   Overpriced. It’s fine dining Korean bbq with a lot of fluff but no substance. Meat quality was better than most other down to earth Korean bbq’s, but still does not justify the price. Everything else was just meh to me. Side dishes flavors were muted maybe to adjust to American’s lighter palates. Will not recommend if you’re looking for authentic Korean bbq.

   I understand why they tried to say it’s Korean American. Kimchi fried rice and kimchi stew were not authentic taste as if they put some butter so that locals can also enjoy. Ban Chan for $20 is a bit much. Other than that everything was good!

   Very nice place but way to expensive! They don’t even have a dessert menu and it was over $400 for 2 people. Service was so rehearsed that the waiter seemed fake. Wasn’t anything special, very cute place but will never be back again.

   All of the food we had at Perilla was good. But nothing was extraordinary or really made this standout from other Korean barbecue places. Overall the value was fair. A highlight for us was the service and the attentiveness of the staff.

   We celebrated two graduations on Saturday night at 7:30, and it was a great experience. From Arden in the bar to Max and the crew in the restaurant, the service, food and experience were top notch. Max helped us order and we had a perfect amount of food. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

    We went for my birthday and they were so attentive from the very beginning until the end. They provided great service and I never had to ask for anything, they just knew. The food was great too the meat was so good and all the side dishes were perfectly seasoned. I been to a lot of KBBQ place but this was a different experience. I truly loved the interior and how clean everything was too. I am so excited to come back!

    Great food, beautiful room and presentation but there is serious pricing overreach. Most outrageously, they automatically add a 5% tip for KITCHEN STAFF to the bill, rendering the concept of TIP meaningless. It's not disclosed in advance. Pay staff the wage they deserve and reflect it in the pricing, so people can decide value for themselves. In this regard, the restaurant is already on the margin. It is a Korean BBQ that charges $20 extra for the Korean BBQ accompaniments (kimchi,etc). The American equivalent would be charging for the bun, lettuce and pickles separately from the burger and ketchup. The server described the accompaniments as "recommended" additions. Yeah, otherwise it's not Korean BBQ; it's just raw, unseasoned meat you cook yourself. The set menu that includes the accompaniments is pricey and must be had and paid for by everyone at the table. Maybe a table full of Chicago Bears could finish that amount of food. I don't think a per head charge should be justified by leftovers. Is Korean BBQ that rare in Chicago that customers think this is normal?

    it is a restaurant too expensive for the food they serve. they charge you 100$ for 8oz of meat that has no flavor at all. They will charge you a special tip for the kitchen. the waiter forgot to bring us the appetizers. etc etc do not choose this restaurant go to another with better quality and food.

    Perilla is hands down one of the best restaurants in Chicago! The service is incredible with great explanations of the menu. We had a plethora of food and all of it was such high quality and tasted amazing. Can confirm, we will be back!

    I love Perilla! Probably go more often than I should, but the value and quality is incredible. The tasting is always an easy choice. Service is very attentive- there’s not one person on the floor who isn’t ready to help. They’re all equally knowledgeable about the menu to help guide you in the right direction.     Very nice restaurant, but I think even if you upgrade accompaniments you should still be able to have the regular sides that would come free too. My friend really likes Kimchi and she didn’t get any because we upgraded the extras. That’s my only suggestion, everything else was delicious and wonderful

    Perilla was the best Korean bbq we have ever had. The quality of the meat was top notch. It was tender and the seasoned one was so flavorful. At most places the marinated meats are chockfull of sugar that it just caramelizes and burns as soon as it hits the grill bit NOT at Perilla. Do not sleep on their vegetable dishes either. We had the eggplant and broccoli dishes there and I can't stop thinking about them. Every dish had so much thought put into it. There was saltiness, sour, crunch, sweet, spice. I can't say enough great things about this place. To top it all off the service was excellent. Every dish was explained to us so we knew exactly what we were getting. 10/10

    OpenTable app booked us for the next day but Perilla was able to seat us anyway which we appreciated. They sat us at a table without a grill but it was quiet which was great because it was a party of four and we were able to enjoy a nice conversation. The main area would’ve been too loud for conversation. The food was yum-yum not yuck yuck 😉 would return!

    Steamed dumplings were excellent. We got marinated ribeye and there was so much fat that is was hard to eat. The other meats were great. Mushroom risotto was ok - needed a bit more salt.the one pours are 4oz at best. I am a sommelier so k ow my pours.
