Love the respectful homage to its predecessor. With the style of food, definitely more fun to share a few things at the table. The spaghetti with meat sauce is perfect. Save room for dessert! The cheesecake and tiramisu are worth it.

I’m hoping I will have a table reserved for me at all times because I will be visiting often. Definitely kept the old charm that Nick’s had. Loved it!! Make sure to ask for a bib, they have custom ones.

They kept the traditional vibe of Nick's Spaghetti House but improved the quality of the food immensely. The menu is simple and kept to one page. Tee pasta is fresh and delicious and the tiramisu dessert was to die for. It does get loud in the restaurant mostly due to the small space. One downside is that you are so close to the table beside you that you are basically having a conversation with them.

We always went to Nick's & enjoyed it! Now we are finding Pepino's Spaghetti House more enjoyable!
Three of us - two had Spaghetti & Meatballs - found it better than Nick's! I love the Crusted Sable Fish & Garlic Pasta! We will return!

we absolutely loved this place! we wanted to check it out because my husband used to go to nick's spaghetti house and we had been to savio volpe and loved it. we went 3 times in two weeks which is saying a lot! we are super picky and always have a hard time finding restaurants and food we love. we brought our cousins from Italy and my 90 year old Italian in laws and they all loved it. I'm not sure which we enjoyed more the food, the service or the room? they were all sublime! every dish we had was outstanding!! Romano and the whole team there treated us like royalty. highly recommend.

Phenomenal food! Upon checking in we were greeted with champagne to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Once seated, we had the calamari to start and it was outstanding paired nicely with a garlic emulsion sauce! Next up was spinach & ricotta cannelloni and the chicken piccata. I can’t stress enough how amazing the chicken piccata was. I’m still thinking about it. My partner loved his cannelloni as well and said it was amazing. We will definitely be back and we both highly recommend!

We ordered the Caesar salad, the spaghetti with meat balls, and the chicken. The server brought bread and butter but the bread was cold and we just figured it was that way until the next basket came and it was warm and toasted. The Caesar salad felt like it was missing something and we soon figured out it was the lemon that came on every other order that passed by. The Spaghetti came out and it was very good. The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente and they outshined the meat ball. The chicken came out and it was very moist and flavourful. But the side of potatoes we ordered came quite a bit later. We asked the server for extra olives for the aperol spritz but they never came. When we asked to pack our left overs of chicken, potatoes, and meatball, our server said he would put in some bread and we paid the bill. We were waiting for our leftovers because we were going to a movie but they never came. Our server asked if someone had come over and told us what happened. And since no one had, he explained that most of our leftovers had been thrown out. He said they were remaking what they threw out and it would be out shortly. 15 minutes later he brought us a box with just chicken, without potatoes or bread. We left but missed the movie. I understand they have only been open for 2 weeks but there are too many mistakes. It was better as nicks. I really like savio volpe but was disappointed with pepinos. Hopefully they will be able to work out the kinks within the next month or so. As there is potential, but they’re not quite there yet.

My husband and I were very excited to try this new restaurant for a date night. Despite making my reservation two weeks in advance, when we arrived for our 7pm reservation our table was not ready. The restaurant was crowded, so we had to wait outside for our table. When we were finally led into the dining room, we were place a table that had obviously meant to be a table of four, as our table was separated from the table beside us by like an inch. So when the sat the table beside us, it basically was like adding two additional people to our table. This ruined our romantic date. The man seated beside me bumped elbows with me constantly while we were trying to eat. Despite the restaurant being extremely loud, you felt like you couldn't have much of a conversation as the people next to us were SO CLOSE. Food was ok. We both ordered a spaghetti dish, as that is their signature dish, and both were very basic but good. No real flair or flavor. No garnish on the plates etc. Service was decent. We will not rush back to this restaurant.

This was my second visit in 10 days. I was looking forward to another great dinner.
However, I was surprised to see so much changes to the menu already. While few changes were understandable(side menus are gone), some changes were very disappointing.
Meatball spaghettoni was no longer served with proper spaghettoni but comes with thin spaghetti. Portion was much smaller and only had two meat balls instead of three.
It was good quality food and great value last week, unfortunately that is no longer the case.

Filling Nicks shoes and then some.
Was extremely pleased with the offering from Savio Volpe.

A fantastic nod to the previous establishment while stepping things up a notch.

Everything was on point - Service, Food, Ambiance.

Will be coming back for our family dinners from now on

We chose this newly opened "hot spot" to celebrate our anniversary as we have had fond memories and experiences at the former "Nick's Spaghetti House" which took up the same space formerly. The restaurant was bustling with people and staff and it was very welcoming.
Much appreciation to the wait staff as they were very good. I am hoping that since they are a recent open, that the kitchen has time to work out its kinks, especially in the way they serve out the food.

The price point for mains is to be expected ($18-$25) however, portion size and execution is still a work in progress. In general the pasta was flavorful, but plentiful it was not. We ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and the taste was definitely on point, however, the serving size was a bit lacking. Also ordered was the veal cutlet. In all honesty, this was very disappointing. The thinly pounded veal was, in my professional opinion, overcooked and rather tough to chew - over breaded and overcooked, the 4 cutlets were served on their own with sauce and no sides. The expectation was that sides were to be ordered separately. So there was no value to be had at $6 per piece. This was mentioned to the manager and we were able to have it replaced with another dish - which was far superior (spaghetti and meatballs)

We finished off our meal with the classic cheesecake which was an homage to the former Nick's - that did not disappoint at all and it was a great end to our dinner.

Once they finalize the menu and get the initial opening kinks out, Pepino's will be a mainstay on The Drive for many years. We will give them some time and return to try their offerings again.

I had the most amazing time at Pepino's on Tuesday evening with my sister. The moment we walked in the door, Renee greeted us with a warm smile and made of feel so welcomed. My sister and I love to check out new spots around town and after our meal, we said "Why would we go anywhere else, we just found the perfect spot in the city!"

Congratulations! One week in and you guys are KILLING it.

I had the best martini of my life, and enjoyed every single bite of my spot prawn pasta (if you know whats good for you - you will NEVER take that off the menu...)

Cannot WAIT to come back and try out more of your amazing dishes!

Really delicious and amazing attentive service. Got the family style menu which was a great deal at 45$ each. Wine list is great, the negronis are poured at your table and the aperol spritz is delicious.

Started with the Caesar salad, no croutons but the dressing was delicious.

Antipasto salad was next, various cheeses and salamis with roasted pickled peppers and artichokes. It was outstanding.

Cannelloni was the best I’ve ever had but it’s not my favourite pasta dish. Appreciated the bechamel (cheesy and creamy) and delicious tomato sauce combo

The chicken piccata was moist and the sauce was tart and wonderful. Was served with their rosemary potatoes which were blah, would have liked to try the pan seared broccoli as a side instead

Cheesecake with strawberry sauce for dessert was rich and delicious! Would definitely recommend.

The bread and butter are wonderful but I would have liked the bread to be warm (just a preference)

The vibe is very speakeasy old school Italian. Love this place and already planning my next meal!
