Food was phenomenon. Great customer service.
Pier 1 has many great things going for them.
1. The view. You are on a wooden pier overlooking the ocean and if you are having dinner, you get the most beautiful sunset.
2. Food is delicious and fairly priced. You can choose to eat local Caribbean food or more Americanized food. All of it is great quality and taste. I had the surf and turf with lobster. Highly recommend it.
3. Drinks are plentiful and come quickly.
4. Staff was very friendly and service was well paced.
Next time I am in Jamaica I will definitely dine here again.
Our meal was great and the Karaoke provided good entertainment.
Had a great time with family. It is a nice restaurant but the food took a little long to get but when received it was excellent.
It was great
Great food and service overlooking the beach.
Skip it. Completely mediocre food and experience.
Restaurant was really good and the ambience was great.
All round great!
Table for 15 - No value for money & the wait time was too long. We checked at around 7 PM and didn't get the entree until about 11 and we planned to dine in but ended up taking our meals to go because of the lengthy wait. We basically lost our appetite. The jerk chicken Alfredo wasn't seasoned (fresh), the grilled chicken portion was very small, the ribs wasn't cooked (didn't slide off the bone), the fish wasn't cooked. The fish sizes were limited (the sizes on the website isn't what was available) plus a host of other complaints for my group re their meals. The only good thing was the wings as an appetizer & as a courtesy the manager gave our table 5 daiquiris on the house for the long wait. I wouldn't recommend going their with a group. Also a covering needs to be available on the sides in case in rains because we were getting wet at the table
Chef was amazing. Accommodated special dietary requests for my mom. He came out three times to check on her and us. Best local experience. Will go back many times. The seafood pot and the whole snapper were favorites. And, don’t miss the
I visited Pier 1 with a party of 4 for a 7 pm reservation. We were greeted and brought to our table promptly. However another 30 minutes passed before we were even served water! After complaining to one of the co-owners he made a great effort to ensure we got served. However the service remained subpar. It seems they were having staffing issues and the wait staff appeared to be overwhelmed.
Despite all that we had the seafood chowder which was flavorful but was a bit cold. On another night I would have ask for it to be heated up. The ackee wontons were ok. Apparently it’s a favorite there.
For my main course I had the blackened salmon salad which was very good! Especially with the mango vinaigrette dressing.
Overall I think once the service issues are sorted out Pier 1 would be a nice spot to dine. If not best to explore other options.
While the ambiance was amazing with the sunset and decor, We had higher expectations with service and the food. Pier 1 came highly recommended but ended up being a bit of a let down.
Upon our arrival, we waited to be seated which what seemed like 7mins not because it was busy but simply no one was there to greet us! We understand this can happen but this came unexpected.
Our server was amazing. Okay, I’m going to mess up her name but it’s pronounced Sanya but spelled differently! She was quite busy but managed to check in on us the entire evening.
I had the citrus grilled lobster tail which was served luke warm and over cooked. You pride yourself on “cook to serve” and can’t say what happened here! It wasn’t busy during this time but...
I have to think about giving Pier 1 another try in the near future.
In the meantime, I would hope these areas gets addressed so your next guests don’t have this same experience.
Could be a great spot as atmosphere & views are great. Food was good, some better than other. While fresh snapper was delish as were coconut shrimp. Tofu jerky was tasty. Soup, hummus & calamari were fair.
Biggest problem was the service. No bus help. Drinks took 45 mins.to arrive. Appetizers over an hour. Manager helped take orders & kitchen didn’t connect them to one table so 1/2 the tables food came out 20 mins later.
We won’t go back!
It was busy and service suffered, but amazing venue.
The Pier was underwhelming overall, nothing bad but nothing great either. We ordered the Mega Pot which was a small metal pot with two small pieces of lobster tail, two stone crab claws and some shrimp.
We also found some empty mussel and clam shells.
Overall not worth $60 for the pot and the $60 cab fare for 3 miles each way.
I came, with a reservation, on Sat. Dec.7 only to be told the restaurant was closed for a function. Nothing on the website and the reservation was confirmed.
I paid a driver to take me there. Luckily the executive chef was at the gate and advised me he would send a driver for me when I returned to MB.
