“We grew up in a home where sesame butter (tahini) was consumed regularly alongside flavourful Mediterranean cuisine. Parallel was born from our history and love for sesame butter. It’s part of our culture and upbringing, and we want to share that with you.
There are few ingredients that are as versatile, nutritious, and just as damn tasty as sesame butter. That’s why we decided to make it in all its forms: try it in our dressings, salads, dips, bowls, and our famous homemade halva, and seed what is possible.
The three of us share a passion for simple meals with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and innovative techniques. That, along with our love for good coffee, art, music, and community, is what shapes the Parallel experience.”
Lovely service, warm atmosphere, and great food, especially for those who want to share plates and try everything. Highly recommend the Arais (if you're a carnivore) and the sublime Mushroom Mix – make sure you order extra pitas if you're getting dips – they're delicious. A great casual night of noshing and sipping, will definitely be back. Thanks Parallel!
The Ozery family are the most caring and generous hosts and food creators. I have been to Parallel three times and plan on returning with new guests and my Ryerson class in November. Attentive service, delicious, fresh and healthy food, as always. What a pleasure to experience the evolution of this great family business!
I have been dined in this restaurant for several times since it was opened. It never disappointed me every time. The food was just as authentic and delicious each time. The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxing depending on the day. My only comment is they don’t have a variety of deserts choices. If they can work on that would be a five stars experience!
Food was great.
Much too noisy for our friend with a hearing problem.
The food was excellent, and the service was good, but the space is noisy and conversation was difficult.
We had a parallel salad, a fattoush salad, a Black Sabbath, and split orders of hummus and falafel. All were quite good
Falafel were amazing, thought the hummus surprisingly bland, even with the meat ragu. Fattoush salad is a hipster interpretation of a fattoush salad, not a real fattoush salad. Surprisingly underwhelmed.
Always excellent service and excellent food!!
Service & food were excellent. I've been to Parallel once before, in the winter and I found it was rather cramped for space. With the patio open this time of year it was a much better experience as you didn't feel like you were sitting on top of the table next to you.
We had the Parallel salad, falafel, truffle hummus and the grilled seabass special. It was all delicious.
We'll be back!
Food was spectacular, a little noisy but overall excellent.
Very creative recipes with high quality and super fresh ingredients. Very friendly service!
Food was excellent - shared their daily special watermelon salad and I ordered their Parallel Salad (I added grilled tofu). Both were really good. My friend ordered the lamb & beef kabobs for her main. My only complaint was that although we said we would start with the special, my salad came out too so I was more than halfway done before my friend even got her main.
Great food, great location, really hype ambience! The portion sizes of the dishes were great. Lots of vegan options available. I would definitely recommend this place.
Very nice meal accompanied by very poor service. Wait staff all seemed new to the industry. Our drink order was taken, then the meal, then we were ignored for the rest of the time we were there. I had to get up to find a waiter for a second drink and again to get the bill. The food was quite nice though so could be worthwhile only if you’re very patient.
Falafels were amazing- service was kind and attentive without being in your space.
Only complaint is that it is quite loud, and with the high ceilings- it just seemed really busy with lots going on- hard to focus on conversations.
Braised beef lamb was amazing. Loved the pita. Service was excellent and looking forward to going again.
Everything was great.
Cleanliness was under par with expectations. Toilet was filthy. Our plates were greasy and the laminated menu was covered in food splotches.
Great food, good atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to others and dine here again.
Going back this Sunday! The food here is off the charts delicious.
Great food and service! Brunch on the patio was spectacular!
Food is awesome.
The kale salad was wilted - tired. It did not seem fresh. I’ve had it here before and was much fresher. Should always be fresh.
A fantastic food experience, completely unpretentious. Everything was tasty and plentiful. Service was great. 10/10. My fave restaurant in TO.
Always a good time. Server was a hoot. Thanks db
Best food ever. I’ve never had falafel like this, it is life changing! Very vegetarian friendly
Took my partner out for a nice brunch for his birthday. The service is excellent, they gave us the option to sit on the patio + the food is delicious. Their falafels are so airy and fluffy! How do they do this sorcery? :)
Food is well prepared but quite pricey for the amount of food you get. Highlight was their in-house hot sauce spice mixture. The space indoors is a large concrete room so it is very reverberant and hard to hear others when there loud house music playing in the space.
Great food, and excellent service, but it's too loud. The high walls intensify the crowd noise and electronic music. Maybe I'm too old...Again, the food was great, and the was perfect.
Wait staff very attentive. Seated promptly. Food terrific.
Delicious Mediterranean fare ... falafel and tabluleh salad are a must!
I book my reso incorrectly on open table, booked the wrong day by accident. The hostess was very nice and was able to get ya us a spot at the bar. The place was busy! The Bar was perfect the bartender was very cool and the help is with menus sections! All the selections were amazing, incredible food! Thanks Parallel for an awesome experience. I’ll be back very soon!
Amazing middle eastern food that was not typical cookie cutter menu.
Honestly food was delicious but we were without exaggerating bloated for 2 full days after having lunch there. We laughed about it but it genuinely will be the reason why I wouldn’t return. Not sure if it was the truffle oil or abundance of garlic but it took the term food baby to a whole other level.
We enjoyed it a lot. Food was delicious overall! service excellent.
This restaurant was a little out of the way for us, but well worth the trip. The food was excellent---the best Israeli food we've had outside of Israel. Good range of vegan options for me and some nicely seasoned meat options for my wife. With a nice bottle of wine, a few different dishes and coffee the total bill was less than many meals out we've had in recent years.
Service was horrible. Very slow. We had to ask the server every time we wanted something. It was not even busy. We would have spent far more money if he was around. The times he came by he would just eye the table and not ask anyone if they wanted anything. Very lazy and relying on the fact that it’s a well known restaurant.
I love this restaurant but our experience this time wasn't as fabulous as in the past.
Three of our lattes came out cold.
And the food wasn't as good as I remember it being.
I wonder if there's been a change in management.
It's still good just not as great as I remember.
Our server though was awesome.
LOVE the food! Our dishes came out extremely quickly - however at the end of the meal, we had to wait an extremely long time before servers checked in/noticed we were done eating, and then even longer to get our bill. Really incredible food, and we'll be back.
Food was excellent, especially the mushroom dish. Too noisy for my liking but did appreciate that they turned down the music. Still, nothing to baffle the sound. Only real complaint is that they need to be better identifying dishes that contain cilantro. Had asked the server before ordering and he identified a couple dishes but did not mention the falaffel. Bit into it and knew right away it was there. He offered to take it off the bill, but that wasn't the point. I ate something that could have easily ruined my whole meal because it is hard to get the soap taste out of my mouth.
