The food was great. The see service very good. We had a very enjoyable evening. Definitely will come again
Food - absolutely excellent.
Service - ideal. Perfect.
Price/Value - a little on high side but not outrageous.
Seating - we were the only ones seated in our section. Then, the hostess sat a table of 4 right next to us (inches away). seems they could have chosen any other table. This is a pet peeve of mine. Why do they do this? Put a damper on our otherwise perfect evening.
I had previously dined at Osteria Mattone for brunch and the food was delicious. I also loved the ambience and setting - indoors - as well as the old historic Roswell area. I came here for dinner and have to say I was disappointed. the bread was good; the arugula salad I had was awesome. I usually think that if a place can do bread and salad well - tasty, not overly salted/dressed, but brimming with flavor and freshness, that it's a good sign. However, I got the often reviewed and raved-about Agnliotti D'oxo and was disappointed in the meat being very packed and dense feeling/tasting. The dish was good but not over the top good and I would not get it again. it was very filling though. The seafood pasta another person got was very good (not uniquely so) but the seabass was just ok. It was somewhat dry and the presentation of a whole fish (we asked for the whole fish vs. fillet) looked very plain. I did not think overall that the price and the reviews I had read online matched with my experience. I may come back again for brunch or dine in next time and try the appetizers, but likely will try a few other places for special occasion meals before I come back here. I really wanted to like this place because the ambience is very nice, but it was a bit too hit and miss for me, for the price.
Evan was wonderful- engaging and attentive!
We always enjoy Osteria and our most recent visit did not disappoint. Outdoor patio seating at night was amazing. Great food and service. I had the Frutti Di Mare for the first time and loved it. Osteria and Table & Main are our favorite Canton St. restaurants!
Once again we had a lovely meal . . . chose the seafood/pasta special . . unique, creative and delicious.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. My favorite restaurant.
We were very impressed with the food especially the braised short rib ravioli and the desserts were phenomenal. However the service was slow and the waitress seemed nervous throughout the meal.
The branzino was excellent- as always. The pasta is always delicious too. The roasted potatoes come with a verde sauce on them-not on the menu. I did not care for that; I like sauces on the side. The server rushed the first course- why I usually don't order until I'm ready to eat. Overall, it was very good.
I have loved this restaurant since it opened. The last two times we have visited, though, the food just wasn’t as good as it usually is. It has actually been a little on the bland side. Perhaps it was just what we ordered. We will still go back in hopes that the food returns to the amazing experience it has been until the past few months.
The sea salt caramel bread pudding remains incredible, though!
Amazing food and wonderful service! Adam was on point every step of the evening! Will be returning soon.
This place is my new favorite restaurant hands down! Great food, drinks and service! Recommend the short rib ravioli and the grilled/smoked artichokes! Will definitely be back sooner than later. A+ place!
Hostess was not accommodating and had an attitude. Server and food were great
We took my 89 year old mother there for her birthday. Sunday Brunch: we loved the variety of their menu. If you didn't want breakfast-type foods, there were other options such as pasta, pizza, salmon, grilled chicken..... Unfortunately for us, we were there prior to the start of Sunday alcohol sales (12:30pm) so we didn't get to try any of their wines/beers/cocktails. We'll do that next time!
Still my fav! Love the place!! A must try for pasta lovers
appetizers were very good.
my pasta dish, cabanara, was POOR.
other meals were good
We were asked if we had a reservation as the hostess looked at a list (?). I had made one online. The restaurant was nearly empty.
The waiter was very polite and nice. However, he didn't tell us about the specials until we asked; served water with no ice; didn't bring bread until we asked; didn't bring ground parmesan cheese until we asked; didn't bring more focaccia bread until we asked (the serving size was chintzy...one very small piece per person) and failed to add olive oil or ask if we wanted pepper or cheese ground on it.
Two of the four entrees were good. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The salad was enjoyable. My wife had a peppered pasta. She said it was tasteless. I had the pasta with shrimp and calamari. There was little of either, and the pasta was drenched with a sub-par tomato sauce. When I looked down at the plate I wanted to send it back to the kitchen. I chose to let it go in the interest in not distracting from the luncheon. We were entertaining friends from New York who we only get to visit with twice a year.
