Pastavino translates to pasta & wine, the quintessential Italian experience, drawing inspiration from the traditional trattorias & enotecas throughout Italy. Michelin Star Chef Josh Laurano's menu focuses on modern interpretations of familiar Italian flavors, house made pastas, focaccia & secondi. We pride ourselves on seasonality, using local ingredients, and allowing them to be the soul of the menu - Materia Prima. General Manager John Gorga's beverage program features an exclusively Italian list, with a large selection by the glass, and 150 bottles from all regions. The bar showcases a seasonal craft cocktail list, local beers, and large selection spirits.

    We had a wonderful dinner at Pastavino. Exceptional Italian cuisine, a great wine list, and outstanding service. The noise level is a bit on the high side but Pastavino is clearly one of Staten Island’s best restaurants. We look forward to returning to Pastavino for another great meal the next time we visit New York City.

    Food was delicious. Restaurant is nice with a water view. Restaurant would not make a change to a meal (leave out mussels) which I found a bit odd, but that and that it was very noisy were my only complaints. I would def recommend it and would return.

    We arrived late because of a disgruntled busdriver who ignored two bus stops on the road from the Staten Island ferry, but not a problem with the staff. We had ordered a table on the outdoor patio, but did not get this table, although the table inside the restaurant was very nice, with a view through the large dining room windows. The service was good, with smiling staff, although we waited some time for the waiter to take our order. The food was brilliant, and the portions were large, at least for us europeans. The evening was ended with a great frozen espresso martini. All in all a good experience, but I recommend to plan the exit a bit more than we did. since walking along the road without a sidewalk on staten island is less than ideal. The island itself dissappointed somewhat. The restaurant did not.

    Menu is limited. however, what they have is top notch especially their homemade pasta. Wine selection is vast. A bit noisy .A Very New York trend atmosphere. We liked it very much. Would definitely recommend pastavino for a bit of a different vibe from the typical Staten Island Italian restaurant

    I made a reservation for an inside table and was given an outside table with no view. We come there frequently and we were with some out of town guests. I mentioned this to the hostess and received a snotty answer that it was inside since you have now covered the patio. I love the ambiance of your dining room, this was unacceptable. There was a very boisterous table right beside us. We could not hear ourselves talk. I will not be back here.

    The food was so good. I am still thinking of the meal wishing I could have it now. The others I went with also loved their food. Will definitely return when I can. The restaurant has unbelievable views making the whole experience even better.

    We were in town celebrating Easter with our son. Everything at this restaurant was wonderful with the exception of the noise. Music was loud which made people talk louder and our waiter was very Soft spoken. I struggled to hear what he was saying. But it would not keep me from returning.

    We got the focaccia to start. Ask your server before you order. They’ll tell you how much you should get depending on the amount of people. It’s a lot. The calamari was good but not a big portion. I had the pappardelle with the wild boar ragu. It had a little gamey taste in every bite. It was very good if you like wild boar

    Very poor menu for people with stomach problems like gastritis, esophagitis Everything is already seasoned and there was only one item after consulting with them that I could eat from their menu. I also think they are overpriced for their type of food and the very little variety. Service was good, better than the service I got on my previous visit.

    The food was delicious and displayed beautifully. The pork chop that I had was really wonderful, the honey glaze was such a delicious accent. I absolutely loved the olive oil cake. I have already researched recipes to try to simulate it at home. We will definitely be returning. PS. I did not like the choice of bread to start the meal. Although it was high quality, it is too hard and not the best choice for dipping with the olive oil.

    Been a a bunch of times. This is my daughter’s favorite restaurant so we came here to celebrate her and her husband’s first wedding anniversary. Service was outstanding. Drinks and appetizers were delicious. And everyone’s entrees we’re amazing. One was better than the next.

    Service was poor. Water took forever to be refilled. Two cappuccinos were never brought yet we were charged. The appetizers were served before our drinks were served. The portions of food were small. There was only one special offered.

    My wife and I visited Pastavino for her birthday. We went on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant is located in a wonderful section on the waterfront with great views of NY harbor. Service was passable with what was a personable and sweet waitress who was new to the service. The dinner began with a shared cheese plate and salad which were top notch. My wife had a lovely pasta dish and I had a swordfish dish. Mine was cardboard. And I wrote a review on another site saying pretty much the same thing. I got what I thought was a wonderful return email from co owner John who apologized and asked if we would give them another chance recognizing that the swordfish dish that nite was not their best effort. He said he was sending a gift card to make our next visit more enjoyable. We got the card and are looking forward to our next visit.

    Excellent food and service. It was a little loud but the atmosphere was very nice. The pasta dishes we ordered were delicious and perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Not good. Salmon was bad (extremely fishy, restaurant staff admitted something “was off” when we sent it back), all of the pasta dishes were over salted. Staff was not attentive. Their “made in house pasta” was at best boxed pasta they boiled. Do not recommend, will not return.
