Waiter was polite and helpful but could have been more attentive, I had to hunt him down more than once. Its was Sat night after 8pm so it was busy, maybe they were short staffed. Dinner went well, drinks were alright and to be honest the food was way better than I expected. My only complaint would be the waiters assistant/busser, he was kind of rude. He displayed ZERO manners, he kept reaching over unfinished plates and drinks as well as bumping into my guests to clear empty dishes. NEVER once said "excuse me" OR "sorry". But other than that we had a great time. I would revisit.

Great meal. Each item was delicious. We loved the lo menu appetizer and the fried cauliflower and its delicious dipping sauce. Our waiter Sadi took great care of us. His attentiveness enhances our dining experience!

The wait team was amazing and very attentive. The food came in a very timely manner and tasted amazing. We were seated in a back room, which made for a more intimate experience. It was my first time going and my bestie wanted to take me somewhere nice during my intown visit.

I love going to Philippe Chow - Downtown when I'm looking for a chill yet live vibe. The food is amazing and the service is spot on. If you're looking for a more romantic vibe I'd stick to going on the early side before 9ish, after that its a bit more of a scene which is good if you're looking for that kind of vibe.

The restaurant had a situation which, was none of my business, was not of their doing and was eventually resolved. It did, however, affect the ambience, for me, and the tension reduced my appetite. I was about to leave, without eating, then......they brought my house mignon with rice of which dreams are made and which was absolutely stunning. The food was world class and the service sublime. The only memories of this peerless dining experience are excellent.

I had a really good time. It was very loud so my friend and I were screaming across the table to hear each other. The drink were DELICIOUS. The food was good but not amazing. The ambiance was dimly lit and had a romantic feel but the loud and energetic music made it feel a bit disconnected. It had a lounge feel. The people sitting at the bar were very loud so it was distracting. Overall we had a great time and I would return for a special occasion. I wouldn’t recommend this for a date night with someone you barely know though since it’s hard to hear people talking.

I surprised my wife for her birthday, and we could not I’m have enjoyed it more. Food was spectacular. Prawns perfectly cooked. Mignon like butter. Delicious cocktails. Service impeccable. Very cool decor. Music a little on the loud side but not obtrusive. Highly recommended.

Philippe Downtown is a perfection. The evolution of their uptown dining but with even more personality and energy. The music is excellent and the service quality is the best in NYC. Kostas (an operating partner) is personally involved in every aspect of the restaurant and it is noticeable. Bravo Philippe Downtown 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Considering the price, the food was average and underwhelming. Gelatinous dumplings, inedible chicken satay, dry fried rice, and inattentive service summed up what was essentially a forgettable experience. I paid over $400 and only enjoyed the broccoli. Would not return or recommend.

The DJ music level made conversation impossible. The atmosphere and food is all good. Service is slow and indifferent. We would come back but for the music level which is akin to being at a concert/night club level.

Came in for an anniversary dinner with my wife. Was able to order drinks and some rice. Waiter never came back to take the entree order. When we asked another waiter they told us the kitchen staff was gone. 10 seconds later, a party of 10-15 showed up. Food was flying out the kitchen with no problem. So much for the kitchen staff being gone. We never had a waiter come back after the drinks and little pot of rice. Was our first time there and most likely our last.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally decided to go for our anniversary. Food and drinks were good, but the ambiance was not the vibe we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. Music was loud and they played house music for the most part. This place is more of a birthday celebration or just because kind of vibe. We won’t be coming back. Better food, drinks and vibes at Tao.

I love the food at Philippe Chow....Uptown and Downtown. I prefer to eat early as the music does get loud the later you dine! I can't wait to go back with a big group so we can get more dishes! AND PEKING DUCK!
