Padmanadi in Edmonton is a vegetarian restaurant that brings the flavors of Indonesia to diners in Alberta. Its menu features only the finest ingredients and a dedication to vegan and vegetarian cooking that reflects the spices and authentic flavors of the Southeast Asian islands.
Padmanadi's menu includes a range of dishes like roti canai, fried spring rolls, bean curd drumsticks and deep-fried tofu for appetizers. Larger dishes at Padmanadi include soups like tom yum, wonton and corn chowder and stir fries like spicy eggplant, pan-fried broccoli and cauliflower, Shanghai baby bok choi and vegetarian meat dishes like ginger beef and kung pao chicken.
Great food. First time ever. Try the Ginger Beef!!!
This was a fun experience. The variety of food was great! Very nutritious! Also, the meat-substitute dishes tasted really filling and wholesome. The service was quick and friendly!
The owner asked me, “have it tried all the new vegan restaurants in Edmonton yet?” “Yes, but we come back here because it’s the best.”
The ginger beef amazes me every time I visit. It's magic.
As usual the food was great and our server was knowledgeable and friendly.
Padmanadi is consistently amazing. It's fully vegetarian with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. It's great for groups, birthdays, kids, intimate dinners, meeting friends, anything you like. It's delicious and the owners are wonderful beautiful people.
Always enjoy authenticity of dishes. Hard to imagine it is totally vegetarian. Servers are friendly but few at lunchtime, so it takes time to get served in the afternoon. Manager is good story-teller, especially about birthdays in Indonesia! Overall, enjoyed b'day lunch.
I'm not vegan and really loved the food, great stuff!
We are never disappointed when we dine here. Our grown daughters are vegen or vegetarian so it is a great place to go for family birthday and / or other celebrations.
Too fast bringing food, I mean starter and main too close
Enjoyable destination, but our last visit included what is hoped is a rare anomaly: one plate was delayed & when we inquired, were told it would just be a minute - however, it was considerably longer than that & all four at the table had finished their meals by the time it finally arrived.
Host and Server were great! Best to make reservations as it gets busy. Food tasted great, presentation very appealing and drinks were yummy!
I live in Vancouver and always go to Padmanadi when I’m here. My favourite restaurant ever! Thank you !!
It was our wedding Anniversary and we were looking for a "meat-free" place or a vegetarian restaurant.,....Staff was awesome and food was really good... we're a vegetarian family and we found this place amazing to for people like us....it's a must visit again place for us
Very good food, excellent service. Great choice for vegetarians as well as good selection for gluten free.
As always, Padmanadi did not disappoint. The food and service were wonderful.
I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If I could give it more than five stars I would!
We love Padmanadi! We went there for a birthday dinner and had a great time. Awesome vegetarian/vegan food and lots of selection. Loved it!
I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of service the excellent food and the atmosphere of this restaurant. The waitress was pleasant, non-threatening, not pressuring, and engaging.
We would very much like to come back for “seconds”.
Thank you Padmanadi for putting so much soul into your offerings and service. You will remain in our memories for future engagements and get togethers.
PS: bring a large group when you visit this restaurant, and take photos of the event, it would be a blast.
Great service, the food will really take your mind on a trip and pretty reasonable for what you get
Love this place! One of my go-to’s in Edmonton. The owners and staff are incredible, plus the food is AMAZING!
The absolute best service, everyone is kind and friendly, eager to help! The food is simply amazing, ginger beef and sweet and sour nuggets are definitely incredible!!!
First time at a Vegan restaurant and the food was so good. Would definitely go back
Best meal Ive had in a while! Such a friendly atmosphere. Thank you!!
This was our 1st time at Padmanadi's - delightful! Lunch menu started with a Sweet Potato Coconut Soup- loved it. We ordered Ginger Beef and Rendang Beef - would never guess it was not beef. Main dish comes with 2 spring rolls, rice and chrysanthemum tea - all at a very reasonable price. The staff/servers were super friendly and engaging. Would definitely come again - thank you!
This is one of our most favorite restaurants! The food was fantastic and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Great food, a bit on the loud side but not really the fault of Padmanadi. Hot and sour soup was a bit disappointing, not as authentic as we had hoped even if it was tasty(more sweet and spicy..) but the eggplant, rendang, curry and fried rice vermecelli were excellent. A bit pricey, but I would definitely come back.
My first time experiencing Padmanadi was through skip the dishes. I ordered the curry chicken and the mushroom dish. It was the best chicken I ave ever had; Turns out it wasn't chicken.
Second time, was date night. We ordered the sampler meat plate, ginger beef and coconut rice. The price for the quality of food is also unbelievably good. My date was also suspicious of how non-meat meat can be the best ginger beef ever had.
We are certain it's meat. :) Jk! My new favorite pre-event place.
This was our second visit to Padmanadi and both times were fantastic. The food came out quickly and was so good! A meat eater would not even know 😁
I love Padmanadi! The food is always delicious and the atmosphere comfortable and calm. The spicy coconut eggplant can't be beat.
The food was very good, I would not have known that there wasn't any meat or seafood. This place was recommended to us by a family member. The place was packed with line ups out the door. The owner was very friendly, came by our table to see how everything was. We are not vegetarians, but the food is good enough that I would consider being a vegetarian. We ordered the corn chowder soup, satay, green beans, seafood nest, chicken curry, coconut rice, salt and pepper tofu, as well as the mango cheesecake and chocolate lava cake.
Always exceptional! Our service and dinner was just great!
Like always, the food tasted great. The service was excellent. I tried the Assam tea with almond milk for the first time. It tastes great. The choices were many to pick from. I strongly recommend this restaurant to all vegans, but do make your reservations.
This has fast become one of our favourite spots to dine. Even our 11 year old who is a confirmed carnivore loves it 👍
Everything’s was very tastey, only thing was me and my date ordered separate dishes and they came 20-30 mins apart... when asked the staff played it off like it wasn’t a mistake... all the food ordered should be brought out at the same time!
We were very happy. Plenty of options and great taste.
My husband has a severe dairy allergy. There is no dairy in anything even the desserts.
You don’t have to ask which dishes have dairy.
Vegan or vegetarian or no vegan, no vegetarian it was great and we will definitely be returning to try more items in the menu.
Vegan, healthy, fresh dishes at reasonable prices with uncommon good tastes. What more could you ask?
Brunch tastes like the best omelets and Benedicts you ever had, but the protein is from soy, even the eggs, bacon, and ham. Servings are large, service is fast and efficient. Most surveys say this is the top place in town, and my family agrees. For supper, try the curries, the incredibly tasty veggie ginger beef, the fantastic soy "fish", the chicken-like legs and breasts, the rich seaweed and tofu soups.
Desserts look familiar but the rice pudding, mangos, and even the brownies are animal-free and taste-wealthy. We have been almost ten times and no one ever was disappointed or had a tummy ache or was hungry afterward. We try to go once every week or two. The veggies are fresh every day, the spices say "Indonesia" not New Orleans, and then there's chrysanthemum tea. Real tea and coffee are available, too. What a place. A huge Buddha smiles on you and the seats are heavy wood with kind padding. Heaven downtown.
Padmanadi is by far my favourite restaurant in Edmonton. I love that I can eat foods I used to enjoy as a omnivore but the vegetarian version! It’s so good that we can take our meat eating family and friends and everyone is happy.
Great food and service. Yummy too!!
Food was amazing as always! And our server was top notch! Your friends from out of town loved it.
Always very good!! Our whole family loves it. A new favourite
