Valentine's set menu was excellent. Wine pairings were good as well. Dessert was a perfect ending.

Came here for dinner and decided to go with the Winterlicious Menu. Potato latkes and the fois gras were amazing! General tsofu was very salty though -it was coated in hoisin sauce. My husband and I couldn’t finish the plate. Branzino and braised beef plates were good. The lemon tart was delicious (very tart!) but the peanut butter chocolate was too rich to finish. Every dish seemed to have very strong flavours so it’s probably best to share with a few people. Otherwise, it’s too overwhelming to eat with only one other person.

Did the tasting menu - I’d say everything was decent but this place does not flow properly for a tasting menu experience. Due to the number of food influences I felt like simply picking what we liked would have resulted in about the same experience.

Came here for a girls' night. Great for 1-4 people but it's a small place so I don't recommend large groups.

The staff are pretty attentive and the food is delicious. A lot of Asian fusion on the menu. A little expensive, but a nice little treat-yourself sort of night. The dishes are quite unique.

A little hard to find on a busy street like Spadina (the restaurant sign is not prominent) - so just be aware!

For the people...by the people...you know how it goes. This is a place where I felt at home instantly. Cozy and inviting while still hip and cool aesthetically, I chose People's to celebrate my daughter's birthday on a cold Sunday night. The 4 of us were seated in a lovely nook that felt like our own private space but with sightline to the main dining room so we didn't feel left out. The staff was beyond attentive in a casual way and the menu...well...it featured every signature dish I'd have to go to 6 restaurants to get. Roasted marrow, smoked trout on potato latkes, miso eggplant, chopped liver fois gras....this was just a delicious start- an eclectic and yet inclusive variety of food. We also ordered the tiffin box to share...again, divine-hit the spot divine. A very special place....my people will be eating at People's again, that's for sure!

We were a table of 4 for NYE and got the group menu. It started out well and went down hill quickly. The third course forward was cold, not flavoured and some what unappetizing. I was also disappointed with their service. I had to order things twice for them to never show up, then our waiter disappeared and we didn’t get our champagne until after midnight and after we paid our bill. Was very disappointed since in the past it has been such a great time and experience.

We had a good time here. The shared plates were all tasty though some of the combos left us a little disappointed. We thought the Jamaican Beef Cheek didn't taste all that Jamaican, i.e. the flavours were a little bland though the beef was perfectly tender,.The bone marrow came with tortillas and salsa, which lacked a little in terms of overall mouthfeel as the salsa and marrow were both saucy and buttery. The General Tsofu was excellent and the others we ordered. Overall, a solid place, though we preferred 416 snack bar.

We had an amazing experience at peoples eatery. The food was delicious and atmosphere was casual but vibrant. But what truly stood out was the staff. They were so accommodating and the service was the best I’ve experienced in Toronto hands down. We all loved our peoples eatery and will
Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic spot to eat in Toronto :)

The standout dishes were the raw trout salad - great textures, awesome gochjung dressing - and Jamaican beef cheeks. Remainder of the dishes were merely okay. Service was, to put it mildly, not terribly enthusiastic- bunch of folks who seemed to be going through the motions...

I wish there were more plates that were larger to pick from. The prices jumped from $20.00 to $55.00. It would have been nice to have more things in between? The tofu appetizer was heavenly, as was the mushroom vol au vent. It was a nice place to share plates and have good conversation.

The service was non-existent. It took more than 30 minutes to get a glass of wine and a pop. Food service was atrocious with 3 appetizer plates arriving to the table after 1.5 hours. Everyone else seemed to be getting service except us, and the restaurant had open tables still. Lousy, would never recommend and would not return.

Food was very good! The Tongue Sandwich is amazing! The only criticism was when we ordered the Mexican Style Bone Marrow, they served hard room temperature corn tortillas when they should ALWAYS be Soft & HOT HOT HOT!

Bar cocktails were a let-down from the last time I visited in summer. They took a long time to arrive too. Service was strange. Waitress’ attitude was condescending.

A wonderful restaurant. The menu is eccentric and the food is exceptional. I love the concept and they execute perfectly. The wine list is fantastic and well thought out. Every dish and appetizer we tried was cooked perfectly and delicious. If you like the idea of pairing French wine with latkas and Vietnamese food you’ll love this place.

Our dinner had a great start with the viet rare beef salad, which was refreshing and delicious. It got me exciting for the rest of our dinner. Next came the bone marrow, which was good but you can’t really screw up bone marrow. It was good, but I’ve had better. For the main course, we shared the curry crab and it did not meet my expectations at all. The curry sauce lacked flavour. Maybe the sauce should’ve been served on the side, as it was all soaked in the rice. There was no sauce left on the plate to eat the roti with. For $65, we have got about 3 oz of crab meat with a few shells in it, a poor curry sauce, and a large bowl of rice to fill us up. I normally don’t spend time writing reviews, but I left very disappointed.

The service was smooth and welcoming with friendly servers, but unfortunately, the main course ruined our night.

Went to People's eatery with a friend for dinner. The food was awesome, I didn't expect much from the panzanella salad but it was great. I try to stick to a vegan diet and I had 3 options!

The bar tender made custom drinks for me and they were delicious. Great service!

Food is amazing as always. Our faves are the General Tso Fu, Tongue sliders (which tend to run out if you're slow), HDB and Whitefish on bagel crisps. SOOOO GOOOOOD! service is also generally good, might be a little slow at times, but still good. Drinks are always good. I like the Tokyo Sour. So glad they're on OpenTable now, so much easier to make reservations.

We enjoyed the food and setting. The noise level was a bit high - but not terrible. Our party had issue with the number of servers that we had - too many. Food would be dropped off & there would be no information provided or we didn't have plates. The sommelier was fantastic.

An evening out worth friends - There wasn't a dish we didn't like but particular favourites were the lamb croquettes (out of this world), the HDB (fresh and light), chopped liver, pudding chomeur and lemon tart with blueberry compote (both delicate and decadent). There were a couple of hiccups with our order but our servers, Blake, in particular, were amazing about remedying things. The creative flavour profiles and attentive service are only two reasons to make People's Eatery a must. Can't wait to return for the tasting menu!

What an extraordinary meal! We were a group of 6 celebrating a bachelorette (but very low key) and Peoples Eatery was PERFECT.

Our server was incredible - I think her name was Cara, but I may be making that up. She was so knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating.

The food was incredible. So unique and tasty. We were with a bunch of picky eaters (picky in general, vegetarian, dairy free) and everyone was still able to eat... and very happily.

Highly recommend.

We were a party of 4 that came in for a late evening dinner. Overall it was a great experience. The menu was great and full of options. Our server was very attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meal.

The only issue was the portion size. The food was delicious there just wasn't enough of it on the plate. The steak and poutine for example, amazing beef and a great take on poutine but there just wasn't enough for us all to have nice big bites.
