Pisces is one of our go-to restaurants in Mount Dora. The service is excellent, and the food is very good. The menu is American fair, with great selections of meats and seafood. The scallops were excellent in taste, and served with a rice/vegetable side. My wife had filet mignon and a lettuce wedge, which is always delicious. Atmosphere is casual, and there is an expansive deck with beautiful views of Lake Dora. The inside bar is a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

This was our second time at Pisces Rising and our experience was better than the first and better than what we expected for Easter Sunday. We were disappointed that the filet mignon was not on the Easter brunch menu but our waitress was so kind that she checked with the kitchen and they were able to accommodate us. They were delicious and so tender. We also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and asparagus. Being from out of town it was nice to have a special place to go for Easter.

I chose Pisces Rising because of its location and it seems upscale so I could celebrate my mom's birthday surprise. Unfortunately however although the site itself is gorgeous it is not upscale. I ordered a salad and it was really difficult to eat because it was too salty. My family didn't like what they ordered either. Then I had arranged for the waitress to bring the cake and when she brought it she didn't clear the table properly, she also didn't sing happy birthday, she just brought it like bringing any other plate. I had also reserved a table in advance letting them know it was a birthday celebration I had brought a cake and balloon, still they chose to put us in a corner. I was able to rearrange that and get another table, thankfully but it didn't make sense to me that they would do that. I think it's a great place to go have drinks and meet with friends, but not really a place to dine or have a celebration.

We enjoyed our experience dining with friends at Pisces Rising. We had a reservation and we’re seated promptly. Service was good and the food was excellent. Our choices ranged from a cheeseburger, ribs, scallops and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. I personally had the scallops, which were a daily fish offering. They place was busy and reservations were needed, but we did not feel rushed, and it was quiet enough for conversation. We will return.

Had a wonderful experience- first time there. Food was delicious, service was great. Sat on the deck and watched the sunset. Only complaint would be the price of the smoked old fashion was ridiculously expensive. Would not get that again, but will definitely be back.

We ordered the crab stuffed salmon with asparagus over mashed potatoes. One order was overcooked and we should have sent it back; however we were under a time restraint and didn't feel we had time to wait for the dish to be recooked. This is a dish we have had in the past and it is cooked to perfection. The seafood cobb salad was delicious and the half pound peel and eat shrimp was plentiful and cook just right.

We had a terrible experience here in 2019 and after hearing good things recently from friends, decided to give it another try. It must have changed hands because it was really good this time. We had the rib-eye and crab stuffed salmon with the crabcakes appetizer.

We’ve dined at Pisces Rising other years and we’re disappointed in the food this year. We ordered the Valentines lobster and filet dinner for two and it arrived luke warm and was not served with drawn butter for the lobster. We’ve never been served lobster without butter in other dining establishments. The quality of food and service certainly did not meet our expectations

The restuarant, which is located near the shore of Lake Dora, potentially allows for a view of the sun setting on the lake. Unfortanely, it was cloudy the night we dined here so the clouds blocked the view of the sunset. Even so, my wife and I greatly enjoyed our dining experience. Nice variety on the menu. We tried calamari appetizer. Interesting and very tasty. Shrimp & grits had a good portion of shrimp and andouille and more grits than anyone can eat. Very tasty sauce. Ribs had a nice smoky flavor. Service was quick and attentive. It was quite noisy
