating a birthday with our dear friends and were treated like royalty. The experience is always excellent as Osteria Giulia is one of our fave spots in the city, but this last visit was even more exceptional. The risotto, trofie pasta and anchovy sourdough keep getting better and better, along with everything else on the menu! Thank you for another fantastic evening!

second time coming here - beautiful spot and waiters are lovely. The paccheri was our favourite so got that again, but the pasta was sadly undercooked. Roasted carrots were also cold by the time they got to us. Was an amazing first visit so disappointed in this time.

Pasta was amazing especially the lobster ravioli. However, some of the seafood including the octopus tail was slightly overcooked. What really grinded our gears was the outrageously priced “feature pasta” for $120 which the waiter ‘conveniently’ failed to mention. And the service was cold as well.

Worth the experience didn't disappoint. From the greeting at the door to the amazing table service, you feel VIP at the start. The food was well thought out, without being over the top. Fresh ingredients and smart combinations.

Came in at our reservation time and while there were two open spots at the bar which is what we reserved we were made to wait. Two people came in about 10 minutes later and were seated before us at those seats. Food was lacklustre at best, steak had a massive piece of sinew running through it and for 150 dollars was not acceptable. The carpaccio had an absurd amount of tuna emulsion on it which was for lack of a better word, disgusting. This was my third and final time dining at this restaurant which is probably one of the most overrated in the entire city.

The food - SUPERB! Start with the cheesy Italian bread (excuse my uncultured language) Only issue - NOISE. It was super hard to hear my partner even though we were at a table against the wall in the back. Music wasn’t too loud but there was 4 HUGE tables filled with ahole loud toronto lawyers bragging about taking money from a client all night. They say there longer than we stayed and literally were yelling. Only downside

Amazing service and food. Our server was very accommodating and patient with our dietary restrictions. We did not feel rushed or pressured to leave even as we were one of the last ones in the restaurant. 10/10 all around

I thoroughly enjoyed the cauliflower pesto side and the traditional focaccia. I was a bit let down when it came to the pastas as the starting dishes were such standouts. The tiramisu was a dream as well and they had a great selection of non-alcoholic and cocktail drinks. The service and overall architecture and interior of the place was amazing!

It was out second time dining at Osteria Giulia, the menu has changed a bit but we enjoyed everything we've ordered, especially the radicchio salad and the lamb rack. The flavour of the risotto is bomb but the texture is a tiny bit too al dente to our liking but overall, it was again a wonderful experience. Will definitely go back again.

Went here for an anniversary and it was a great spot. Arrived 15 minutes early and was promptly informed our table was finishing up and would be ready for us once they left. We were seated at the side stools and offered a drink menu. The drinks (Spumoni + Romagna) were made well, the foam was perfect, and started off the night. To start we had the toast w anchovies, which was light and rich at the same time. The carpaccio was thin and the tonnato had a great texture and flavour. The calamari was cooked perfectly with a nice bite of tuna inside it. Both dishes were presented beautifully. The risotto had a wonderful crab flavour throughout and presented as if it was a carpaccio dish, rather than in a typical bowl. The uni spaghettoni sauce was creamy, coated the mouth, and had a touch of heat. The pistachio cake was light but had the flavour. The millefoglie was my favourite dish of the night. The coconut + passionfruit flavours were strong and tasted so good on their own or together and was just so cute to look at. The wine selection is all Italian and goes deep, so you can find something you would enjoy. Service was wonderful + the entire staff we interacted with were v v pleasant.

Ambiance, flavours, service were all great. The one thing that we found ruined our experience was that both our main dishes were cold. It was supposed to be the highlight of our evening but it fell completely flat. For a restaurant of this apparent calibre, it should be hot (or at least warm!). It really is a shame. Overall the ambiance was good but, unfortunately, we are not sure if we would return as it seems the attention to detail just wasn't up to par. Besides, there are plenty of other great restaurants to try. This one doesn't make our 'tried and true' list.

Food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I took my mother there for her birthday, we just sat at the bar. The bartender was extremely attuned to everything, noticed when my mother dropped her napkin and he went and immediately got her a new one. He also picked up that it was her birthday and brought a candle out with desert. Just little things but adds to the overall experience. Will definitely be back.

Really nice restaurant for a night friends. Everything on their menu is top notch, you won't be disappointed. I was not a fan of the dessert quality compared to the main and appetizers dishes but you can still give it a try.