Doing everything by internet is great until you encounter a situation like this. Regardless I am looking forward to my next visit on Dec. 14.
It was a great experience the food was great but the waiter put us in a bad mood she was giving us attitude and when we were ordering she would walk away even thou we weren't finished with the order but overall I had a great birthday there would totally recommend💯
The food and drinks were delicious, the service was great. However when I went to use the restroom there wasn't any running water. That's completely unsanitary and unacceptable to me. How is it that a restaurant of this magnitude does have any running water for their employees to wash their hands as they're the ones cooking and serving our food. Nor for their customers who are paying to eat at their restaurant. The owners of this establishment must do better.
I took an expensive cab drive over just to be told the restaurant is under construction. I made a reservation on open table so they had my information; why did they not give me the courtesy of an email or calling
Great food and service. Would go back there for future dinners.
Thank God I went to Pier 1 with my husband.. It was really great.. I enjoyed every moment of it.. The food was great not to mention the jerk pork i ordered and the ribs.... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music was just so soft and nice.. My server was a great lady.. its only a pity i cant remember her name.. excellent customer service from her.. she was very patient....I want her to serve me when i return.
The Curried Goat was excellent. The Stewed Oxtail was salty but otherwise enjoyable. The fish soup was nice but wasn't served hot enough
Brilliant food. Brilliant service surrounded by amazing views
The prices are reasonable. I LOVE OT HERE. Definitely a place to go to when we are in town.
We came over from scotland our 9th time in this wonderful country and 22nd july is our wedding anniversary having been married in trawleny in 2010 so we decided to come to pier 1 to celebrate it. Quite simply it was brilliant from start to finish. Food superb, service was excellent and the staff were fast and efficient plus the view on all sides great we will be back next year see you all then
Over experience was enjoyable!
Absolutely terrible. It took an hour and half to get our food for four peope. We ordered a flat bread as an appetizer , looked like a kid made it. People all around us were getting their food all around us. Asked for the manager, she just stared at us when we asked about our food. No, I’m sorry let me check on it , noting! Would NEVER ago back.
Pier 1 features a lovely ambiance and good drinks; however, the food isn’t great. I dined at the restaurant with 13 other people, so we were able to try a variety of dishes. The oxtail lacked flavor and the sauce was a bit off. It definitely wasn’t worth ordering. Also, the steamed red snapper had very little taste. The salmon, however, was good, and the saltfish fritters were tasty. Overall, however, I wouldn’t recommend the food——but I would definitely recommend the ambiance.
Great as usual
Loved everything about this restaurant. The seafood is fresh and very well seasoned. Staff was super friendly and service was very fast. Definitely recommend it.
The service was slow!!! We ordered starters and the server brought out our starters with our main dishes. The food came out warm and the calamari was good. I had to wait 15 minutes to get a drink from the bar while people walked up ti the bar and got there drinks right away. I’ve been better off going to the bar myself. The best part was the breeze.
Good food, good service, fair prices. I love the atmosphere, I always enjoy dining there, hope to be back soon.
I made reservations 2mths in advance for 8:30pm. I advised was making reservations to celebrate 40th birthday. Now they did have the table set with the colors I wanted, but I was disappointed that they rushed us to order and eat. Stated the kitchen closes at 9pm and the have to have all tables cleaned and off the floor do to turning restuarant in a night club. So we could no longer sit finish food and enjoy celebrating because of the club atmosphere. 1st time in Jamaica and not very happy about this restaurant.
Tourist trap. The view is great for drinks but would skip the food.
The service was slow and unprofessional. It took a while for the waiter to get our orders right and then when the food was brought out she still did not have the right orders.
We recommended this restaurant to several people on one of tours. Loved it!!
Excellent food, experience and service ! Yanique our server was over the top, a must do !
Pier 1 was great! Walked in with a reservation and the staff were right there to put us at our table. Immediately we were given menus and drinks. The ambiance was very romantic by the ocean. Perfect setting in a true Jamaican restaurant. The food was abundant and quite tasty. The quality and quantity was more than enough for 2 people. I had the jerk pork with rice and peas it’s fried cassava.
