Pidgin did not disappoint!!! We dined with our two children (13 & 9), our server was amazing!! He knew the dishes and was able to tell us how to modify for our youngest who isn’t that great with spice...yet!
We ordered their tasting menu...every dish was a hit, the next better than the first...highly recommend the tasting menu. But if you’re gonna order a la carte, 100% order the mushrooms!!!! The only item that fell short was the chiffon cake...not a fan of the port poached pears. Not really a fan of port in general.
I also have to give kudos to Sam, who happened to pick up the phone when we called to stay we were stuck in traffic! He was amazing and managed to work something out so that we didn’t have to give up our table due to traffic!! His kindness during a stressful time was very appreciated!

Fantastic experience. We had the tasting menu and added the fois gras which was completely worth it. Very delicious! Great unique food, and would definitely recommend trying their yuzu creme brulee. A great spin on a classic - plus if you’ve never had a candied olive you’re in for a treat :)

The service was good but the food was not. Had high expectations but was quite disappointed. And the price of the Valentine’s Set Menu didn’t match the taste of the dishes as most of them were bland.

Food was not fresh and chefs choice is really poor.
Service is poor. We have suggestions but they seems too egotistical to accept anything. Resistant to advices. It’s also really pricy but not worth it.

From beginning to end my friend Hector and I had a lovely dining experience at Pidgin ! We went on a busy Valentines evening and we were running late, of course!, and yet the hostess was kind enough to re-accommodate our reservation so that we wouldn't be rushed during our meal, which was worth it because it was definitely a dining experience! :) We had some delicious cocktails at the bar and then moved to our super cozy table onto our dining experience. The waiter accommodated my eating preferences, which was so kind considering there was a fixed-menu, and the food itself was all delicious and an adventure for the taste-buds ! Tasteful, innovative, Japanese-inspired cuisine was the theme and we were truly transported with every different flavor, texture, as well as beautiful dish presentation. The beet tartare stood out as well as the cauliflower pasta and the quail dish. The great service accompanied the delicious food and cozy ambiance made the price well worth it. All in all, great food, great atmosphere, and a good time. Thank you!

Our Valentine's Day meal was $350. That would be fine if the choice cuts were better, but it really seems to me that they are way too focused on their margins (buying cheap and selling for high profit) and not the value of the tasting experience. Most of the courses are cheap vegetables overdosed with sauce to make them taste better. I will not be going back, even though this is my fourth time going there. The food used to be better, believe me.

On the upside, the drinks are fabulous, maybe even the best in the city.

Loved the tasting menu. Found it pretty pricey over all but the food was flavourful and different. Cocktails were very good and our server was excellent. Very polite and knowledgeable. I would go again.

We had a small issue when ordering because one person at our table tried to order an appetizer and was told she could only get the full dine-out menu or nothing, so she decided to eat nothing. A few minutes later the server and manager apologized and ler her order one of the meals from the dine out menu separately and she also got dessert and we all got a round of drinks on the house so in the end the server did their best to make us feel good.

So this meal was pretty amazing. Since we were visiting Vancouver, we had no idea it was restaurant week. So when we were earring this amazing tasting menu, we would never have guessed it was a restaurant week tasting menu. The food was so smart and brilliant. Too smart for some of the other guests, but that's a different story. Lol

My favorite of the tasting menu was the Seafood Dashi. So rich and flavorful. I could've eaten bowls of it. I would even bath in it. SO GOOD!!!!!

Ending the meal with the Yuzu Creme Brûlée was really smart. It was so light and sharp, it was almost like a palette cleanser. I didn't leave the meaL feeling reallY heavy.

A restaurant that serves Korean, Japanese and French cuisine can go very wrong. Pidgin did it perfect to a T. They didn't try to mash the three cuisines together. They worked with the cooking traditions and carefully made a great progressive meal where the cuisines complimented each other.

We ate at pidgin on our trip to Vancouver for our anniversary. It happened to be dine out vancouver so we ordered the herbivore courses that were served family style. Everything was delicious and the presentation was stunning. Highly recommend!

The food is very innovative. Loved the combination of ingredients and flavours. The sablefish in the broth particularly, was perfect. For a fine dine experience though, it did not really feel like one. The wait staff was professional and efficient but not nice or kind. While explaining the dishes, one of the servers was too fast and incomprehensible. All the wait staff focused on explaining the dish to only me, leaving my partner out of the explanation. The tables were very close together, such that it was easier to hear the conversation alongside than with my partner across me. The dishes were all served in one bowl with smaller individual bowls, but there was no cutlery for some courses except chopsticks. Since it was out first Dine Out experience, we would have appreciated a bit of prologue, maybe even some suggestions/tips, but none were forthcoming from the waitstaff.

Service from the entire staff was perfect- friendly but not intrusive. Our server was great at recommendations. We were impressed that the servers knew the menu so well and could describe every dish thoroughly. We had the chefs tasting menu. Each dish was very well executed. Even if there was an ingredient that one of us didn’t personally enjoy we still realized how high the level of craftsmanship in the kitchen is. Thank you chefs for your incredible work. We highly recommend Pidgin and will return if we are ever in Vancouver.

Simply the best. Even after 7 years, Pidgin continues to surprise with its creative, flavorful, and unique dishes. The staff is just down to earth, friendly, and - most importantly - knowledgeable.
Pidgin remains a Vancouver highlight. An independent star amongst the many “chain” restaurants in town.

We chose the prix fixe with beverage pairings.
All was good except for me finding out that I'm allergic to raw oysters. (Long story: it happened once before but had I assumed those oysters were contaminated.)
We would go back and do the prix fixe again, but this time we would order wines separately. And skip the oysters.
The staff were very kind and supportive.
