Pepino's Spaghetti House
Always the best time!!!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! The food, service, atmosphere- everything was on point. Highly recommend!
I am not sure what I was hoping for, maybe clean carpets and a renovated bathroom at the very least. The food was ok the meatballs very dry, the sauce super salty, for the prices I would hope for better food. Maybe it was an off night... The service was great, the noise level was high, we could not hear each other across the table. Maybe this is because the table next to us was VERY close.. I would not rush back.
Service was amazing and venue was classic, but food especially the pasta could have been better. Didn’t taste like fresh noodles.
Pepino's is always great. On a Monday night it was a little less buzzy and energetic than the weekend, but of course that's the case. Great meal, perfect for bringing out of town guests.
Great food and service as usual!
Super tasty food. Loved the Sablefish, Tiramisu was to die for. Not a fan on the roasted tomatoes in the bocconcini salad, which is why I rated it a 4 instead of a 5. Service was excellent and I love the decor/ homage to Nicks.
Mixed feelings about our experience at Pepinos during their July special event. While we arrived early for our reservation, we had a half an hour wait before getting seated. The host was apologetic and seemed like he was trying to get us seated. Once seated we had a wait before getting our order taken as well. The gnocchi was delicious and the Alfredo pasta was pretty good as well. Our cocktail seemed premade (?) but it was decent.
Overall the night wasn’t what we expected from a special event, a lot of it because of the heavy delays.
Amazing old school Italian restaurant feel. Portions were very generous. Cocktails were delicious. A must try!
Delicious food and great service. A step up from the old Nicks for sure. Maybe 2 or 3! Look forward to going back.
Anniversary with family
The BEST of everything!
Still dreaming about the rigatoni and avocado salad!
Thank you so much :)
Great staff. A pork chop & tiramisu I'd kill for. Seriously.
Been to this restaurant several times now and always been pretty happy with everything . If you get there early -service is always attentive and friendly however they do get extremely busy & that’s when service suffers! Hard to get a second drink! Love there Caesar Salad - very well done!
It was better than I thought it would be and the food was out of this world. The servers are the nicest people and they genuinely care about the restaurant and you. Fabulous place.
We took a few important accounts here, for a business dinner, during their visit to Vancouver and it was the perfect spot! The food and energy were both wonderful.
Fabulous meal and service at a funky local spot. We were well taken care of and felt spoiled. We chose to partake in the tasting menu with wine pairing, and were delighted by the selections on offer. The only drawback to our evening was the noise level; for a romantic anniversary dinner it was less than ideal. We requested a new table and were moved to the back of the restaurant where it was a much more intimate experience. We love this restaurant and will be back, thanks for such a special night out.
Amazing! Nostalgic & modern ......... every bite orgasmic
I was worried about the prices, especially after reading some reviews. However, the portions are generous and made for sharing. My husband and I, with a good appetite, felt full after sharing a delicious avocado salad (with cheese, kale, beets, etc.), garlicky clam linguine and large veal scallopini (with fresh mushrooms and cherry tomatoes). Our friends felt full sharing just a salad and plate of rich fettuccine alfredo. The spaghetti and meatball plates going by were enough for 3 people. They kept us supplied with free sparkling water and fresh bread.
A glass of wine is $10, a half litre $33 and a bottle $50. Not cheap, but not out of line for a finer dining experience. If you want to add sides, dessert and more alcohol, then it will add up. They encourage you to share 4 courses for $90 for two, with wine pairings for $25 each.
The décor is interesting. The place does buzz, so is not good for those hard of hearing, but we managed. The service is attentive and professional. We had what we wanted, when we wanted it and did not wait for more. Probably won’t return, but I can see how it is popular and may be worth a try if the prices don’t concern you.
Wonderful recommendations from our server. There were 6 of us so we chose the $45/person menu item that included choice of 1 appie, 1 pasta, 1 main dish, 1 side and 1 dessert. Since there were 3 groups of 2 we had 3 items each. This gave us all the opportunity to try so many dishes. The portions were so generous we had leftovers. We definitely recommend Pepinos for both large and intimate gatherings.
