Food is delicious and original like the names of their many cocktails. The carrot appetizer can’t be beat, actually it includes puréed carrot you want to lick off the plate. Nice sized entrees leave room for dessert. The hard, black surfaces create a loud milieu that seems to clash with the attempted ambiance. When asked if the pounding bass of the music could be turned down the waiter replied that the management was looking into buying plants to reduce the noise level!??
No help for us that night.

We went there for Thanksgiving Dinner, toward the end of the evening and found the buffet pretty picked over and not being replaced...now we recognize that it was towards the end of the evening but when you’re paying $75 per-plate that they’d ensure that we’d have our choice of food until the end. Not very impressed...

Enjoyed a Thanksgiving Dinner and the restaurant was a low key environment so each of us could have a conversation and not be drowned out by some pumped in music. The bar prepared our drinks as requested. Service very good and being right off the lobby to the hotel we were able to enjoy their fireplace and seasonal trimmings. If you needed to see the football game TV was available without bothering the rest of us.

Thanksgiving buffet was a tad disappointing Lukewarm, dry and an ordinary selection. Will have to try this place when it’s not a holiday and is serving the regular menu.

We asked our waiter about the jar of pickles appetizer on the menu. He explained it was a jar of pickled vegetables which sounded good to go with our Licy Bugers. Out came a baby food sized jar of red pickled beets and one long skinny green thing that still tasted like beets because it was in the red pickled beet juice. Neither my husband or I eat beets so the ingredients of the jar were left untouched on our plate. Our waiter asked us how the pickles were and we explained that neither of us eat beets. Our waiter shrugged his shoulders and chuckled BUT never did anything about it We expected our waiter to replace or refund the uneaten appetiver. NOT. Burgers arrived over cooked (we ordered medium and they were cooked very well done. Will never return there with all the other great food options in Seattle.

The restaurant was packed at lunch time and we had exceptional service, the food was very well prepared and served piping hot. My guest ordered the Duck Fat Fries as an appetizer WHICH WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD! A must to try. You will not be disappointed. Our burgers were cooked to protection, hot and the salads instead of fries were very fresh with lots of veggies, tomatoes and goodies. Outlier is our favorite place in Seattle and easy to get to. We can't say enough great things about this place. Volla!

I booked a reservation here for my husband's birthday dinner and then was taking him to a Vivaldi concert at Benaroya Hall. We were dressed up for the symphony and a lovely dinner with some friends. The menu looked interesting and for people like us, great service and food are what we are after.

An odd juxtaposition: food that was well done in a stark, arena like sports bar complete with TVs playing a game and the hostess in a Sea Hawks jersey. Given that this restaurant is associated with the Hotel Monaco and had a lovely menu, I was pretty surprised. Call me stodgy but I avoid sports bars precisely because I am not a sport fan, so imagine my surprise to have booked a reservation at one. Fine dining and sports are not a combination I would have chosen. Shame on me as I should have read more carefully.

So we honored our reservation as is normal and hoped for the best. My dining companions and I could not hear each other sitting across from each other at the 4 top and the restaurant was not even anywhere near full at the time. The food was good but not stellar and the service was quite good. Neither could overcome the setting for us and the drinks were decidedly not the caliber one would expect from a Seattle establishment.

I really wish Outliers well but it is certainly not my cuppa. And more's the pity because we have season tickets to the 5th Avenue, ACT, and symphony. But this is not a restaurant for theater nor classic music lovers and it does not possess the necessary elan for this type of diner. However, if the diner wishes to move from ordinary pub grub to better fare and still loves sports, this is the place for them.

Wife and I had a great meal. We also watched a good game between the Raiders and KC on a giant tv in a quiet area of the restaurant. We shared two salads. Both were balanced and delicious. The main entrees were filling and distinctive. My ground duck in 4” pasta sticks was unique. The flavors were strong, just right for a rainy night. Wife’s crab cake in a gazpacho was also well balanced.

Location is excellent, service is terrific and the coffee is good. However, the food is horrible. Just because you put some spice in a food to heat it up does not make it edible. I hope that they close down and rework this again.

This was my second lunch. My experience the first time was better.
This time I ordered smoked salmon on a beet salad. You needed a magnifying glass to find the salmon, the beets were tasteless. No bread or crackers served only 3 pieces of wafer Yet is was @ $18.
Sandwiches seems better.
We ordered French Fires to help "bulk up the meal.. but they were cold!

We were staying at the Monaco, had eaten at its restaurant before it was refurbished and became the Outlier and, based on that, had modest expectations. But we didn't feel like going out. The pizza and heirloom tomato salad we ordered were quite good, we were given a (relatively) quiet corner, and the service was efficient and friendly. It's mostly catering to a young crowd, has a pleasant, if noisy ambiance.

Fabulous service by Tracy. Good food, nice space. We dine out in Seattle often and it was so nice to not have pretentious staff and a menu that is only fit for foodies. My husband loved his cheeseburger! Wish Seattle had more places like this. Thanks for a great night out!

Food was good but it was insanely loud. The problem is with the acoustics, not the clientele. We informed the staff and they were very aware of the problem but they said there was nothing they could do. We had a friend in from out of town and we were hoping to have a nice meal while catching up. We were constantly repeating ourselves and it was very frustrating. After we left, several of us experienced ear pain, which, of course, went away but absolutely not acceptable for a meal. Not sure why it got so many good reviews and given they are aware of the problem it is shocking that they seem to have no interest in remediation. None of us will go there again.

