His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

A wonderful dining experience. Wait staff were polite, professional and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was lovely and the food was outstanding. My husband and I both had the veal Mamma Lucia and there was not a bite left on our plate. Will certainly be back,

My dinner was served with a food item I don’t eat. This item was not listed in the menus or described to me ny the waiter. Imagine if I had an allergic reaction or worse. The owner checked the menu when we brought it to her attention. She seemed sincere in her apology and that was how we ended our experience there. We won’t be back.

It’s a very tiny place and the entrance gets a bit crowded as people are coming in and leaving but the food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ate was perfect. The service was very good and it was nice to get a visit from the restaurant owner. He’s very friendly and made us feel like we were family. I highly recommend trying this place out. It’s pricy but you definitely get what you pay for. And make sure to try the lemoncello cake. It’s out of this world.

Not very positive ! Oener Pietro was very kind but it did not improve my veal Francese meal. Quality of meat was good but it was absolutely drowned in lemon sauce so overwhelmed it was inedible. Plain awful and disappointing

Great evening except that we didn’t realize that you only had wine/beer and our guest was looking for.a mixed drink. Perhaps that needs to be reemphasized more. Also on a dark night it was very difficult/impossible to see your signage out front since the Direct Auto sign was so predominantly displayed. Our guest was coming from north on 41 and almost missed the place. Small issues but just some observations.

The owner, Pietro, introduced himself as the chef….nice personal touch….and he has a great sense of humor. Alex, our waiter, was very attentive and served us well. The two other waitstaff were equally attentive. The dining room with all its wine bottles on three walls makes for a warm environment. The food came well prepared and all 7 of us enjoyed our meals. It may be a bit pricey, but worth it.

Celebrated my Birthday with friends at Pietro’s. Loved the food, ambiance and service. We met the chef - great guy. His wife was wonderful as well - she also works there. Highly recommend. They couldn’t have been more accommodating

Best Italian food in Sarasota!!! I love Italian food, living and eating in Sarasota area since 2007. Slowing going thru all Italian restaurants in area. So far this the Best, top 3 for sure! The food was very good and the ambiance, in the "wine cellar" was delightful. The restaurant was pretty empty so perhaps that was what was causing the wait staff to spend far more time than necessary hanging over our table and talking to us. Also, neither I nor my female guest liked being addressed as "pretty lady". Repeatedly.

We had very high expectations but were disappointed in some of the food. One entre was very good but the rest was good but not outstanding. Strangely, the receipt was hand written with some entrees and more of a lump sum than a line item of what we ordered.

Quality of Food and service are outstanding. A bit pricey for Sarasota but worth every dollar. Portions are large so you will need a doggy bag to bring home the leftovers

This for my Italian husband was like being at his grandmothers table on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant and the chef were just amazing. The restaurant staff left you wanting for nothing. Just a fabulous find!

Pietro's was an amazing dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and plan to come again soon. The food was delicious and authentically Italian. Our server was very attentive. The decor inside has a classy, old world feel to it. The owner (pietro) even stopped by to personally say hello and thank us for coming.

This is our go-to place when we are in Sarasota. The service and food are always outstanding. The servers are professional, knowledgeable about the menu items, and friendly. Going to Pietro’s is like going “home” except the food is way better!

From start to finish which included a delicious desert our dining experience at Pietro's was excellent. Our server JoAnna could not have been more attentive as was the owner. An extra surprise was the Chef coming out and talking with the tables. Great restaurant and will make this one of our mainstay's.

We felt the veal Parmesan was a bit heavy. Would also much prefer spaghetti to penne as a side, not sure why that’s not just as easy to offer. Otherwise a very nice experience…very good service and nice atmosphere.