My wife and daughter in law have been to your restaurant for both bridal and baby showers and truly enjoyed their visits. They said the food was excellent, as was service.
The ambiance of Osteria Mattone cannot be beat. You have a great location in downtown Roswell, your building is inviting, and your interior decor welcoming.
If only you could get the waiter better trained (he's a nice kid, not his fault), and put more into some of your dishes. Maybe we caught the chef on a bad day. Maybe we chose the two worst entrees. But, the dollar being what it is, I'm sorry to say there's no maybe whether or not we'll return.
Good food, presentation and ambiance, excellent service.
Enjoyed our dinner. However, the food is very good...but as so many places these days, it is expensive. The alcoholic beverages are pricey, too. The pizza is an excellent deal. We would go there just for that. Our dinner also took a very long time to arrive at the table. The kitchen should have been able to handle the crowd, as the restaurant wasn't full. But, overall, we would definitely go back!
First visit won't be the last...saw it on Open Table (I would have never known about it as I live 1 hour away). My daughter and I were going to a concert at Verizon. It was the perfect start to a fun evening.
Our waiter, Jonathan was great and very on top of things. Good Menu, pretty décor.
We love the outdoor patio. It is absolutely gorgeous, relaxing & romantic.
As usual, fabulous food and excellent service!! Our server was exceptionally good--don't know his name but he recently moved from Oregon!
Lovely atmosphere. Great service. Interesting menu. Decent wine list with well priced wines by the bottle
Nice environment. There was a band out and valet parking. Our entire table felt that the food lack something or missing something.
Excellent in every respect
The food and atmosphere were amazing! (Such a refreshing change from the boring chain restaurants!) Our server, Adam, was very hard working. The food was outstanding...I practically licked my plate clean!! Even the focaccia bread was so good it was worth the meal itself! :-)
Had a lovely and delicious lunch with friends at Osteria Mattone yesterday. Will definitely go again!!
Excellent food; wait staff very attentive to our group.
Great food. Waitress was attentive and great at making wine and food recommendations.
We went last year for our boys birthday and loved it. This time fish was dry and the carbonara was not that great. We like the place but food was disappointing. Service is great.
From the greeting at the hostess desk, to the great service by Andy, excellent and interesting menu selections and warm atmosphere, Osteria Mattone is truly a neighborhood gem. Very good and authentic wine selection. The Agnolotti di Oxo, as a signature dish, is worthy of its title and the Branzino (Sea Bass) is an exceptional fish presentation. Oh, and the Polpo (Octopus) is simply awesome. A must go to!
Delicious food. Great service by Jamie. Perfect evening!
Evan was an excellent server !
I have visited three times and have always enjoyed the food and the service. Stylish and tasty menu -not overdone .
Overall disappointing. It used to be impossible to get a reservation last minute on a Saturday night. No problem now. Strange food combinations like scallops with vanilla. Strawberry moustardo? The artichokes were really unpleasant- tasting like a bottle of cloves was dumped on them. The pork chop was as stiff as a saddle and was left 90% uneaten. I'm regretting buying a gift card for this restaurant. I have $350 remaining. Maybe their other venues provide better food.
We have enjoyed each visit and will return often.
Have been multiple times but this time the service was spotty and did not know the special well enough to explain it, and the food was ordinary. Pasta was pasty, overcooked and the detail just wasn't there. A lot of people there that evening but numbers belie a slide in service and prep of the dishes served. However I like the menu and will try again on a slower evening.
Nice manager, nice server. Very noisy speakers, with music blaring constantly. Only two groups in restaurant and we were seated side by side, not very private.
wow. i don't know why anyone would go downtown for dinner. Roswell has it all. This is by far my favorite place in Roswell. Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. The wine selection was amazing - you can't go wrong with any picks here. Can't wait to eat here again!!
Best Italian food we’ve had in quite some time. Pizza reminded me of some we had in Tuscany! Nice crisp crust. Great carbonara. Wine list (including offerings by the glass) were quite good. Overall a great experience. Will definitely dine here again.