Everyday value just wasn't there for me. But what a fantastic little spot! No wonder it's busy. Make a reservation well in advance if you want a table during peak hours. We were there on a Thursday night and had to choose 5:45 or 8:15 for our table. So we had appetizers down the street (buratta and prosciutto) and then mains at Pepino's.
The people are really sincerely friendly, no canned smiles here. Right from the front door on the way in to the front door on the way out we were greeted and felt welcomed.
Food was simple and loaded with flavour. The half roast chicken came with a roasted lemon half which we squeezed eagerly over the dish. Fried parsley was a nice touch also. The sauce for the spaghetti bolognese had a tender silky texture and was delicious.
I'm not in a hurry to go back anytime soon but I'd still recommend Pepino's for sure. For what I paid for me and my teenage daughter I put Pepino's squarely in the "special occasion restaurant" category.
Always amazing. Love this place.
Excellent food . Perfect for sharing .
The bathrooms are very run down , doors and locks are broken .
Food fantastic !
It was my husbands birthday and when he was very young he used to come to the previous restaurant called Nick’s. This was his first time at Pepino’s and he felt the nostalgia as soon as he walked in. Service/management was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our server sang happy birthday and the manager gave him a birthday card on behalf of the restaurant staff. The tiramisu was off the charts amazing. We will be back!
Good food and service however, considering the location and building the prices are steep. It’s not like the restaurant is in a prime location downtown that could justify the prices due to the heavy lease payments.
We were very excited for our dining experience here because of all the hype since it’s re-opened, but were very disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. The spaghetti and meatballs was barely a step above Chef Boyardee. Everything was overly salty. It was extremely busy and loud...couldn’t really carry a conversation.
Service was excellent, food as always was very good!
We went for my husband’s birthday. We have been there before and went back because the food and service is outstanding. We had the special lobster fettuccine with what seemed to be a whole tale on the top. The chicken piccata had a beautiful crispy and perfectly seasoned skin. The meatballs were large and delicious. We also had crispy potatoes sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. My husband loves the tiramisu which was the closest to what we had in Rome. They were out of it but our server Paula brought one out with a candle as soon as it was ready.
We will definitely keep going back.
Had the avocado salad and calamari to start and both were good.
My wife is lactose intolerant and they were not accommodating at all when it came to sauce with pasta so we went with The spaghetti marinara with two meatballs on the side. The marinara was terrible. Alphaghettis came up in our conversation about the taste. I could even taste the can it just came out of.
Had a nice time but will not go back and would not recommend it to anyone because it is not at all worth the price that they charge.
Food choices were excellent. Server was superb. Noise level spoiled what was otherwise a great dining experience.
The food was excellent! We shared a Caesar salad, linguine with clams and the ricotta gnocchi
, which was outstanding. The service overall was quite good. The only drawback was the table location which was beside the washrooms and kitchen entrance.
We did the set menu for two as well as the wine pairings, and we weren't disappointed! It was a lot of food, though, so next time maybe we'll go for a bit less. Would recommend!
The alfredo was the best pasta I've had and the food, in general, was delicious!
Our server genuinely friendly and helpful and Romano, the GM, went beyond to make us feel welcome.
A highly recommended experience.
We had shared menu for two with the wine pairing. Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Lamb Chops were incredible.
Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
Went to Pepino’s for my birthday. It was wonderful, from the food to the service and ambiance. We had the house avocado salad, penne alla vodka and pork chop Parmesan. Everything about this restaurant makes it for a memorable night out. Can’t wait to return.
Best Pasta I've had in Vancouver in recent memory. I can't actually think of a better place. I am going to return for sure and try other items on the menu.
Best Italian in Vancouver, hands down. Paul and his excellent staff make you feel like you’re dining in their home!
My Pepinos experience was very good. Our server looked after us well, and was really friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great. Will be back.
Food was excellent, but a bit pricy for the portion size. Also it was bit too noisy on a Friday evening to hold a conversation.
Great experience, awesome food! The best in town!!!
