Incredible food and great service. Had cocktails and dinner on Friday night with friends. Ordered app, pizza and pasta which were all excellent, standout was the egg yolk ravioli and mushroom pasta, very rich but will 100% be back in future to enjoy them again. Attentive and friendly service from everyone.
Recommend making reservation as it appeared to have constant flow of people.
Didn’t meet overall expectations considering the excellent previous reviews. Decor and atmosphere great. Hostess gave a bit of attitude when she at first could not find our reservation - definitely not a welcoming experience. Server however was lovely. Interesting menu choices but red flag raised when we saw the slab of cheese on our neighbour’s veal chop. Yikes. Saltimbocca chicken app tasty but served sloppily on the plate. Cauliflower app delicious. Pizza crust soggy which was sad considering reputation of pizza. Pastas were delicious and good quality however quite pricey for the size of serving. Wine selection good. Piano Piano has potential to be great but needs to watch out for fierce competitors at same price point offering better fare.
The food was terrific - creative, delicious and calls for a return visit. Between 4 of us we got to taste a range of items and all of them were very good.
Excellent balanced menu with a twist
We loved the decor and the atmosphere. The menu is varied and interesting and all our food was delicious. I’d definitely order the chopped salad again and the pasta with mushrooms was outstanding. BUT the restaurant is noisy and it seems to get worse with time - or maybe our tolerance is challenged the longer we sat on there?
The food was outstanding. Easily catered towards gluten free for guests at our table. Staff was friendly. Really enjoyed every dish
Dinner was fantastic. Grilled octopus for two was so well executed. Will defiantly return.
Always a good meal here... interesting salads,Pricey but worth it.Creative pizza, always good service.
We were here for my Boyfriend’s birthday dinner and had a great time. It was a Sunday but the restaurant was pretty busy. The food was amazing and they helped us pick out a great wine paring. The piano in the basement was a good touch!
Tried to get into the restaurant for some time now and it did not disappoint. Well worth the wait. Food was amazing, friendly staff. Service was incredible.
We had a great dinner at Piano Piano. We warned them in advance that we’d be bringing our baby in a car seat; they were extremely accommodating and placed us at the perfect table. Our server was attentive with wonderful recommendations. We love the atmosphere of the dining room and the food and drinks were all top notch. We’ll definitely return in the future.
We made a reservation well ahead for my milestone Birthday!! We sat at a table for 4 with 5 of us.. not comfortable. Our reservation took an extra 15 min. to sit which was ok. The Bartender was great suggested a good bottle of wine for our table. Our waiter was just ok .. no energy. He forgot our sides and it took several attempts for my family to get the piece of cake , that was pre-arranged beforehand.it was consistent all night Poor Service!! The Food was absolutely great! But a waiter is part of the overall experience of a Restaurant! I've already lowered my expectations here. The food is very good and pizza. The Hostess was also ok. On the recommendation by my dentist. I might give it another try.. I left 12 percent on a bill 280$
Not good .. but either was the service. If the waiter matched the food he could have earned 75$.
The noise in the place was difficult to carry a conversation and the food selection was not as extensive as I would've expected. That said, the food that we got was delicious. Additionally, our server knew how to provide service. She was kind, interested in how her customers were experiencing the night. She knew the food well and was confident with making suggestions when asked. As well, when she didn't know something she went and asked to ensure we had the best experience (Re: wine). She was attentive and interested in what kind of night we were having. I left the table on two occasions and returned to find my napkin folded and everything back in order. Even though the food was delayed she continued to check in and be supportive. Thank you – I would go back for the service, the food; but not the ambience and loudness.
Twice I have eaten here now - the first time our server was fantastic, second time - okay, but not great.
And a pet peeve of one of the others at the table (and mine also, though I am not brave enough to say anything) is when the server tries to clear the dishes before EVERYONE has finished eating. It is just plain bad etiquette.
Both times at Piano Piano had the pizza and the crust was very very soggy. I don't know what causes this but it is not the way a good pizza should be.
I also find the menu a bit limited, I don't go "oh, I want that, but that sounds really good . . and that too . . . hmmm".
Lastly, ordered "snack" olives with almonds and they come in separate containers - odd, and though warmed - no seasoning in the oil. I have had this combo elsewhere but served together in seasoned warm oil and its delicious! Not so here.
So, it was okay, but busy, so obviously lots of people like it!
The inside of this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous - something different on every wall. We had burrata to start, and it was some of the freshest and creamiest I've ever had. My Cavatelli Verde pasta (sausage, rapini, anchovy, lemon, parm) had so many flavors going on and was delicious. Great service and lively ambiance.
Yummy delicious food, lots of choices. Friendly, helpful and attentive service!
Food was excellent, service was good, other two seater tables just too close for private conversation. Was a little loud but overall, i’d go back!
The staff were great! It was my friend’s engagement and they brought us complimentary prosecco and a delicious dessert!
It doesn’t hurt that the restaurant itself is both charming and unique! The food is also amazing - I highly recommend the charceuterie board to all my foodies out there!
I’ll definitely be back!
Food was not bad. Nothing stood out to be honest. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The decor and ambiance was really nice.
What used to be an elegant room is now more like a cafeteria with 20 two-tops lining both sides of the room. The person at the table beside me was closer than my wife stilling opposite me, yet there is lots of space in the middle of the room going unused. There are no "neighborhoods" in the room - just two long rows of tables on the sides. Really unimaginative. The white chairs throughout the restaurant are very uncomfortable. Whoever bought them like the look but didn't sit in them for 30 minutes.
The wine list is too short and not very much stuff to like with a few prices that were way too high for the wine in question.
