I am glad we managed to squeak in before the The Piazza Restaurant was closed due to COVID-19, because we are left with warm memories of a very pleasant lunch with friends.
The general ambiance was great in the sense that one could enjoy a nice meal while at the same time watching people passing by.
The service was friendly and efficient, the food good, the wine superb (We were given a choice of two wines to taste before making our selection), and the noise level was acceptable.
I look forward to going back to Eataly and The Piazza Restaurant once the Coronavirus outbreak is under control and life returns to normal.
The restaurant and market in general were very quiet due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the service was absolutely stellar. The pizza is the Tuscan style which kind of reminds me of a clean and proper version of Pizza Hut pizza. Some will be upset with me for saying that but it comes in a pan and is deep dish. It’s different and exquisite!
Also tried the Hamachi crudo served ceviche style which was also excellent. Insalata Verdi never disappoints.
Can’t wait to go back!
We had 4 different waiters and they wouldn’t let me make any changes to my order which I thought to be very odd!
was surprised when server said they could not split a bottle of wine amongst the four of us. I've done this in many many smaller places and thought it odd that Eataly - the biggest newest place in town didn't have the capacity to do so. Will affect future decisions to revisit.
Second time there in one wk. Busy both days. I’ll go back
What an amazing way to enjoy our first Women’s Day March 8 with our daughter! Service and food was outstanding. We are still reminiscing about our fresh pasta dishes. We will definitely be back soon!
I really love Eataly. But if you have a couple glasses of wine each, that really ups the price. I was about $190 for two people and we each had two glasses of wine each. We should have got a bottle 🤦🏻♂️
Prompt seating & Attentive service
I’ll be back.
Amazing service. Our table was available 10 minutes early. All staff members were friendly and informed. Food was delicious!
Great post-work bite. Also loved being able to grab groceries, as well.
Sat at the bar. Bartender was fantastic!
Everything was great...until we asked for coffee.
What kind of restaurant doesn’t offer tea and coffee and tells you to just go to one of the cafes in another part of Eataly?
Overpriced salads. No gluten-free options. No cider. Staff at front desk didn’t know what Celiac means.
Firstly their food portions were an absolute joke, they suggest that they are shareable (maybe only the pizza) food was ok at best which was very disappointing. The worst is that at the restaurants they don’t serve coffee of dessert they suggest you walk around and get one!?? So I can now get in a line and get a coffee after dropping g $80 on lunch? Yeah not .. would I go back big NO
Great place to sample the cuisines of Italy
Food was delish. Had the burrata to start. For an upgrade of $9 you get 3 pieces of prochuttio. The ravioli were very good. The polpetta were good but was just that, nothing with them. Food came quickly I guess on a Monday afternoon it wasn't busy. Will return sometime and try again.
Fun and authentic
Good is very tasty, good wine service. Order dishes one at a time or talk to your server otherwise everything comes at once
Just wonderful, Italian good. Yum!
Food and Service was outstanding. Portions/pizza size are a bit small especially considering pizza libretto is of the same or higher quality. Delicious baby octopus and meatballs.
I like going to Eataly for a slice of Roman Pizza or a creamy Gelato but the sit down meal at Piazza was a total disappointment. Although I had a reservation a member if our arty was handicapped and we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated a low table. .We were unable to hear each other speak. The ravioli was not hot, the scallop appetizer was tiny and the Pizza bland. Wine is overpriced. I would consider trying another Eataly restaurant at an off hour when it is not crowded but based on my experience and that of my friends, cannot recommend Piazza at this time.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Eataly. Dinner was great, but it would have been nice to enjoy dessert while seated at dinner and not have to move a find a place to sit down elsewhere. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
The food is very good. My friend and I ordered the Capricciosa pizza and Tagliatelle with Ragu to share. We really enjoyed both. Our server was also excellent and attentive without being overbearing.
