The restaurant features a vibrant, casual bar and dining area within a clean, warm space featuring wood floors, subway tile, zinc cladding, and industrial steampunk elements. The kitchen opens onto one of two dining rooms and the two-sided soapstone bar is built into the facade, serving 50 craft draft beers to a large bar area inside and a 60-seat beer garden outside.
Earth n Eats fingerling sweet potatoes, parsnip crisps, smoked pepper aioli
kale, romaine, parmesan, sourdough crisps, red onion, classic caesar dressing
Fish and Chips
fresh pollock, house-cut fries, tartar sauce, malt vinegar
The cheese on the kale and apple salad was used to decorate the plate like icing in a very thin layer. I am unaccustomed to having to scrape my food off the plate to eat it. The rest of the salad was minimal with a few apple cubes and seeds. I eliminated the bacon because I don’t eat it. For $16, this should have been a meal, but it wasn’t. My friend ordered the salmon. The salmon was well cooked but the small bed of vegetables was a bit overcooked and we realized later there was no sweet potato mash as advertised on the menu. There are only 2 types of red wine on the menu to choose from, pinor noir and cabernet. Given the large choice of beers, a Malbec or Shiraz would be nice. If you cannot eat dairy, the only dessert choices are sorbet or rice krispie bars. A pie or cake might be nice. For vegetarians more hearty salads would be great.
Great service! Parking garage in the area is a bit crazy so allow time for that!
Great food and drinks! Servers and manager, Chris are fabulous, attentive, and polite.
Owen's is the best place in N Bethesda/South Rockville area for a cold beer and bites, especially if you want to sit outdoors! The environment is very family-friendly and relaxing. The Chef is awesome and everything I have had on the menu so far has been fantastic. My favorites are the fried chicken sandwich with calabrian chile sauce, the mushroom flatbread, zucchini fries, and the shrimp sliders. The bang-bang cauliflower special is also amazing. The beer selection is excellent and highlights many local and regional beers such as True Respite and Crooked Run. HH is on Wednesdays and Sundays.
This has quickly become one of my favorite places in North Bethesda. Parking is right next door in a spacious public garage. The patio is fantastic (when it's not raining...Lol!). The food and service are excellent, and the beer selection is on point.
Nice spot for a fantasy football draft, and happy hour is all day on Wednesdays!
Wonderful location, great staff! The beer selection is great, though I wish they'd add more to their cocktails menu. The food is good. A great spot to spend a casual evening on a date or with a group of friends.
Servers were good and attentive.
very rude bartenders, other staff seem real disinterested in working there- food nothing to be thrilled about - would not go back
Food was mediocre and over priced. Wine selection very limited BOH gratuity on check is unacceptable company’s responsibility to BOH team
Sat outside, great service, beer list is fantastic, food is good but a little on the pricier side.
Owen's is ordinary bar food, a little over priced, but on par for the area.
Good Beer Selection.
Decent food, weird ordering/service scheme. The parking at Pike and Rose is an absolute shitshow - anticipate at least twenty minutes wasted trying to find a spot. It’s a rather sizable deterrent to going there and spending money.
No true table service- have to order everything (even a side of ketchup or a water refill) online, making the experience very poor.
We were disappointed this time. The beer was not icy cold. Service was great though
The staff and food were outstanding. I left a sweater behind and one of our servers followed us outside to give it to me ! So fun watching the Nats, US Open, and nets/bucks games all at the same time. Can’t wait to go back.
Did not like the self ordering system. I was doing all the work and spent my first 20 minutes doing the ordering on my phone. Staff running plates and wiping tables were rude and didn’t really care about our experience. Had to start a new order just to get another round of drinks? The food was fine nothing special. Good beer menu.
Friendly and accommodating staff - we super appreciate you with your safety measures during the pandemic as well!
Owens's Ordinary has a good small menu - the burgers and fries/wings are great - been going there for years and they never disappoint.
Super annoying that we had to order our dinner via our smart phones. Why go out to dinner if there's no service?
Great fun! Terrific value, fabulous location, service and menu offerings. The staff and management is professional and highly focused. Happy hour is the best.
We love Owens Ordinary! Sat outside with the heaters and has a great time. Food was delicious and our server was so accommodating. We have a wild 2 year old and he made sure to bring the food out fast and make our brunch awesome.
Great spot in Pike and Rose! Loved being able to order everything right from my phone. Staff was wonderful and brought us a whole pot of fresh coffee when we asked about refills, which wasn’t necessary but made us very happy!
Great place to grab a bite and a drink, nice patio area with picnic tables good service, very tasty food options, reasonable prices.
Much more limited beer menu, pretty understandable, great table side ordering and paying but holy cannoli the covid service charges were pretty pricey! They do great on the covid measures (air purifier at the table, distancing patrons), but add another 2 bucks on per beer and up from there before tip! Turns into more than you were expecting for a night out. The burrata toast is fan-friggin-tastic though!!!
Great food, great service. In line with all the precautions due to the Pandemic. We will be back for sure.
Great set up for safe dining in COVID-19 world
Owen’s Ordinary is a fantastic place to meet up with friends or family and enjoy good food, drinks, and a beautiful space. The outdoor seating is wonderful and spacious, and the online ordering system makes it so easy to get service. Loved it!
We ate outside at the patio. Owens is one of the best places to eat during the pandemic. The food, service, ordering process, and staff are all great.
We have eaten here several times. The food is always excellent, and the service is always friendly & professional. The restaurant is always clean and comfortable.
When the restrictions on restaurant seating were high in MoCo I understood the high COVID fee and not allowing modifications to menu items. However, now as things have lightened up I think the time has come to either reduce the COVID fee or to allow modifications/substitutions on food orders. It kinda sucks to spend so much when you can't even order exactly what you want.
The food here was good, it just seems a bit over-priced for some items.
We were a bit disappointed with the limited beer menu but overall we were happy with the beer we chose and the food was very good.
It’s our favorite spot; we’re regulars! We are so glad indoor dining has opened again!
Heaters made the cold alley bearable. Wish the TVs were more visible from the outside. Nonetheless, had a good time. Oh and wish mimosas were bottomless.
Nice warm, heated, outside seating. Ordering from the table through an app. Disposable dinnerware. Very friendly staff. Felt safe.
Great time! Good service!
My best and I haven’t seeen each other for almost 10 months since the pandemic happened it was both our first times out together
Th appetizers here are never good, and the service is extremely slow. We all loved our entrees, but unfortunately we were then served stale coffee.
Poor food quality and overall disappointed.
