Welcome to Pillars - an exciting new venue in the heart of Street We're quickly earning a reputation for one of the best venues in town. Set over two floors and a secluded alfresco terrace, our ground floor bar offers an extensive range of wines, Champagnes, beers, ales and ciders as well as our own brand of home brewed craft ale. Food good steaks were lovely but a little on the dear side I had piller burger with salad very nice. Sauce like mayonnaise was served in little pots would have liked a bit more.

Good food and attentive service in an interesting conversion of a former cinema. However rather the steaks were over-priced and the noise level was quite high.

Such a shame. Great ambience, but food a bit disappointing. Burger bun cremated. When we mentioned it, told we should have returned. Chef or waiting staff shouldn't offer food to that standard. Salmon dish boring, no seasoning and green veg swimming in butter. Tasteless. Steak cooked perfectly but left standing to go cold. Deserts not much better, lemon tart more like custard tart. Cheesecake is in fact a BAKED cheesecake which is totally different and more like a cake. When these things raised, no offer of refund/discount, apology nothing. Need to pull their standards up. Meal wasn't exactly cheap either.

Third time we've eaten here and not once been disappointed. Delicious food, great entertainment, enthusiastic staff ( mark) and lush drinks! We had a few changes to our meal and they catered for that without even a grumble. Mark and the team are an asset and we will see you very soon for our next meal!

Although the main meal was nice. We had to ask to order our main course and we were the only customers sitting on the floor tables. We initially order water for the table, one beer, four mojito cocktails (because of the 2 for 1 deal that was on) and two small glasses of house white wine. We didnt receive the water and our mojitos were nowhere near a mojito cocktail. It was lime cordial, lemonade, white rum, two mint leaves, one slice of lemon and a couple ice cubes. From knowledge, mojitos have lime JUICE, sugar, white rum, soda water or club soda , lime wedges and a good handful of mint leaves. We went just after 5pm and it was extremely quiet but we must say, we cannot fault the lady that served our table. She was very polite.

The decor and presentation is amazing - beautifully decorated for Christmas. Let down by mediocre food over priced food, slow service and the very chilly temperature in the dining area. A real shame because this place could be amazing.

Always amazing service from mark and the team they are all lovely and the meal was lovely it was just the roasts as they weren’t very warm but quickly sorted once advised. Thanks for always looking after us.

Sunday lunch at Pillars was very pleasant. There were four of us in our party, and we had a table in a fairly central location in the restaurant. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, service was good and the meals we ordered - we all went for the roasts - were very generous in size! One of our friends felt the vegetables were slightly under cooked for his taste, but to my mind, they were fine. It's a great venue for entertaining friends, or for a private party. We will definitely plan to go again.

Looking forward to going again. Staff are lovely and the decor and ambiance is amazing. Look closely at the large playing cards on one of the walls. Outstanding. Who made them for you? Two suggestions for improvement. 1) a bit more variety in food 2) need hand rail for disability/mobility access As a party of five (one who appreciated child’s menu) we had an excellent time. All praise for the vision of Pillars. Love it.

For the food yes. Very disappointed as was a double engagement celebration which I had made clear. I don't think a bottle of bubbly between 8 or even a glass on the house wouldn't have gone a miss especially after spending £190. We had to wait an hour for the food. The live music didn't hold our interest you couldn't her the singer over the piano. Nobody asked if our meals were ok which seems to be the done thing these days especially a high end eater

Had an excellent evening with friends at Pillars. Could not fault food,Service and atmosphere. We had a Micheal Buble impersonater who was very good. Other member of his family also sung who we also enjoyed. The only small criticism was that the noise level of music between sets was too loud and we were unable to hear ourselves speak. We were close to stage so this didn’t help. This would not put us off going again.

Very good meal with my family. Just a few issues which were dealt with professionally by the staff but were a disappointment over all. That was they did not have the wine we chose so we had to have a more expensive one and then one of the steaks came up well done and it should have been medium. The staff were apologetic and a replacement steak was bought out quickly, but it did mar the overall experience.

Best rump steak I've ever had. Food was delicious. Ours was a mid-week booking and therefore much quieter than I'd imagine Fri/Weekends would be. It was quiet and not much atmosphere. Service was what let it down, slightly. Usually staff would return having served your food to check all is ok. But nobody did. We wanted some water but had to try and get someone's attention in order to get it. Water should be on the table as standard. But the food was so good and came out quickly so really couldn't complain! Will definitely be returning.

Lovely place, great atmosphere and delicious food. A little noisy but nothing to moan about and it did take a while to get the attention of someone when we wanted the bill. Overall, we very impressed with our 1st visit and will recommend & return.

We really enjoyed our first meal at pillars and will definitely be back very soon. If I had any criticism, it would be that the menu is a little tame.....it’s almost as through the menu choices don’t match the beautiful interior. That said, our steak was delicious! Beautifully tender and melted in the mouth.

A terrific venue , and thank you to all the team . We had a superb evening ( sat 21st Sept) great staff ,food , atmosphere , live music and a beautifully designed interior . Someone has done a fabulous fit out job at vast expense . Certainly deserves to be busier , and to be honest I think Pillars is a bit wasted on Street. If it had more of a relaxing pub/grill image with a bar area , so it was a bit less formal, then that may appeal to local people who would use it more often . However we will be visiting every few months !

A very enjoyable evening with friends, we all had the Catch of the Day which was Sea Bass, a very tasty and well cooked meal. For puddings two had chocolate brownie and one had Key Lime Pie, this was also excellent. Music was brilliant with the lovely Shalana.

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday lunch time with family. Received a lovely warm welcome by Mark, the manager on arrival. Really impressed by the way the old cinema has been transformed into a beautiful tastefully decorated restaurant. Service was attentive and attention was made to our requirements. Food was cooked to perfection. Have already recommended to friends