Our server was professional and could see that we were in conversation and having a business meeting, so he was quick to the point, but also friendly, helpful and kept our lunch moving. He gave us great recommendations and accommodated a few dietary requests.
The fries and the pickles we so good, got rave reviews from the group on the salmon sandwich and the duck bolognese. I am new to working in this part of town and will keep Outlier high on the list of lunch options!

Most important, the food was good. We had the duck confit pasta and salad nicoise. Turns out the viogner does not pair well with the dressing on the salad, but who knew? Pleasant waitress but a couple of relatively minor service issues. In changing the restaurant from Sazerac to Outlier, the designer managed to make it noisier/buzzier. Not our preference.

Husband and I ate Sunday breakfast at Outlier and were so glad we did. I couldn’t decide which yummy meal to order and the very nice waiter suggested the avocado and crab toast. It came with a delicious over easy egg, dill sauce and all on top of homemade bread (thick slice), plus a green salad on the side. The ingredients were top of the line fresh and tasted so good. Husband was pleased with his breakfast sandwich but he wished he had ordered the avocado/crab toast dish. Yummy!!!!

First time for our party of four to visit Outlier. Food was prepared to our individual tastes and liking. The service by both the server and the buser was attentive in the right degree.
Bathroom access difficult for people who find stairs hard to negotiate.

Food was mediocre at best. Service was atrocious. The restaurant was only half full and was so loud we couldn’t hear our server. Once the server found out we wouldn’t be ordering alcohol or an appetizer we didn’t see him again after ordering until we got our check. When our table needed refills of ice tea or water I had to get up from the table to ask for it at the bar. Will definitely not be coming back.

Remodel from the old Sazeracs, which was a much better space. No acoustic balance , with concrete floors so it is very loud. A minimal menu. It appears that it is more about small plates and signature cocktails than a real restaurant experience. It was not full but close and very loud. The bar did not know how to make a smokey martini but they did follow instructions well.

I probably won't do dinner there again but I might meet some after work folks for a happy hour sometime.

Had an absolutely stellar experience at Outlier. Food was perfect for a close business friend over the lunch hour. From the moment you step in the door, you're treated like you belong. The coat service was a great touch. The décor and table arrangement allows privacy without feeling boxed in. Javier our server was perfect for the occasion.

I had the Togarashi Crusted Salmon Sandwich with the salad side option and loved every bite. The portion was perfect, which is a big deal to me because if I'm going to pay for a meal downtown, I don't want to leave and still be hungry.

Definitely making this place a traditional stop for my next business lunch!

We had a wonderful time at brunch on Sunday. Chris and Susan took incredible care of us. The food was delicious; we particularly loved the duck confit hash and the grapefruit brulée. The waffles were super fluffy, too! I had the Paper Press cocktail which was SO TASTY and it came in the cutest teacup! We had a wonderful time at Outlier and will absolutely stop by again for another meal! Thank you Susan and Chris and the rest of the Outlier team! You rock!

What more can I say, but this place IS A MUST for anyone who enjoys fabulous food, fantastic service and an cozy/energetic setting. The kitchen is in full view of all tables and is exciting to see what they are up to. Very convenient for dinner before we run down the hill and catch the Ferry back to Bainbridge Island or dinner before a show or theatre. We will continue to recommend to anyone who will listen as well as keep coming back ourselves. Like I said - A MUST PLACE TO DINE!!

breakfast meeting - we waited several minutes past our reservation time to be seated because 1 of the group of 3 had not yet arrived, and our table was not ready, then waited again to be served coffee, and again to order breakfast. Luckily we had some wiggle room on the time and the food, when it came was OK, but I won't return except out of convenience/necessity. I ordered poached eggs, which came in a separate bowl, but were not thoroughly drained - messy.

We were not too thrilled. We found this online and it had really good reviews. That's why we picked this location. Plus it was close to our hotel. When walking into the restaurant we were really impressed with the ambience. However the service was really slow. We had to waive our waiter down multiple times. The food was average at best.

We ordered four dishes from the starter menu to share between two of us. The roasted carrots were outstanding. Everything else -- heirloom tomatoes with burrata, squash blossoms, and duck fat fries were just ok. We sat outside on their lovely deck, but were kind of forgotten by the waitstaff. Drinks came after food had already arrived. We had planned on ordering a main dish to share as well, but it didn't really seem worth it by the time we finished the first round.

I loved Outlier's predecessor, Sazerac and hoped that I would like Outlier as much. The good: service is excellent; waitstaff is pleasant and we never waited for anything; the fried chicken sandwich was proclaimed the best that my son had ever had (I liked it, thought it was a little salty); my salmon sandwich was tasty, but the sauteed onions and spinach on the bottom made it a little greasy and wet (I'd order it without the onions next time). The fries are thin wedges, tasty and not at all oily.
The not-so-good: this is one of the loudest restaurants I have ever been to. Most of the decor (except the weird mismatched banquettes and 90 degree booths) is all hard surfaces, so there is no dampering and conversation requires near-shouting. I don't usually remark on a restaurant's decor, but Outlier's is so disjointed, it's distracting.