I don't love how close the tables are to each other, and the overall volume of the place is fairly loud. It's a great place to hang out and people watch though, and to be able to shop afterwards in Eataly is convenient and fun.
The hostess at La Piazza was completely clueless - she couldn't find my reservation, and then she made me wait for my reserved table but it turns out my friend had already been seated for 10 minutes. I only figured out that my friend was seated when she texted me to ask where I was. Also, the hostess also didn't check me in properly because OpenTable emailed me to state that I hadn't attended for dinner.
Too much oil on the Kale salad and the kale leaves were way too large. No coffee, tea or dessert is available. They want you to eat as quickly as you can and leave do they can move other people through. You feel like your being rushed.
Got a long way to go to measure up to NYC Eataly.
Food was just ok.
The overall concept is excellent with the quality of product also excellent. The service was abysmal----firstly I ordered some wine to drink while I checked out the store-----the bar tender could not care less whether I was served or not !!!!!
Our table in the restaurant was ready and available on time------the waiter was adamant that he tell me about the specials even though I asked for some drinks ans a chance to look at the menu----not interested in my request. Our main courses arrived at different times when I specifically requested they come together
I was shocked, when having spent $300 + I was asked to move to another area to have coffee and liqueurs----we were very comfy -----why did we have to move----loved the concept will NOT be returning
Busy place. They try to get you in and out asap! For the prices there are far better options in Toronto
Great food experience with spectacular wine and great service.
I’ve been to Eataly many times and last night I have to say I was very disappointed with the service. The food is phenomenal, just amazing and that’s why I keep going back. I’ve never had a bad experience in the past with the service. However last night it wasn’t great. Food came out really fast, but our drinks came to us at the end of our meal. We had to ask for bread for the table, and then we had to ask another person for the oil that comes with the bread. I was quite shocked since usually You don’t need to ask for the complimentary bread and dipping oil. We ended up sending the drinks back because our meal was done. Just wasn’t great service at all.
I love Eataly, the food and ambience. I hope that this won’t happen to any other guests because it’s just food.
It was great!
Lovely date night.
Eataly has a captive audience at this point. Was it the best ever? No!
I’ve travelled to Italy many times so I’m comparison to Eataly there, none.
Noise and a cafeteria ambiance is fine for lunch but not dinner.
Wines outrageous. $60 cheapest bottle.
We wouldn’t come here for an occasion in future. More a casual pop in for a drink
The hostess seemed really annoyed that we got there early
The food was great and our servers were pleasant
Great to go with your partner or friends. Not a family friendly place. The pasta was very good, but the pizza was ok.
Piazza is part of Eataly and is very busy since it opened recently in Toronto. I would recommend making a reservation as I did. Service was excellent - efficient and friendly. I had the lunch special : two courses for $22. I chose the mozzarella with prosciutto and ate it with the bread and olive oil that was brought to the table. As a main I had the spinach ricotta ravioli in lemon butter sauce with pistachios. Everything tasted amazing and it was a sunny day in Toronto, so the sun streamed in the windows. What a delight. I can’t wait to eat there again.
The food was great, also the coffee and dessert. Overall a nice experience
Food was delicious but would have like slightly larger servings. As well, beer size for $8 could have been larger
Great food and service but very busy. Wine selection is excellent but pricey.
Terrible experience. 9:45 reservation. Hostess tried to seat us at a bar table that was nearly in the aisle of the store until another person came and said “no they have a reservation for a table”. After sitting for what seemed like a long time with no attention from serving staff we finally flagged down someone and asked if she was our server, she replied “ya” without any sort of greeting. She then asked if we had been there before to which we replied no. Her next response was “we suggested sharing and we are out of pizza”. Pizza is basically the whole menu. We decided to leave. No apology from the server she just walked away. On the way out I told the hostess that she should inform people before seating them that they were out of pizza. She said that she didn’t know they were out of pizza. The whole experience was comically ridiculous. We will not give this, or any Eataly Toronto restaurant, another chance.
