pan seared chicken with demi glaze marsala wine and mushroom sauce with rice and vegetables
My experience was delightful. We were room to the side of the bar. The service was incredible. Everyone came to our table with a smile.
Delicious. There were 7 of us and we all enjoyed our dinner here, The owner is always here and always greets us.
I always drive by and see a full parking lot. I want to say, WOW, now I know why. The bartender was fantastic, Regina. She took great care of us and made some amazing drinks, get the pumpkin martini!!!!. I had the Short Rib Special, one of the best meals I've had in years. Fantastic. My wife had the sole special, was perfect. We cannot believe we drove by all these years. Will return
I had a wonderful birthday here at the Oxford Tavern. Our server was Kelly, she was very helpful with our questions, I'm gluten free, so the made me GF pasta. They did a fantastic job in accommodating me. Their Creme Brulee was one of the best I've had in years.
Pleasantly surprised , the service was prompt. The staff were all so helpful. We came on rib night, and oh boy, we have leftovers for tomorrow! These were fall off the bone baby back ribs, superb. I cannot say enough what a value. Our new spot.
Thank you , please visit us again.
Fantastic, great service, I had the filet Oscar, it was perfect and so tender. Will return
Thank you , please visit us again.
Won’t be returning
If you are not in a hurry, the food is great. Service not so much. Waited almost an hour after ordering our meal. We both ordered the house special of the day.

Restaurant was mildly busy but service good. Food excellent
Will go back again soon
Food was very good. Service was spotty. Good value.
Service was good. Food was mediocre for the price. Probably won’t be back.
Great food. Great service. Big portions. Waitress was great about substitutions and special orders. Everything was delicious.
The friendly and attentive staff, the creative and well-prepared meals, and the relaxed atmosphere all combined to make our dining experience at Oxford House excellent.
Clam chowder "freshly made" tasted like from Newport!
Fra Diavolo with Linquine excellent!
Reasonable prices considering the guality!
First time here. Started with the strawberry lemonade coattail which was very refreshing. The wife and I shared a salad which was huge. Had to bring some home. A friend of ours also had a huge salad which she had to take home.my wife ordered the chicken parmigiana. She said it was very good. I had the fish and chips which was also very good. Our friend had the shrimp skewers which she said was wonderful. Overall the food was good with large portions. My only complaint was the tartare sauce that came with the fish didn’t have enough relish in it. The waitstaff was pretty good but needs a little more training on how to deliver the food to the table. Should not be reaching over people. We did enjoy our visit and may return.
Showed up hours late, just before closing, and they found us a table by the fireplace. Very clean and nice atmosphere. The Server was very personable. The food. Delicious, I had the Mahi special, it was fantastic, my wife had the surf and turf, what a presentation. and the steak was so tender. We will return.
Haven’t been here in quite a while. My friend and I shared several plates. We had the fried calamari, which was crisp and light. We then had the Emily salad. It was huge and definitely of sharing size. Fresh and delicious. Next we had the steak and shrimp kabob. Served on a skewer standing tall in a block of wood. The meat was perfectly cooked , tender and tasty. The shrimp were good as well with a little bit of spice on them. Topped off dinner with the triple layer chocolate cake, yummm. Perfect ending to the meal.
We were seated next to the door that lead to outside seating which put us square in the middle of a cold wind every time staff opened it. Sometimes they left it open while they talked to each other. It was very uncomfortable. It also took an hour to get our entrees although the salad came almost immediately.
The staff should have asked if we were ok sitting where they put us; they had to know it would be an issue, although we didn’t when we sat down.
Food was good waitress was very attentive no complaints
First time there since the new owners run it. (it has changed hands many time in the last few years) We were both pleasantly surprised by the staff and the great entrees. We had a great time and plan on coming back.
The food was very good but it was a bit pricey. We like the evniroment and will be back.
what was on brunch menu was changed last minute and home fries were not included per waitress, kinda cheesy to do that. Food was very good.
Wednesday night rib special
Will be back
Great family dinner. Great service. Kids loved their meal (came with a drink and ice cream). We will definitely go back!
My husband and I made ressies here for a Saturday night. It was a bit more crowded than I expected, but we had no issue being seated on time. The place is cozy and spacious. Seems to be frequented by a lot of regulars. We enjoyed our meals. We got the crab cake appetizer, and I got the fish & chips while my husband got the salmon burger special. We each had two cocktails. Service was painfully slow as it seemed like our waitress was handling both inside and outside tables. Overall not Ana’s experience.
Great place. Food is delicious, drinks too! Owner is present and so welcoming! Servers are very friendly!
Good service, good food, reasonable prices. We'll come back.
It is a great place to visit. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends.
We went here when meeting a friend for lunch. I live in Fairfield County and she lives in Hartford area. This was the perfect half way spot. EXCELLENT FOOD! My only complaint is that it not closer to my home so I can go here all the time.
Food was overall very good. Family loved the teriyaki skewers. But the lobster bisque was quite thin. NY strip was perfectly cooked. The penne ala vodka was a great hit as was the chicken parm. Staff was accommodating to dietary restrictions.
Service was a bit slow...may not be the place for a quick bite.
Will definitely go back.
Food was great and service given was also friendly. Chili and the wings tasty and Highly recommend the Honey Garlic Salmon for the main dish
Great night out. Service was prompt. Food was good. Restaurant was clean. Food was pretty good overall.
The waitress was fantastic. My wife's food came out unlike it was described. I ordered teriyaki whiskey glazed ribs. The ribs were tender but it was just covered in BBQ sauce, no whiskey or teriyaki on the plate. I am assuming they are having chef issues. But the waitress was fantastic. She agreed with my wife Offered her something else then gave her desert with no charge and even paid for her drink. Mixed!!
We always drive pass the Oxford House Tavern and comment that we should try it. We finally did and realized that we should have done so sooner! It was just perfect. We could not fault one single aspect of our experience. We greeted by the hostess and sat at a table immediately, our waitress came over to get our drink order and throughout our visit was available while not hovering. We will definitely be back.
The food was prepared perfectly. Beet salad was chilled the way I like . The entrées were the right temperature except for the fact they came out as we were eating our salad. Way to soon . I asked for fresh Parmesan for my pasta dinner and it was The store-bought type not freshly ground cheese . It was quiet and we sat by the wood-burning stove it was a nice atmosphere . We will return for dinner again.
We went for my wife's birthday. We were seated at our favorite table by the fireplace, which was great since it was a cold night. Our waitress, Molly, was lovely and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. My wife gave her some mask lanyards to hold her mask in place when not in use. She was very appreciative. The adult strawberry lemonade was delicious as was our meals: tacos and chicken marsala.
Food was very tasty we came out nice and hot just a nice place to go have finner
