Usually have seafood at Pat's, but tried the steaks this time. They were very nicely cooked and flavorful. Service was not quite as attentive as usual, but was still good and very friendly. And as usual, Pat's always has a fun, upbeat vibe.

Food was great except for barbeque shrimp. The sauce was so tart-too much Worcestershire or vinegar or something. Otherwise, the oysters, fish, sides, and drinks were excellent.

Didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t reserve a table outside on the deck for a small group of 6. Tables were available only first come first served. The restaurant wasn’t packed. Many tables available inside and out. But we could only reserve inside tables. They need to rethink their policy. Maybe take outside reservations but if it rains, put the reservation for six on the next available for inside. Other an that, the food and the service was great!

Had a particularly nice experience at Pat's Rest Awhile this weekend. My wife had the Cedar Plank Redfish and I had the Pompano Almandine. Both were excellent. We also had a bottle of the Ridge Grenache Blanc. This is not a typical restaurant wine and it was excellent. I applaud Pat's for bringing in such an interesting wine. Service was very friendly and helpful as always. Just a very nice, fun dinner.

The food and service here is always first rate. The wedge and beet salad were great. We also had the hangar steak and tuna two ways that were both exceptional. Would highly recommend!

Not sure what is going on. We love the place, but twice in a week I was disappointed in the food, sending one plate back. I should have sent last night’s food back too. I suppose this has to do with lack of help, but hope it returns to 5 stars again soon.

Food is very well prepared. Wait staff is very friendly and are attentive. One of my "go to" places for seafood on the Northshore. Would either remove the security cross bars on the doors/windows during dining hours or relocate them below the windows. They really ruin the pretty view out to the Lake.

Pat's is great. Love all of his restaurants. This review takes a hit because it was 100 degrees outside and the A/C was broken. Instead of letting us know ahead of time, so that we could arrange other plans, they did not. Food was great. Service was excellent. The redfish court bouillon was sweaty.

Found this visit to be a little out of character compared to our previous visits. Steak came out over done and I definitely received an incorrect drink order but it was not enough of a deal breaker to attempt to send either back. Kitchen appeared to be a little backed up towards the end of the meal. Not an overall bad experience, just not as consistent or as good as previous dinners.

A great local restaurant facing the lake. Good chargrilled oysters. The taste of Tammany was great. My salad was large and super crisp. The hanger steak tender. I skipped dessert. The Ooey gooey dessert is far too sweet for me. I’d rather something lighter. Others had fried plates or fish with crab. All satisfied. The iced tea like most places was weak. No real tea tasted.

Rest-A-While has a similar menu to the other Gallagher's restaurants, but it's more informal here. The quality of the food is still the same, and the service is attentive and prompt - there just aren't as many frills, etc.

When I am at the lakefront in Mandeville, I go only to one place. Pat’s. The food is excellent. The service is top notch. The drinks are great. But the atmosphere is what draws me in. Having a romantic dinner at sunset over the water. There’s nothing like it.

Pat's Rest Awhile is a nice casual restaurant with a great location on the Lake. The main dining room's decor/ambiance is pretty straightforward, but the food was excellent and the service was very nice. The Gulf Fish Almondine was Pompano with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat and was outstanding. Quality of both the food and service has improved markedly since my last visit a couple of years ago. If you have not gone to Pat's Rest Awhile recently, give them a try. They are doing good stuff in the kitchen.