We ordered our food and it all arrived in eight minutes which tells you how much care was given to individual preparation. Clearly all the meals were done in advance and then quickly heated.
The food was reasonably good but the salt content on everything but the pizza was way too high. We expect that in a restaurant, but this was way higher than normal. Rather unpleasant. The mozzarella on top of the veal was cold and tough as nails.Inedible. Really poor although the veal chop was good (but too salty).
Our server Marita did a good job.
I went here for a date night.
The service and food were both great.
The portions were really generous. The veal was absolutely delicious. One of the best I’ve had to be honest.
One thing to point out because I personally think of this before ordering at places.... they do not bring bread or any type of starter so you’re okay ordering an app without worrying about getting too full.
Can’t wait to return!
Busy place and for good reason. Food is great and service is exemplary. Good choice for family gatherings.
Great ambiance and incredible food. Shared the smoked burrata and mushroom salad appetizers as well as the ravioli and it was delicious!
Great food and great atmosphere! The service was fantastic. Although we had a reservation and were 10 mins late, we had to wait approximately 40 mins for our table. They made it up to us by covering our dessert and sparkling water, although my understanding was that dessert was complimentary for my wife’s bday anyways. I suppose for anyone looking to celebrate an occasion, first check if they provide dessert gratis.
Anyways, we had a fantastic time at a great restaurant, and loved the food!
The cocktails and food were delicious and the server was friendly. They don’t rush you. Especially enjoyed the chopped salad, brussel sprouts and poached scallops.
Very creative, unique, delicious food. Excellent service. Fun and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Food was good, service felt rushed. Overall would recommend. Cute location for date night.
Heard great things about this restaurant and was excited to experience the menu; however, this was not the case, by a long shot.
I attended this restaurant on Valentine's day after making a reservation almost a month in advance. When I arrived, and was seated at my table, I was immediately (to my surprise) provided a pre-set menu in which I instantly received the starter... One thing I would like to point out is that the starter was not delivered in the condition to be shared by two individuals. The bread alone was super oily and difficult to even break apart.
That being said, after looking over the limited pre-set menu (and already receiving the complimentary drinks and food (without even discussing the options with the waiter) I decided to just go with it. This was the biggest mistake. The food was scarce for two people, was unappealing, and it truly felt like the restaurant was taking advantage of the customers. I only say this because I noticed the table beside me voicing the same concerns about the food and unrealistic cost.
While I could go on and on about my experience I will keep this short and say I truly believe that this restaurant dropped the ball with the level of quality and lack 'options' by using a pre-set menu. I'm not one to complain about 'cost' but I've never had an experience where a restaurant has truly disappointed me.
I would't recommend this restaurant given my experience; however, would give them the benefit of the doubt that their 'real' menu may live up to the reputation i've heard of; I hope.
It was my first time at Piano Piano. I heard many great things about the restaurant therefore I thought checking it out on a less busy night would be a good idea. I went on a Tuesday evening with my boyfriend and we had an incredible evening. The food, service, drinks and atmosphere was great! The restaurant truly accommodates everyone and also a great place to host large groups. Great for date nights, groups, girls/guys night out.
I will definitely be back and spread the word!
Excellent experience, beautiful place, delicious food, great service!
Service was poor and slow. Server wasn’t knowledgeable about the menu and it seemed he had no interest in our table. The bartender was nice and picked up slack from the server. Wrote in the reservation notes that it was a birthday but the server was unaware of it. Food was good and worth trying. However, the overall service, coupled with the fact that there wasn’t any toilet paper in the bathroom stalls dampened the evening.
I was introduced to this place by a friend and quickly made another reservation to bring my fiancee here for Valentine's Day. The food and service is great and the place has a nice vibe! Highly recommend the wood fire mushroom and the meatballs!
All was very good, but my only complaint is the same one I had last time we were there: The lock on one of the women's WC stall is STILL not fixed, and paper towels (you used to have really nice ones!) would be nice for drying one's face after rinsing one's lips and mouth. (It's a little difficult sticking one's face under the dryer.)
Went on a Sunday night with 5 friends and waitress was so attentive and knew menu inside out. Even on a Sunday, the place had a good ambience. We are all industry staff and we were all so impressed with quality of food and service.
Room was lovely. Service was mediocre to poor (waited forever for more wine, and when we asked for bread we we told that they charge for extra bread?) The appetizers were good but the mains were just ok.
Great food. Great staff. Great everything
Suggest you change the small chairs and put better comfy chairs bigger not small that the ones you have.
Piano Piano scarcely needs my endorsement (nor, I hope, do you really need one more positive review to convince yourself that this place is worth visiting), but this is an absolutely phenomenal joint. Its somewhat noisy, extremely vibrant, trendy, and entirely worth of its reputation and cannot reasonably be accused of coasting on reputation. This food is deeelish.
I ordered the Egg Yolk Raviolo (mandatory) and the buratta, and shared some canestri with my girlfriend. Our friends got the tagliatelle and I think it was the seabass, and enjoyed both. I followed with a Lemon tart which was sort of a typical dessert executed to perfection.
Really enjoyed the cocktails also. Check this place out.
Excellent cooking and service. We had yummy pasta and pizza.
Great neighbourhood or destination place
Great restaurant. The hostesses we’re very friendly which is nice when you walk in. The whole style of the restaurant was beautiful. The ambiance and noise level were a perfect pitch. I loved it all. The only small beef was our waiter. Although he was ‘nice’, he had very little personality overall. He was quite dull and had no exuberance whatsoever. When describing items on the menu, he was lacklustre and seemed bored. He came across like he was just going a job.
Other than that, the place was great. I will be back!
