Food is pretty good but very weird sort of sloppy presentations. Especially pasta and steak dish. Service was fairly attentive but also awkward hovering that was slightly odd and uncomfortable. Portions are decent sized for Austin prices $22-$24 for pasta, around the same for pizza, and $40 for steak. Also steak knives need to be sharpened. Small changes would make this place better. However, I loved the ambience and would come back just for that alone.

Both visits have been very enjoyable. Impressive re-design of the former Cafe Josie. Outdoor space is gorgeous. Service was also very welcoming and pleasant. Just a couple of personal preferences, especially given this restaurant group run both Clark's on the same property and Sweetish Hill Bakery just a few doors down. A salami plate as an appetizer? Really? While locally sourced, we had to request some kind of bread to go with it. Water crackers would be better. But also, why not have that as part of a cheese board? (I personally prefer a cheese board without charcuterie and am impressed when restaurants offer that choice.) Related to this is the need for a wonderful baguette to accompany any kind of cheese/charcuterie. Likewise, why not offer oysters? You need a couple of these appetizers options! The entree menu could also use just a little more diversification as well. While I am not vegetarian or vegan, maybe some kind of couscous and mixed root vegetables? Maybe a lasagna du jour? In summary, we will return. We really like the design and ambiance and service, but how about a few more choices on the menu, please.

This was our first time visiting Pecan Square Cafe, and we had the best experience and best service! They truly pay attention to details and make you feel special. The burger was too die for as well as their chocolate mousse. We’ll definitely be back!

This was my 2nd visit and it was a good as the first visit. Even the host at the front door went out of his way! Our waitress and everyone that came to our table were so professional. Will be back!!

After seeing some mixed reviews here we were hesitant to try this spot but I’m so glad we did. We had a *great* meal and attentive service in a beautiful outdoor setting. (We intentionally avoided eating inside due to noise level concerns so I can’t speak to indoor noise levels but outdoor dining was perfectly suitable). My husband had the burger which was great and I had the sausage pizza which for me rivaled the best pizza I’ve had in Austin. If you’re on the fence, check them out. We’ll definitely be back!

The ambiance was nice, but noise level way too high to have a conversation without shouting and the lights were dimmed way too low. Overall the food didn’t impress me, and seemed to lack much imagination or unique ingredients to justify the very high prices. Drinks from the bar were good and the pizza with shishito peppers and sausage was tasty. Don’t bother with the olive plate - literally just olives from an olive bar and they weren’t pitted. Our service was very good throughout and overall we still had a good time.

It’s a beautiful restaurant. The food was very good, but the restaurant was so loud that we struggled to hear the server and there was a mistake in our order because the could not hear us when we ordered. The server offered to turn the music down, but it was difficult to converse with our guests until tables turned over The noise level came down and our evening was more enjoyable.

Lunch here at Pecan Square Cafe was fabulous, as always. It is my “go to” for business lunches because the service is great, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is nice. Parking is always an issue, so plan to spend at least 15 minutes finding a spot.

Pecan Square Cafe is an excellent little gem of a restaurant. It is very close to downtown but tucked away such that it feels like a retreat from the city. The food is sophisticated and very well executed and the service is always warm and friendly. A great way to spend part of your evening.

Get to this place before it’s impossible to get in. Arriving at this tucked-away spot feels like it must be a secret, then entering the handsome but understated reception bar: charming. Finely crafted cocktails, spot-on service, and perfectly prepared, presented, delectable food is the routine from beginning to end. Suited for romance or a small party, PSC is a welcome addition to Austin’s dining scene.

We had a Oaxacan chef's tasting menu, which was tasty and creative. Staff explained each dish as it came out. The restaurant recommended Mexican wine with the dinner, so we went with that, but it looks like the wine list is more extensive if you ask for it. Service was efficient and attentive. The noise level was very high, but thankfully what music we could hear was bossa nova, which was nice. (Some Austin restaurants play stuff you would not want to accompany dinner.) We will definitely try it again sometime when we can get the regular menu, to compare, and when the weather is nice enough to sit outside.

I'd call this spot a hidden gem, with a classy, clean and inviting ambiance, professional service from servers and managers, and a talented kitchen staff that aims for simplicity done well. The green salad with tuna conserva is brilliant, as are the eggs with trout caviar. While they are known for a rather costly chicken dish, I prefer the pork schnitzel and cheeseburger for entrees. An innovative wine list features notable and unusual regions, including West Texas and New Mexico. Not inexpensive, but high quality usually isn't. Highly recommended!
